BTech Colleges in India 2026: Fees, Admissions, Placements, Rankings, Cutoff

Ans. It depends on the branch and the college. For Computer Science at a top-five IIT, you usually need a JEE Advanced rank under about 450 - IIT Bombay CSE closes near rank 66 and IIT Delhi CSE near 126. Core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil at these IITs stay open up to ranks of 2,000 to 8,000. At the newer IITs, CSE is possible up to about 10,000 to 15,000. For the top NITs through JEE Main, you need above 99 percentile for CSE, and 95 to 98 percentile for good core branches.
