Placement Experience:
After completing 7th semester students are eligible to sit in campus placements. Almost every tech giant, product based, service based companies do visit our campus with Some international offers in crores and average package of 20 lakhs.But since 2 years the placements have been not up to the mark due to recession

- Sports facilities are very good with very experienced coached.
- Study is very good . Professors gives us very good CPI.
- Placement is very good also good in corona time period.
Dislikes
- There are no coed hostels we can't go to girls hostel in night
- Academic are tough in comparison to other IIT 's
Placement Experience:
The placements in our campus is very good as best companies came here to hire students. Students are eligible from seventh semester for placements. There are around 300 companies who visit and around 1200 offers are made. The average package of my branch is 1800000 and highest of around 50 lakh.

- There are diverse opportunities to learn new things at IITK
- There are good sports and extra curricular facilities as well.
- The alumni network and seniors are great. You can get help regarding anything.
Dislikes
- Almost everyone here is smart resulting in too much competition.
- Sometimes the results of certain club activities are biased.
Placement Experience:
The placement statistics of IITK is great. Every year many 1cr+ packages as well as international packages are offered by top companies to students.
The placement percentage is also increasing every year.
The students become eligible to apply for companies after 3rd year ie. after 6th semester.
The highest package offered was 4cr per annum while the average package was 22lacs per annum.
My plan after getting the degree is to get a good paying job and start working.

- I like the mapping of campus as every important places are nearby the hostels like lecture halls,sports area and food and snacks shop
- I like that there is no restriction in girls entering boys hostel and vice versa
Dislikes
- Outside the campus there is no place to visit as the campus location is outside the main city.
- According to me the academic are tougher in iit kanpur in comparison to other iits.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I decided to choose this course on the basis of my jee advanced rank. So the branch of civil engineering was available in IIT Kanpur so I decided to opt for the following. The faculty to student ratio is also quite good.

- There are a lot of trees providing us a healthy environment to live and study in.
- It provides various other opportunities to shine like in sports music gaming etc.
- The staff is very answerable to the students and the faculty is very good
Dislikes
- Gender ratio is not good enough here in IIT kanpur
Placement Experience:
There campus placements are very impressive. But in our branch the placement have not been started because it is new branch but it have very promising hopes of good employment in the upcoming years. The companies visiting ar Google, Microsoft and many big MNC. I am thinking of doing MBA after my degree .

- They provide us various facilities during our academic time they provide students various scholarships which help financially unstable students I am a beneficiary of their scholarships and I appreciate it a lot
- The campus environment is so good here it has strict zero ragging policy due to which our seniors are so good and they also guide us through our entire journey
Dislikes
- Often it happens that the academic load is too much for students to handle some of the courses are outdated to today's date and they are one of the toughest in India and very less time is given for the courses for example I would say mth 111 is one o
- Although the professors are very helpful but we see that there is not much student to professor interaction but I ID Kanpur is trying to improve it and we can visit Professor in there office hours
- It happens that in our hostels the facility are not as per marks we have only fans installed we don't have a C's or cooler installed which severe summer we suffer a lot and as we have six floors the top floor students suffer severely and our library
Placement Experience:
The placements in my college are quite phenomenal it is one of the best in India average package for my branch mechanical engineering is 20 lakhs where average package median package for all over the college is 26,00,000 per annum it is called good seeing that this year recession had been there many giant companies visit our campus such as Netflix Reliance Sony google Microsoft Facebook Amazon and many good core companies such as Jaguar Mercedes Honda Land Rover so the company come are very good and almost 90% student get placed during placement my plan after getting a degree is to find a job

- The academics here may be tough but they are enjoyable. Professors are good and the cources here train you to be great. They are tough but relevant
- The clubs here provide great exposure to various things. There are both cultural and technology clubs
- The campus is green beautiful great with lots of buildings and facilities. Freedom is high. You have no hostel restrictions.
Dislikes
- Climate is extreme. It's too cold or too hot during winters and summers.
- The grading is harsh you have to work really hard to score.
Placement Experience:
The college offers various placement opportunities. Many companies come and take people. It's usually starts in the month of December in the final year. I can tell about my branch average package is 33 lakhs and about some 90 lakh is highest package. Various tech non teach companies come like Google, Microsoft, sprinkler etc The minimum salary offered is 6 lakh per annum. People can easily get placement outside college because of IIT tag.

- When i visited the college for the first time a year ago, i was astonished by the beautiful campus. The campus was lush green, beautiful and drones and other technical instruments flying and what not. The hostel was also quite nice .
- During my first semester, the academics was not much touch as i had heard of, it was easy and you could pass by starting to study a week before the exams. However, they became slightly tough in the second semester, but it was manageable.
- I have seen my seniors who have been placed in various good companies like microsoft , google etc. There is a student placement office which helps you in your placements. Seniors also guide you and they are very helpful.
Dislikes
- There is not much but the attendance criteria in some courses.
- Some professors are very intelligent but they lack the ability to teach or to convey the knowledge to the students.
- There is not much city life outside the campus as there is in Bombay or Delhi or other metro cities.
Placement Experience:
Placements are good . Some of my seniors are placed in very good companies and almost all students get placed. The student placement office cooperates a lot in your placement year. Various options are available.

- You can pursue anything which you like from sports to any cultural activities
- IIT Kanpur has arts club, music club, aerodynamics club ,etc.
Dislikes
- Everything here happens very quickly so you cannot settle properly
- Full semester happens in about 4 months in which you have midsem and endsem exam
Course Curriculum Overview:
Aerospace Engineering has one of the best curriculum in India.
We have studied and applied almost all the basic techniques which are applied in real world
The only improvement is that the curriculum should be centric to learning and not just grades
Quizzes happen biweekly and their difficulty is moderate

Placement Experience:
7th semester students are eligible for placement and from 5th semester students are eligible for sitting in placement but a student can sit only once in placement and internship drives
More than 200 companies visited campus and around 75% of students get placed in the college at all courses btech mtech MS msc
In year 2023 highest offer is of 2.57 cr and lowest is of 6 lpa

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.
