The Acedemic fees for per semester is 1lakh that makes up 2 lakhs per year for academic fees. And then there is Hostel fees which 30-40 thousand yearly but a little high as a fresher because we need to pay the security fees as well. And the student coming from SC/ST and PWD category has to pay 0 rupees as academic fees but hotel charges remain as usual for the students. Student with the Income certificate of less than 5 lakh we will the given 66 persent scholarship in the academic fees. The waster charges , development fees, lab fees are negligible.

Total tution fee in IIT Kanpur for general category 2012 was around 3 Lakhs, in 2024-25 it is around 10Lakh. For economically backward family students, MCM scholarship is available.
