IITK is Kind to students!!

Likes

Our syllabus is in line with top international universities as we have most syllabus inspired by them.
Our infrastructure is better than every single IITs of the country and is also one of the largest IITs of the country.
Our course is as tough as it gets as because Chemical engineering is one of the most complex studies but we are given teaching that makes this complex studies looks simple.

Dislikes

Definitely it's some of the students as they enter IITs and then lose all their seriousness.

I gave JEE Maina and IIT Kanpur which is fourth ranked college is where I got admissions or else IIT Bombay was my first choice. So, can't really say that I got rejected but yes instead of IIT Bombay, I got admission in IIT Kanpur.

Likes

Faculty have superb record in research and development
Infrastructure is world class and constantly under development
Overall society in diverse and excellent peer group.

Dislikes

Everywhere post graduate students have not adequate representation
Academics is super tough and some irrelevant cousrses are there
There is some sort of drug abuse happening in some hostels

I have applied mostly for the IITs but based on the rank I was alloted this college and given branch. Although I could get some circuital branches in 3rd gen IITs but I preferred college above branch.

Campus scenery consisting of wide range flora and fauna sparks the beauty of IIT
Perfect library with all the books needed for best education

Girls to boys ratio in our department is 1:3
The faculty here is top notch and world renowned professors.
The course curriculum is very efficient and useful for future

The coursework is very heavy with lots of quiz, exams, assignments which can sometimes feel like a lot.
The routine is very hectic with lots of classes throughout the day
The mess food is not good, sometimes very oily and bad taste.

Iit kanpur also known for high academic standards.The faculty is well qualified.
Iit kanpur provides good scientific and technological research facility.There are many projects working on Ai, Robotics etc in Iit kanpur.
It provides many intership program. It also gives many scholarship program.It collaborates with many top rank universities of the world.

Dislikes

There is so much pressure of academic like viva,exam etc.It can lead to stress many times.The workload in B tech is so high on students.
The campus is well mentioned but nearby it so much pollution. There is many factory working near it.
The climate in kanpur is harsh.during summer temperatures Crossed 40 degree Celsius. It leads to so much stress.

The big campus is the thing i liked the most
Many eateries inside the campus which serves food uptill 4 in the night
The oat that hosts so many different functions

Sometimes the bathroom services are not good as there is a problem of water

IIT-K ka tempo high hai. Come join this premier institute for a great college life and beyond.

Likes

Campus is huge, and green all around. You'll enjoy summer evenings sitting at the CCD.
Most of the professors are great at what they do.
You get to make friends with the best folks.

Dislikes

IITK is a bit too strict on academics than some of the other IITs.
Kanpur being a smaller corporate centre than Delhi or Mumbai; students get a bit less exposure for internships.
Like in any other college, some professors are not as great as others.

Admission:

IITK vs IITD vs IITB. IITK outranks other two in terms of academics and research. IITK ka tempo high hai. But some of the departments like Ecell at the other two IITs has better opportunites due to being in larger centre.

Cool life of college.

Fee of the courses is affordable for every student.
Campus and hostel Security is really really good
Professor are very helpful and always help to solve students any problem.

Dislikes

I don't really like the Academic curriculum of the institute.
Hostel mess is not good as we really expected.
For other activities there are not time because academic always going on with full potential .

I apply for IISER Mohali and get admission but as I got admission in IIT kanpur I rejected the offer of IISER Mohali for doing research In maths and I join iit kanpur. Admission procedure is easy we have to clear iit jam exam and then go for counseling.

Unless you have a very low CGPA, your class 10th and 12th marks won’t affect your placements. However, your class 12th marks do determine your JEE rank and the branch you get which in turn affects your placements. But it’s important to note that this is a very short term effect and 10 years down the line, neither your branch nor your class 12 marks will affect you. For interviews, prepare a solid credible reason to justify your low marks, and don’t hide it.
