IGNOU Admission 2026 (Jan Session) Application Deadline Extended for ODL Programmes; Apply Till March 15

IGNOU admission for the January Session has been extended again for ODL Programmes. Interested candidates can apply online through the IGNOU portal or the direct Link provided below.

IGNOU Admission 2026 (Jan Session) Application Deadline Extended

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the application deadline for the third time for the January 2026 admission session for its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes. Candidates can now submit their IGNOU applications through the official admission portal by March 15, 2026.

The deadline extension is applicable to all ODL programmes, except for Certificate and Semester-based programmes, which are not covered under this extension. Interested applicants can complete their registration through the official Samarth portal (ignouiop.samarth.edu.in).

IGNOU January 2026 admissions are open across Arts, Commerce, Management, Social Sciences, Science & Technology, Education, Tourism, Media Studies, and Vocational disciplines through the ODL mode. The ODL mode enables students, working professionals, and distance learners to pursue higher education with flexible learning options.

Steps to Apply for IGNOU Admission 2026

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the online application:

  1. Candidates should visit the official admission portal ignouiop.samarth.edu.in
  2. Click on the “New Registration” tab on the homepage.
  3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  4. Fill in the application form with personal and academic details.
  5. Upload the required documents
  6. Pay the application fee through the available online payment options.
  7. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Documents required while submitting the application form include a scanned photograph, Signature, Educational Qualification, Experience Certificate (if any), and Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC.

As per the official website, candidates must note that the application fee is non-refundable. The amount equivalent to 15% of the programme fee, subject to a ceiling of INR 2,000, will be deducted from the fee paid in case the request for cancellation is received after the confirmation of admission.
