AI-Generated Summary based on 26 Reviews

Fees at Delhi Technological University for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering program vary annually, starting around INR 2,36,700 to INR 2,50,000 in the first year and increasing each subsequent year. The total fee for the complete four-year course is approximately INR 10,36,800. The components of the fees include tuition, co-curricular, facility and service charges, examination, economically weaker section fund, and medical facilities, with the tuition fee itself around INR 1,47,300 in the first year.

Additionally, a deposit of INR 95,000 is required during JAC counseling, which is adjusted against the total fees upon admission. Various scholarships, such as the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship and private scholarships like the Dell Scholarship, provide financial aid based on economic criteria and academic performance, with potential concessions of 50- 100% on tuition fees for eligible families. However, reserved category fee waivers are generally not available, although need-based scholarships help alleviate costs.

The hostel and mess fees are separate from the academic charges.

DTU B.Tech CSE FAQs

Ques. What JEE Main rank is required for B.Tech CSE at DTU?

Ans. B.Tech CSE at DTU is one of the most sought-after branches through JAC Delhi counselling. The closing rank for General category candidates is typically in the lower thousands at the Delhi zone, while it varies significantly for OBC, SC, and ST categories. For accurate cutoffs, check the previous year’s JAC Delhi closing ranks for CSE at DTU published on the official JAC portal at jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in.

Ques. What companies recruit B.Tech CSE graduates from DTU?

Ans. DTU B.Tech CSE graduates are recruited by a range of technology companies during campus placement drives. Firms operating in software development, product engineering, IT services, fintech, and e-commerce actively hire from DTU. Many graduates also receive offers from startups and mid-size tech firms in Delhi NCR, while high-ranking students attract offers from global technology product companies. Placement figures vary each year.

Ques. Does DTU B.Tech CSE cover AI and machine learning in the curriculum?

Ans. Yes, the B.Tech CSE curriculum at DTU includes courses in machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and data structures and algorithms. Elective courses in advanced AI topics, natural language processing, and computer vision may be available in higher semesters. Students can also pursue research projects with faculty in these areas, and many students build AI-focused capstone projects in their final year.

Ques. What is the total fee for B.Tech CSE at DTU?

Ans. Total fees for B.Tech CSE at DTU over four years are INR 11,09,800. Year 1 fee is INR 2,47,700 (includes one-time admission charges), Year 2 is INR 2,68,700, Year 3 is INR 2,86,700, and Year 4 is INR 3,06,700. Hostel is charged separately. SC/ST students domiciled in Delhi can apply for fee reimbursement through the Delhi Government Post-Matric Scholarship scheme.

Ques. Is 85% seat reservation for Delhi candidates a hard rule at DTU CSE?

Ans. Yes, DTU follows the JAC Delhi seat matrix where 85% of seats in all branches, including CSE, are reserved for candidates who completed Class 12 from schools within the NCT of Delhi. The remaining 15% of seats are available for candidates from outside Delhi. This reservation applies uniformly across all JAC Delhi participating institutes including DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, and IIIT-Delhi.

Ques. Can students from outside Delhi get B.Tech CSE admission at DTU?

Ans. Yes, 15% of seats in B.Tech CSE at DTU are open to candidates from outside Delhi through JAC Delhi counselling. However, the closing rank for non-Delhi candidates is usually much lower (higher JEE score needed) compared to Delhi-region candidates, since competition for the smaller quota is intense. Non-Delhi students should target a strong JEE Main score for a realistic chance at DTU CSE under the open quota.

DTU: 2 Answered Questions

Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

Sanjana KapoorLives in New Delhi

The choice depends on what matters the most to you.

If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.

I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Are courses in DTU and NSIT flexible? Can students from lower branches study a minor in C.S. easily?

Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

As an NSUT student, the new CBCS (choice based credit system) allows you to choose your fields of study. This makes for more flexible courses. Also, NSUT has an excellent coding environment which will help you for your minor in Computer Science. Many students over there pursue coding, despite being from a branch other than IT/COE.

In DTU, you will have electives starting from 5th semester. These are department and general electives. IIIT Delhi offers the most flexible courses. Other than some fixed category credits, all the subjects are choice based.

Thus, in terms of providing flexible courses, this is the order of preference- IIITD> NSUT>DTU.
