Likes
- When i visited the college for the first time a year ago, i was astonished by the beautiful campus. The campus was lush green, beautiful and drones and other technical instruments flying and what not. The hostel was also quite nice .
- During my first semester, the academics was not much touch as i had heard of, it was easy and you could pass by starting to study a week before the exams. However, they became slightly tough in the second semester, but it was manageable.
- I have seen my seniors who have been placed in various good companies like microsoft , google etc. There is a student placement office which helps you in your placements. Seniors also guide you and they are very helpful.
Dislikes
- There is not much but the attendance criteria in some courses.
- Some professors are very intelligent but they lack the ability to teach or to convey the knowledge to the students.
- There is not much city life outside the campus as there is in Bombay or Delhi or other metro cities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is nice but actually in first year you cannot choose any course. You will get courses as per your branch. For example, my branch was civil engineering so I got Physics 115 and 112 and other department students got other Physics courses. The mid sems and endsems both last a week or 2. They are not much hard and you can easily score higher if you start studying a week before their commencement.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are quite good. Student placement office helps you in your internship . However, you must have a good CPI and skills required for an intern. The companies offer a good stipend and you get to learn a lot.
Placement Experience
Placements are good . Some of my seniors are placed in very good companies and almost all students get placed. The student placement office cooperates a lot in your placement year. Various options are available.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee is normal. However, there are scholarships if your income is low or you are a category student. If your income is less than 1 lakh, you get 100% scholarship. If less than 6 lakes, you only have to pay one third.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good. The campus is lush green with international level sports facilities. Almost all kinds of sports facilities and grounds are there. There are also various clubs and events in which you can participate to build your personality.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are nice but the rooms are slightly small. There is double and triple sharing in the rooms. However, you will become used to it in a month or so. The bathrooms are clean. There are shops and canteen , mess inside the hostel only.
Admission
The admission process is very easy. Participate in JOSAA counselling and fill in the required details . If your rank is good and satisfies the previous years cutoff, you can get admission easily. The JEE advanced which is used as an entrance test for this college is quite tough.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very good. I think it's 1 faculty per 20-30 students. There are classes sometimes from morning till evening including the labs. The teaching assistants will help you in your labs , be it engineering drawing or chemistry or Physics labs. However, Physics labs are slightly boring and hectic which you would realise very soon. However, the faculty are helpful and they will arrange for revision sessions before the exams. They will also give you time that come in my office in this duration to ask doubts if you have any. Approachability to teachers is not as good as it was in your JEE prep. Seniors and colleagues will guide you in most cases.
