Course Curriculum Overview:
The Faculties of iit Kanpur are very approachable so are my course faculties. I like the course content, so many opportunities for research students. Institute should give a break after mid mid-semester exams instead of that they continue classes which are very overwhelming. The difficulty level always remains unexpected.

- No in out timing that means can go out at any time

- Initially sem feels very much hectic and hard to survive
Placement Experience:
Placement are good .As if my department has recently added so can say only that max package was 16lpa and hope for more better placements of our seniors . So yaa placement are good here can be said so doesn't matter .

- The college is too green. Lot's of places are left vacant.
- The campus life is great and it's having nice people to interact with.
Dislikes
- The course curriculum is too hectic and regouros.
- The campus is quite big to travel. It takes time to travel anywhere in between the campus even.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is good enough. As I'm in aerospace it's having good facilities at IITK. They have many laboratories along with flight strip, National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF) which give good exposure in practicals too.

- The best thing about IITK that seperates it from other IIT's is the amount of freedom; many courses have no attendance policy, there are no time restrictions in campus, boys can stay in girls hostel and vice versa(except 12-6 am)
- The quality of the hostel for freshers(hall 13) is top notch, too good mess, wifi speed is so good. In first year, the courses are commmon for everyone and the relevance of the courses is such that students get exposure of various branches
Dislikes
- The freshers hostel and hall 12 is very good but the quality of other halls which are mostly old since 90's is not upto the mark. Like there's problem of insects, wifi, room space, water
Placement Experience:
There are 2 things- Internships and Placements. internship tests are during start of your 3rd year and 2 go for internships at start of 4th year. For placement you have it at the end of your 4th year. Around 400/1200 get placed in internships and around 800 get placed on campus. On day 1 you get top companies for internships as well as placements such as Microsoft, google, quadeye,jlr,goldmann saccs, itc,optiver top companies offer intern of around 4-5 lakh per month with all expenditures and for placements top companies give around 50 lpa. Those who are not placed on campus apply off campus on the basis of their resume and skills, the college has ANC council which provides addition intern and placement opportunities apart from the companies on campus and also there are enough POR's to build ur skills and resume

Placement Experience:
After sixth semester from seventh semester onwards students become eligible for placements. Variety of companies come like SDE, core, analytics consulting companies. No of offers made are approximately 1000.

- There are diverse opportunities to learn new things at IITK
- There are good sports and extra curricular facilities as well.

- Almost everyone here is smart resulting in too much competition.
- Sometimes the results of certain club activities are biased.
Placement Experience:
The placement statistics of IITK is great. Every year many 1cr+ packages as well as international packages are offered by top companies to students. The placement percentage is also increasing every year. The students become eligible to apply for companies after 3rd year ie. after 6th semester. The highest package offered was 4cr per annum while the average package was 22lacs per annum. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good paying job and start working.

- I like the mapping of campus as every important places are nearby the hostels like lecture halls,sports area and food and snacks shop
- I like that there is no restriction in girls entering boys hostel and vice versa
Dislikes
- Outside the campus there is no place to visit as the campus location is outside the main city.
- According to me the academic are tougher in iit kanpur in comparison to other iits.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I decided to choose this course on the basis of my jee advanced rank. So the branch of civil engineering was available in IIT Kanpur so I decided to opt for the following. The faculty to student ratio is also quite good.
Likes
- There are a lot of trees providing us a healthy environment to live and study in.
- It provides various other opportunities to shine like in sports music gaming etc.
Dislikes
- Gender ratio is not good enough here in IIT kanpur
Placement Experience:
There campus placements are very impressive. But in our branch the placement have not been started because it is new branch but it have very promising hopes of good employment in the upcoming years. The companies visiting ar Google, Microsoft and many big MNC. I am thinking of doing MBA after my degree .
Likes
- The academics here may be tough but they are enjoyable. Professors are good and the cources here train you to be great. They are tough but relevant
- The clubs here provide great exposure to various things. There are both cultural and technology clubs
Dislikes
- Climate is extreme. It's too cold or too hot during winters and summers.
- The grading is harsh you have to work really hard to score.
Placement Experience:
The college offers various placement opportunities. Many companies come and take people. It's usually starts in the month of December in the final year. I can tell about my branch average package is 33 lakhs and about some 90 lakh is highest package. Various tech non teach companies come like Google, Microsoft, sprinkler etc The minimum salary offered is 6 lakh per annum. People can easily get placement outside college because of IIT tag.

- When i visited the college for the first time a year ago, i was astonished by the beautiful campus. The campus was lush green, beautiful and drones and other technical instruments flying and what not. The hostel was also quite nice .
- During my first semester, the academics was not much touch as i had heard of, it was easy and you could pass by starting to study a week before the exams. However, they became slightly tough in the second semester, but it was manageable.
Dislikes
- There is not much but the attendance criteria in some courses.
- Some professors are very intelligent but they lack the ability to teach or to convey the knowledge to the students.
Placement Experience:
Placements are good . Some of my seniors are placed in very good companies and almost all students get placed. The student placement office cooperates a lot in your placement year. Various options are available.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
