- Relation between junior and senior, a senior gets allotted 5 freshers to guide them during their campus journey. And these freshers call these seniors as Baapu/Amma
- I love the fests here, you roam around campus during fests quite fun

- Mess food is not as good as expected before entering the college
- Semesters are very hectic here, among all IIT's Kanpur here toughest academics

Placement Experience:
Companies start hiring when students are in 7th semester.i don't remember exactly the companies that came but didn't make any offer but yes some companies do this. Highest package vary from year to year , Last yr it was around 4cr made by Jane Street. Average package remains around 12-14 lpa. Generally 70% student get placed every year.

- Campus life and the sports that have been available here
- othe amneties such as swimming pool and other stuffs
Dislikes
- The academics are very tough in the college
- The profs are good but sometimes mood oriented
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is very simple and diverse in the college. It offers a variety of courses other than your own curriculum and further the courses are very relevant so that you can keep up with the pace.
Likes
- Peoples, College fests, Beautiful Campus, some Professors too.
Dislikes
- Most of the professors do relative grading and sometimes grading is very bad.
Placement Experience:
Due to recession Placements are not that good this year. But things will improve in future. Students usually pursue higher education or do Mtech in their own department and usually almost everyone gets placement here unless and until you opt for higher education.
Likes
- I like swimming and there is a pool available
- I like dancing and there is dance club available
Dislikes
- I don't really like the grading policy of my college.
- There are many irrelevant courses present which I don't find any use of.
Placement Experience:
Placement is very good. Companies like Amazon, Adobe, oracle, Microsoft, optiver, tower research etc come to hire students. They offer a very high package. The average package of my college is 1500000.
Likes
- Sports infrastruction are just too good.
- Professional enviornment and so much of exposure.
Dislikes
- No pink pussies.. only black ones we get
- Academics are so hectic.. its so pressurizing
Placement Experience:
4 crore???,our highest package.. but on an average we ha 15-20L packages.. with a very high percentage of students getting placed.. almost all of the students get placed.. my plans after getting degree is goa party.

- I like the availability of several clubs in our college.
- I like some of the courses taught here like Machine learning.
Dislikes
- I dislike the number of classes held each day.
- I dislike the how grade in a course severally depends on the mood of professor.
Placement Experience:
Placement of our college is nice. This year's placement was affected by the ongoing recession still the around 70-80% of our college got placed. Many companies offered package over 1 crore. The highest package secured is 2 crore.

- I really liked campus life and the freedom.
- I also enjoyed the fests and other acrivities like hall days
Dislikes
- The academics are tough and no gaps inbetween
- Holidays given are very less after papers
Course Curriculum Overview:
Iitk ee is considered to be toughest engineering branch in the country. I think rightly so, course contents are tough and require lot of time and i think exam diffiulty level is also very high and there is lesstime between two exams.
Likes
- The interaction of between juniors and seniors is good.
- I like the availability of several hobby clubs for our interest.
Dislikes
- The exam in our college is very hectic as we get very less time to study
- The grading of courses are totally dependent on professor.
Placement Experience:
The placement of our college is very good. Many companies in the domain of sofware, quant, consulting come to our college. The average package of our college is 15 lakhs.Most of the students who sit in the placement process get placed.
Likes
- The availability of several hobby clubs and societies
- The availability of several scholarship program which make it affordable for anyone to study here.
Dislikes
- There are several irrelevant courses which I don't find any use.
- The grading is solely dependent on the mood of professor.
Placement Experience:
Placements of our college are excellent. It is one of the best among all IITs. In this time of recession our students managed to grab some of the best opportunities this year. This year the highest package secured was 2.3 crores.
Likes
- Academic is very good in IITKANPUR it admired you to join this campus with beautiful lifestyle in the campus.
- Beautiful campus with almost spend in 1300 acres in area wise
Dislikes
- Nothing much to say about this campus in dislike manner

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
