IIT Kanpur Phase 1 placements 2025–26 close with 1,202 offers, strong recruiter turnout, and overseas opportunities.

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has successfully concluded Phase 1 of campus placements for the 2025–26 graduating batch, recording strong participation from recruiters across sectors. The drive was conducted through on-campus, virtual, and hybrid modes to ensure wider access. A large number of offers were made and accepted, including international roles, reflecting sustained industry confidence in the institute’s talent pool. Phase 2 placements are scheduled to begin in mid-January 2026.
How Many Offers Were Made and Accepted in Phase 1?
During Phase 1, over 250 organisations participated and extended 1,202 job offers. Students accepted 1,079 offers, which also included Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). The outcome highlights steady demand across domains such as consulting, finance, core engineering, analytics, and technology.
What Stood Out in International Hiring?
A key highlight was 15 students securing international offers from companies based in Europe, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. The IIT Kanpur expects more global opportunities as the placement season progresses in the next phase.

Which Sectors and Employers Participated?
Recruitment saw a healthy mix of domestic and international firms spanning consulting, banking, fintech, aerospace, electronics, e-commerce, and data science. Public Sector Undertakings also played an active role, reinforcing interest in core and government-linked roles.
According to official statement: Institute leadership credited the results to academic rigour, adaptability, and industry readiness of students, along with the Students’ Placement Office (SPO) for managing a flexible process. Officials also acknowledged recruiters for sustained collaboration and reiterated support for students’ long-term career pathways.
Phase 2 placements will commence from mid-January 2026, aiming to create opportunities for remaining students and expand international participation.
Documents typically required for upcoming rounds include updated resumes, academic transcripts, valid IDs, and any role-specific certifications as notified by recruiters.
