Unbaised review of IITK

Recently iid Kanpur has adopted the NEP new education policy before that some of the courses were outdated but now after the application of this policy many courses have become market relevant and many labs have been reduced from workload and core branches and students are offered open electives which they can choose from any branches or they can do project under any professor to increase their research based aptitude and knowledge one aspect where I feel the curriculum can be improved is the time span through which the curriculum is being taught some of the courses are taught for just one or two months but they need 4 to 5 months for being taught due to which students suffer severe academic pressure. We have many quizzes than Midsumm again quizzes and then ends them during our examination and their difficulty level is always hard but we have to study accordingly so sometimes it has pressure on us

Same as placement many company offer internship opportunities in iit Kanpur though the students getting internship are low then the student getting getting placement and stipends vary from 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs and they start even from 5 lakhs and not many student get internship or on campus offers but many students do who prepare well

The placements in my college are quite phenomenal it is one of the best in India average package for my branch mechanical engineering is 20 lakhs where average package median package for all over the college is 26,00,000 per annum it is called good seeing that this year recession had been there many giant companies visit our campus such as Netflix Reliance Sony google Microsoft Facebook Amazon and many good core companies such as Jaguar Mercedes Honda Land Rover so the company come are very good and almost 90% student get placed during placement my plan after getting a degree is to find a job

Although being a government institute IID Kanpur has hiking fees for many courses it has 2.5 lakh fees for tuition fees per year which is significantly high for a government institute but it also offers quality and it also provides severe scholarships to students who are in need we have the Mcm scholarship which is based on merit and financial income status we have just merit scholarship also and many other scholarships are severely offered such as Yuva Yojana and many other scholarships. Complete cost of our education costs 3,00,000 a month I have undertaken many roles in college I have become the company coordinator for the Student Placement Office and Iit Kanpur and the Secretary for the Dramatics Club in IID Kanpur and Secretary for the Games and Sports Council in the students Jim Carnoff IIT Kanpur

My overall experience in campus life is phenomenal I was involved in the dramatics club in iit Kanpur which has a phenomenal culture we had inter hostile events held regularly I performed in the cultural inter hostel event which is known as Galaxy for my hall which is hall 5 and I found it very good I learned various things from my senior and even connected with my seniors a lot due to which we have a never ending bond and this rivalry helps every hostel to improve we have various clubs every club that a child can imagine and every sports facilities and it provides every infrastructure needed for child's overall development in their personality

Admission into IIT Kanpur is done through JEE advanced examination held all over India due for which we have two clear 1st JEE mains examination JEE advanced examination is the toughest examination in India and the toughest examination in the world in which 17,00,000 students apply and only 10,000 students are selected the acceptance rate of iot Kanpur is 0.5 percent then after clearing the examination the admission process was quite smooth we had to pay the counseling fees but it was deducted from our admission fees Reservation has also awarded for SCSTOBC students and general EWS students I feel that admission was quite good and I ac no scope of improvement

here the faculty the student ratio is 1 to 12 but we often see that in first year as courses of all branches are same professors takes class of even 300 to 400 student at that point it impacts their learning but from second year onwards number of student in professors classes are limited so the experience gets improved as we enhance on our ears as we get separated in our departments. IIT Kanpur has one of the best faculties in the world as many faculties have reputed international and national awards this year almost 100 faculty received many international awards even some of the our professors come under top 100 scientists in the world Professors are always open to mentorship and passionately teach their subjects they help us in any way possible. Apart from classes I interact with professors after classes regarding some doubts Professor are always there to offer us some projects and apart from them they help us in our career
