Placement Experience:
Placements are good in IIT kanpur for btech students but for masters course not really good as btech students. From 2nd year of Master students are eligible to get ready for placement. Avg package of iit kanpur is 27 LPA and highest approx 2 crore.
Likes
- friendly behaviour of seniors, this is the thing that I like most here in this campus which makes us comfortable with them and share our problems.
- its such a beautiful campus and especially in winters you get an awesome view from every corner of the campus, i always prefer to explore the campus and it never disappoints me
Dislikes
- extreme climate conditions in summer and winter, whether its too hot in summer or too cool in winters
- grading system is too hard, it depends on professor but mostly its so complicated and grades wont be as we expected
Placement Experience:
In our college, placements are offered. And many of the students get a job in that because Many of the students are aware of what are industry requirements And they do internships based on what they are intrested in. Every year. The average package of I.I.T kanpur is around twenty five lakhs. This year we had excellent placements and the official data is not yet out but still its known that average package is around 25-27LPA.
Likes
- College is very vast as one can expect from an IIT. People are of very helping nature. Campus is very safe with almost no restriction on students.
- Campus life is very smooth going with all the amenities present within campus. Campus host different fests, conferences, etc throughout the year.
Dislikes
- Some courses here are really rigorous. Some professor makes it tough for even pass the paper with a good grade.
- Food delivery from outside the campus closes after 11pm, although canteens are open till 2am.
Placement Experience:
IITs are known for their great strike rates in placements accross all the disciplines. Companies like Google, microsoft, facebook, etc comes every year and offers huge amount of money, going as high as several crores, and averaging around 12,00,000 rs. Data Analyst, software developer, etc are some of the profiles that are very popular. I personally want to pursue PhD after my masters.

- I like the level at which proffesor teach they are very interactive and friendly
- There are lot off facilities for students as library,ncl ,playground, gym and many more
Dislikes
- here Many courses are very tough to only pass
- Infrastructure for hostels is not very good

- Collage provides library which is open from 8 am 12 am (18 hours)and have best faculties
- Provides environment for different fields there are different clubs apart from studying students can do

- Behaviour of some professor towards students they just wanted that level of there course should not drop
- Some Old hostels needed some restoration

Generally mostly students coming in IITK only to go in research field . While some students are willing to take placement in Ed tec company but average package of Ed tec company is low in comparison to other IT sector companies. So if you are wanted to take placement don't come in this collage as Msc maths student other department are good in placements

- Campus is very large and beautiful.it is lush green
- Hostels are beautiful and the roads inside the campus are perfect for driving bicycles
Dislikes
- Curriculum is a bit hard and competitive
- College is located outside the main city(Kanpur)
Placement Experience:
Placements of my college is tremendous its average package is around 18 to 20 LPA in almost all the branches while in Cs average is around 45 LPA College placement percentage is around 90-95% Almost all the students who apply for placements are placed Off campus placements are also good as the biggest player in off campus placements is the IIT tag

- The Culture of IIT Kanpur is best among all IITs. There is a cultural of Amma Baapu which is very good and seniors are very helpful
- Lot of activities going around campus everyday. There is lot of opportunities to explore. You can pursue what you like!
Dislikes
- There is lot of Academic pressure. There are many activities happens around the campus but you have to manage time for both
- Lot of peer pressure a student feel. Everyone around you is way smarter than you which makes you feel inferior
Placement Experience:
IIT Kanpur has amazing placements. Its average package is more than the highest package of many good engineering college. IIT Kanpur has average package of 24 lpa. It's CSE department has average package of 54 lpa even more than IIT Bombay.
Placement Experience:
After the end of 6 th semester, students need to submit the resume for the placements. At this time my senior placements are going on and they are much better. Like on first day half of the batch got placed. All the it sector company are there you can apply for. Highest package was around 2 cr and average was 25 lakhs. 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed, rest of the students either go for the masters or PhD or some other goal. I am pretty sure after my degree completion i would get an average package but I just wanted to be a civil servant.

- Clean campus with accessible roads, big academic area with library and canteens

- Academic culture and toxicity in clubs and societies
- Extreme harsh weather and the transition to hot and cold
Placement Experience:
Placements are smoother if you fall in the group of top shortlistwd candidates. The credibility and easiness decreases by each day making it harder for non shortlisted students to acquire a chance to prove themselves despite of their academic records

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
