Thapar University MBA Admission 2027 Begins; Check Last Date to Apply

The LM Thapar School of Management (LMTSM), part of the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), has opened applications for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) 2027-2029 batch. Candidates can submit the online application form on the official admissions portal at mba.thapar.edu.

The last date to submit the application is February 6, 2027. The institute has also announced an extended window up to February 13, 2027 for late applicants. The application fee is Rs 2,000 and is non-refundable under any circumstance.

Payment can be made online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. The two-year full-time MBA programme is offered at the LMTSM campus in Dera Bassi near Chandigarh.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The minimum aggregate required is 50 percent or an equivalent CGPA. SC, ST, and PwD candidates need a minimum of 45 percent.

Candidates with a postgraduate degree carrying at least 50 percent marks are also eligible. Those holding a professional qualification such as CA, ICWA, or ACS with a pass in all sections can apply too. Final-year students awaiting results may apply provisionally.

Which Entrance Exams Are Accepted?

LMTSM accepts scores from a wide range of national-level management entrance tests. This gives candidates multiple pathways to secure admission.

Candidates who do not have a valid national-level test score can appear for the Thapar Management Aptitude Test (TMAT). TMAT is conducted directly by the institute as a standalone pathway.

How Does the Selection Process Work?

Shortlisting is done on the basis of entrance exam scores and academic record. Shortlisted candidates must then complete the final rounds conducted online.

The final selection weighs four components. These are a Group Interaction round, a Personal Interview, a Video Statement of Purpose, and past academic performance. The final merit list is prepared after combining all four parameters.
