Fees and Financial Aid:

1 lakh each semester, hike policy is 10 percent per year. Mess fees is around 60k per year. Sc/st student get scholarship- no fees is charged. Job is provided with 24 lpa highest , 18 lpa avg , lowest 12 lpa. No stipend is provided.

IIT Kanpur is a government-funded institute and is an institution of national importance, due to which, the tuition fees are minimalistic. Does the MBA course bear a tuition fee of about? 2.5 lacs for a total of 2 years. Students get an ample amount of opportunities for scholarships from within both colleges as well as from their respective states. A few of my friends had applied for a scholarship from their native states and were granted it by IIT Kanpur. This college is best known for its ROI in MBA. After spending a total of around 2.5 LPA for tuition fees, the average salary stands at 16.6 LPA and the highest stands at around 22 LPA. The average summer internship stipend is 80,000 while the highest is 1.6 lacs. As a result, the ROI stands at around 3 times.

One of the best B-schools in the country for ROI

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee hike policy should not be implemented at MBA IITK. The key differentiator that separates IITK from any other B-school is its amazing ROI. This has always remained a USP and should continue to do so. As the other IITs have increased their fees, it becomes even more important for IITK to stick to its fee structure as it gives the institute an edge over the others and can affect an individual's decision when choosing the college.

Why MBA IIT Kanpur?

Fees and Financial Aid:

A fess hike is unlikely in coming years. So the fee will be the same for at least 3-4 years. There is no financial assistance except for SC, ST has no tuition fees. MBA first years have to do a compulsory internship in the summer term. Stipends for the 21-23 batches varied from 20k to 100k per month. Final Placements are provided by the placement committee for the MBA batch. At the pan IITK level, there are also common placements for all, where you have the opportunity to apply if the company has opened its position for MBA.

Perks of MBA from IITs

The best thing about MBA from IITs is the ROI we get. The fees are the lowest among all the colleges present. But the infrastructure provided is much better than the new IIMs since we get to use all the infrastructure present in the entire IIT and not just our own department.

Is IIT Kanpur MBA worth it ?

The Department of Management Sciences (DoMS, formerly IME) offers MBA at IIT Kanpur. IIT Kanpur is one of the oldest and most renowned IITs, and it stands at 23rd position among the top Management colleges, as per the NIRF 2023 Ranking. I am an MBA student at IIT Kanpur, so I am eligible to answer this question.

Most MBA students on campus have converted XIMB, IMT G, IMI D, DSE, etc.; yet they chose IIT Kanpur over these institutions. The learning pedagogy at IIT Kanpur is really good, and corporate relations are also managed well.

ROI is an added advantage for MBA students at IIT Kanpur. The total fee is approximately INR 3.67 lakhs for a General Category and OBC student, and even less for an SC/ST category student (0 tuition fee for SC/ST/PH category). 

In terms of placements, in 2023, the highest CTC was INR 24 LPA, the average CTC received by the top 50% of students was INR 22.20 LPA, and the median CTC was INR 17.25 LPA. The list of key recruiters included McKinsey & Company, Wells Fargo, Deloitte, PWC, HDFC Bank, and more. Even the lowest CTC was INR 12.41 LPA.
