COAP is not an admission portal in itself but a centralized platform that allows registered candidates to view and make decisions on their M.Tech admissions or PSU job offers.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, the organizing institute for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2026, has officially launched the COAP 2026 website. Candidates who have qualified GATE exam in 2024, 2025, or 2026 can now access the official website at coap2026.iitr.ac.in to streamline their M.Tech admissions and PSU recruitment.
The COAP serves as a centralized platform facilitating the distribution of admission offers from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Additionally, several prominent Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) utilize the portal for their recruitment based on GATE scores.
GATE COAP 2026 Registration will begin anytime soon on the official portal. Meanwhile, the allotments will begin on May 11, 2026. A total of 5 main rounds will be conducted, followed by additional decisive rounds.
The registrations are completely free. All participating institutes will request COAP registration number on their M. Tech. admission portal, therefore making COAP registration mandatory for admissions.

The COAP 2026 platform acts as a bridge between high-scoring GATE candidates and India’s premier technical institutions and public sectors.
All premier Indian Institutes of Technology, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Guwahati, along with IISc Bangalore, utilize COAP portal to extend M.Tech/M.S. offers. Newer IITs such as IIT Hyderabad, IIT Gandhinagar, and IIT Indore are also integral parts of this centralized system.
Beyond academia, several leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) use the COAP portal to offer prestigious jobs based on GATE scores. Historically, giants like the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and others have utilized the platform for their recruitment drives.

To register, candidates must ensure they have a valid GATE registration number and score. It is mandatory for applicants to first apply to the individual institutes (IITs/IISc) through their respective websites and then register on the COAP portal to view and accept offers.
Experts suggest that candidates must be cautious during the "Retain and Wait" option, as it allows them to hold an offer while looking for a better preference, but this option can typically only be used twice for a specific offer.
For further updates and a detailed brochure, candidates are advised to visit the official IIT Roorkee COAP 2026 website.
