DTU Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 1830 Reviews

The faculty at Delhi Technological University (DTU) is diverse and largely well-qualified, with many holding PhDs from prestigious institutions like IITs and IIMs. The faculty-student ratio is approximately 1:15 to 1:80, depending on the department, allowing for interactive sessions. Faculty members are generally approachable, supportive, and willing to assist students beyond academic requirements, although experiences may vary across departments. The curriculum includes courses divided into 1.5-credit (10 classes) and 3-credit (20 classes) formats and follows a relative grading system with exams occurring twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).

While some faculty members are highly regarded for their teaching and support, others are noted for being less engaging or outdated in their teaching methods. The faculty's commitment to student growth is evident, though there are occasional issues with marking strictness and course relevance to industry standards. Overall, the faculty is capable of guiding students effectively, but self-study and initiative are encouraged for optimal learning.

DTU: 2 Answered Questions

Is NIT Delhi going to become as good as DTU and NSIT (or even better) in the future in terms of placements, faculty, and campus life?

Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

NIT Delhi was established in 2010 and is still struggling to make its mark in the education world. As for your question, if NIT Delhi will reach the level of DTU and NSIT soon, I feel that it certainly will. The following points support my stance further

  • Every year, NIT Delhi has at least one student who gets ranked under 100 in GATE
  • A student of NIT Delhi has gone for GSOC more than one time and is now a CERN(European Organisation for Nuclear Research)Geneva.
  • NIT DELHI has highly qualified teachers and one of them worked in NASA, ISRO, and Japanese space organizations and then finally became a professor at NIT Delhi.
  • NIT Delhi's first convocation ceremony’s Guest of Honor was Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
  • The students here actively participate in research work and the Director itself has published 300 research papers in International/National journals.
  • One of NIT Delhi's alumni has the honor of joining IIM Indore.
  • NIT Delhi placement 2021 recorded an 88% placement percentage and top companies like Adobe, Amadeus, Avalara, and Code Nation visited the campus.
  • NIT Delhi has the second fastest internet in India.

NIT Delhi may be lacking in terms of campus and alumni but it’s nothing that cannot be improved in the years to come!

How is the faculty at DTU?

Collegedunia Team
Dev kumar Dahiya

Faculty to student ratio is around 1:20 in my batch. Teachers were very supportive. I really liked the Prof. Mahji Sir who taught us Automobile engineering. His way of teaching really cleared my understanding how an IC engine works and function. I didnt like the Electrical department, they have strict marking scheme and exam is really tough There are approximately 5-6 exams in mid semester and then 5-6 exams in end semester (it may change according to the credits choses per semester)
