AITH Admission Dates 2026

Admissions to AITH for the 2026-27 session are governed by UPTAC counselling for B.Tech programmes and JEECUP counselling for Diploma programmes. Both counselling processes are conducted by the respective state admission authorities under AKTU.

AITH Courses and Fees

AITH Kanpur offers six B.Tech programmes and three Diploma programmes across engineering and applied technology disciplines. The fee structure is heavily subsidised, particularly for divyang students who are exempt from tuition fees entirely.

Divyang students pay only the general and administrative fee component, reducing the effective B.Tech cost to INR 77,350 over four years. All Diploma programmes carry zero tuition fees, and the INR 11,530 covers general and examination fees only.

AITH Admission Process

B.Tech Admission

AITH B.Tech admissions are conducted through AKTU’s UPTAC centralised counselling. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST and reserved categories). A valid JEE Main score is mandatory.

• 60% of B.Tech seats are reserved for divyang candidates recognised under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Eligible categories include orthopaedic, visual, hearing, and other notified disabilities.
• Selection stages: JEE Main registration, UPTAC counselling registration, online choice filling, seat allotment, document verification at the reporting centre, and fee payment.
• Candidates claiming divyang reservation must carry a valid disability certificate from a competent government medical authority at the time of document verification.

The UPTAC closing ranks for AITH B.Tech CSE and IT branches tend to fall in the mid-to-upper range of UP state counselling. The low fee structure and government-aided status make AITH relatively competitive within its rank bracket.

Diploma Admission

Diploma programme admissions are handled through JEECUP counselling. All Diploma seats are reserved exclusively for divyang candidates. Eligibility for CSE and Architectural Assistantship is 10th pass with minimum 35%. Diploma in Modern Office Management requires a graduation degree from any recognised university.

Candidates must produce a valid disability certificate at the time of JEECUP document verification and again at admission. Students admitted to Diploma programmes at AITH automatically qualify for the on-campus food subsidy of INR 1,000 per month (subject to hostel enrollment).

Lateral Entry

B.Tech Lateral Entry (3-year) admits Diploma holders in the relevant engineering discipline through UPSEE Lateral counselling under UPTAC. Diploma Lateral Entry (2-year) is available for ITI pass-outs in a related trade through JEECUP Lateral counselling. Lateral entry seats are also governed by the 60% divyang reservation norm for B.Tech.

AITH Placements

AITH Kanpur operates a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that coordinates campus recruitment for B.Tech graduates. The cell conducts pre-placement training in aptitude, communication, and technical skills throughout the final year.

In recent placement seasons, AITH recorded a highest package of INR 19 LPA and an average package of INR 4 LPA, with a minimum offer of INR 2 LPA. More than 150 students received placement offers across recent seasons.

CSE and IT branches account for the majority of campus offers, with the highest packages typically going to CSE and AI/ML graduates. Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology graduates often opt for higher studies or government sector roles alongside campus placements.

AITH Scholarships

AITH Kanpur provides one of the most accessible fee structures among AICTE-approved government engineering institutes in Uttar Pradesh, with a dedicated fee-exemption scheme for divyang students.

In addition to institute benefits, students may apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship for PwD under the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) schemes. Divyang students from SC/ST categories may combine both streams of support. Applications are submitted online through the NSP portal each academic year.

AITH Campus and Infrastructure

The AITH campus is located at Awadhpuri, Kanpur (208024), in the Naramau area, adjacent to Rama Dental College. It is specifically designed as a barrier-free campus with ramp access, wide corridors, and disabled-friendly washrooms across all buildings.

Key facilities include a hostel with universal accessibility features, disability-adapted classrooms and computer laboratories, a library, and a dedicated Training and Placement Cell. Students have access to 24-hour WiFi across the campus. The institute caters to both residential and day-scholar students, with on-campus hostel accommodation for eligible divyang students.

AITH leads decisively on cost for divyang candidates and offers the most disability-specific infrastructure among the three. HBTU Kanpur offers a broader range of engineering programmes, a longer track record of placements, and a NIRF ranking. KNIT Sultanpur is a strong choice for general-category candidates in the mid-UPTAC rank bracket seeking AKTU-affiliated government education at low cost.
