Hostel Facilities:

The Hostel Room is are not that great when campared to the other colleges room but all the other facility are well eqipeed. Although Ac are not allowed neither you are allowed to put on your own. Rental chrages are 30-40 thoudsand yearly + mess chages extra. The food quality is good. We are given many option in the food and we can also take extra food with some money . and then there is canteen which opens from 2pm-2am. The cantten offer a wide range of food. There isnt some different registartion for the hostel.

Hostel Facilities:

Students get tripple sharing rooms in their first year to interact with other students. Onwards they get single room. Room have beds, chairs, table, fan , cupboards. Every hostel has its fixed menu for each month. Food quality is average but hygenic. Hostel allocation is part of admission process. Hostel cost is approx 18-19k per semester. NO, I have not rented a room, I got hostel.

Hostel Facilities:

Hoatels are plenty and two seater and three seater rooms are available. I stay in double room and have to pay 45000 for room and 36000 for mess yearly. Everything is good about our college hostels as they are the best.

Hostel Facilities:

There is maditory hostel residency. In first year boys are alloted hall 13 which is a new hostel with almost every facility except for AC. But three students are accomdated in the place originally designed for two. Mess food is okayish.

Hostel Facilities:

In first year boys are allotted hall 13 and girls are allotted hall 4 . In hall 13 there are tripple sharing and double sharing rooms but i. Hall 4 thwre arw only double sharing rooms. Hall are big and have proper ventilation . Regular cleaning of rooms and corridoors take place everyday. Clean drinking water comes 24 hours.

IIT-K ka tempo high hai. Come join this premier institute for a great college life and beyond.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel food was an issue in some of the hostels in 2012-16, but more and more hostels were appointing private caterers which were of good quality. You won't get an AC or cooler for summers, and no heaters/bloweres in winters. Also we used to share a single room in our first year.

Dislikes

Food delivery from outside the campus closes after 11pm, although canteens are open till 2am.

Hostel Facilities:

Rooms are double seater, with 2 tables, 2 chairs and 2 wardrobes. 24x7 high-speed wifi. Meal menu changes every month. Overall food quality is good. Registration is done along with the admission process. Hostels cost you around 13,000 per semester, with around 3000rs per month for mess.

There are a total of 4 boys’ hostels namely, Hall 2,3,5, and 12. The oldest halls are 2,3 and 5.

Halls 2 and 3: These halls provide a three-seater room. Initially, you might feel congested but soon you will adapt yourself to the limited space. I’m the 2nd and 3rd year, one boy will be removed and only the 2 of you will be left.

Hall 5: Although you will be sharing the room with just one student, you will realize that the size of the room is smaller than 2 and 3. Again in the 2nd and 3 rd years, you will get the entire room to yourself.

Hall 12: This hostel has the best rooms that are well furnished and with great facilities. The luckiest people get to stay here.

It’s important to bear in mind the fact that the above details were limited to BTech students only.

No, there are no attached washrooms in IIT Kanpur. There are 2 common washrooms meant to be used by the students on the entire floor. Additionally, there are 8 wash basins, 4 toilets, and 4 bathing areas. You also have a geyser and a washing machine to do your laundry.

The washrooms are cleaned regularly and hygienic conditions are maintained. Utmost hygiene is taken care of and it is cleaned and maintained regularly.

You will find no spacious rooms, or attached washrooms here. In fact, it’s the lack of such luxuries that makes hostel life extraordinary.

My knowledge is limited to the accommodation facilities of UG students at IIT Kanpur only. The first-year students are allotted the Hall of Residence 13. This 6-story building has double or triple-seater rooms and has been built recently and thus has the best facilities among other hostels of IIT Kanpur. Its location is an added feature.

But from the second year, you will have to leave these splendid hostels and move to other hostels like Hall of Residence 2,3, 5, or 12. Let’s talk about these halls individually to get a better insight into the accommodation facilities of IIT Kanpur students.

Hall 1 and 9: Thisbisbysally for final year students as it has single occupancy rooms only.
Hall 2: Students of this hostel are allotted double occupancy rooms and this hostel is known for its prime location.
Hall 3: The design and facilities of this hall are very much similar to Hall 2
Hall 5: This hostel has bigger and more spacious rooms in comparison to 2 and 3 and you are likely to get a single occupancy room in your 3 or 4 years.
Hall 6: This is the girls' hostel which is infamous for its congested rooms and poor location.
Hall 12: This hall has both single and double occupancy rooms and the one you will be allotted depends solely on your luck.
