  • The core topics include an understanding of analog transmission, basic electronics, solid state devices, microprocessors, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression.
  • Course Structure of BTech ECE is an introductory course for electrical engineering students where students study a series of core courses along with elective subjects which cover the concepts of telecommunications, energy and electronics sectors.
  • The delivery method includes an integrated study of topics through classroom lectures, practical, laboratory works, workshops, research programs and internships.
  • The course is intended to impart knowledge of principles underlying communication systems.
  • The course covers all the arenas of all electrical and communication study educating students with different topics like Integrated Electronics, fields and waves etc.

Why BTech ECE?

BTech ECE equips students with the key competencies required to excel in long-term career goals.

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the streams where you adapt practically pretty much all the concepts of science.
  • It is among the few other streams that gives you this diverse yet paltry information on all the fields.
  • Creation of specialised networking systems and equipment called value added services. Call diversion, video conferencing to bind people all over the world.
  • Candidates expecting their shortcoming is in learning the programming dialects or lean toward a no coding stream, would by and large be taking this stream, not to overlook them, winding up in a product firm and turning into an engineer.
  • Also, people who aren't so secure with which field to seek after their profession would pick this, since they have a choice of picking either the product or the equipment side.
  • After graduation, an EC engineer is qualified to work in either core electronics job as well as a Contact Service Provider or Vendor Job.

Campus Life

Essentially, my time at NIT Delhi has been really good. From a social point of view, the campus is a place where a friendly and cooperative atmosphere is established and the students, who come from the different backgrounds, are forming clubs, technical societies, and cultural groups. On the one hand, through participation in the great range of events such as tech fests, coding competitions, and cultural festivals, the students' skills of teamwork and networking are enhanced. Moreover, the members of these clubs get the opportunity to work with their own hands on the topics in areas such as Robotics, Coding, Entrepreneurship, and Photography besides their academic activities. The construction is up to the mark but is still developing, with good quality classrooms, labs, hostels, sports facilities, Wi-Fi, and libraries. Some facilities are still under construction, but the campus is effectively managing the balance between the academic rigor and social, cultural, and technical engagement, which is very important for the students to develop both personally and professionally. Literally, the campus life at NIT Delhi is great and it is a source of motivation and support throughout the year.

Placement Experience

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for college is 6.46lac which is divided as 3.23 lac per sem only as tuition fees apart from this there is hostel fees around 43k and mess fees around 18k and both hostel and mess fees is mandatory for all the students At the time of application form you need to pay 2k which is non refundable and to confirm the seat in counselling process you need to advance payment 25k which if taken admission will be adjusted in sem1 fees There is also a merit based schoralship of 35k for which student have to maintain minimum of 9.25cgpa and the scholarship will be given in next sem fees. The fees structure is common and transparent for all the categories means there is no relaxation provided for the special or reserved categories Additionally the college doesn't have any management quota which means there is no management seats or extra fees Important note is that every year tuition fees may be subject to max increment up to 10%

Placement Experience

Fees and Financial Aid

yearly fees of my clg is around ?2,17,000 which covers everything, while there are no external scolarship but the clg itself follows an income-based waiver policy where students from families earning above ?8 lakhs per year pay the full fees, below ?8 lakhs get a 50% and lower than ?4 lakhs revcieves about 90% of waive; over full years the totals fees for a full-paying student comes to about ?8.7 lakhs, other stuff like PGs and Flat and Food all that expense depends on you and you can add it depending on the area and how u are wishing it to be like

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Day-to-day classes are handled by well qualified research oriented faculty with the institute reporting a student full-time teacher ratio around 19 is 21 and 20 2021 and an ongoing plan to move towards 15 is to 1, which matches the on ground fear of good access during office hours Mandatory disclosures and strategic plans indicate permanent faculty student ratio Regular use of LMS platform such as model and et cetera, together with faculty living on campus, makes it simple to reach instructor, instructors for clarifications, project guidance, or remedial sessions outside the lecture hours Best classroom experiences typically from senior CSE and some maths instructors whose courses emphasise regression problem set and project driven evaluation which aligns with the programs, of IIT Kanpur ECE teaching quality is more mixed with very research, strong faculty, but variable lecturing clarity. Even after attending the lectures. Students have to sometimes rely on tutorials and peer notes from external sources .

Course Curriculum Overview

Clear semester wise plans with course in programming systems, algorithms, databases and AIML plus tied labs and early elections were major resources to prefer There is flexibility to select programs and open electives, enabling personalised depth in emerging area The institute encourages up to semester long industry or research internships and offers multiple internship avenues formalized via policy and rubrics The UG manual allows overloads for fast track progression and recognise reading courses and exchange pathways, helping advanced learners, accelerate or customise their learning Attendance is mandated at 75% and courses follow continuous evaluation with quizzes, assignments, labs, semi exam, examination, and semester examination specified in each course outline and governed by the UG rules Make up exam provisions and transparent component weightage is reduce one short risk though missing internals can still impact grade significantly

Fees and Financial Aid

My college programs fee structure is categorised into various parts needed throughout grauadtion such as tuition fees, caution, Deposit, registration fees, administration, fees, development fees, Lab charges, and other mandatory charges as per student category. On average, the overall fees to be paid in this my stream are approximately 8,96,000, which is usually in term of annual tuition fee, equally spread over 3 to 4 years, depending upon that particular course and institution. Did using the charges that fees of tuition constitutes the major portion and it is paid every year from 2,24,000 per annum. There are other charges like question Deposit, which are fun time payment made during admission and which can claimed after completion, of course, provided all dues are cleared. Campus Life

My overall experience with campus life at NIT Agartala has been really memorable. The campus is very green and spacious, which makes it a good environment to live and study in. On the social side, hostel life is the best part — we bond a lot with friends, celebrate festivals together, and there’s always some activity going on that keeps the energy alive. I’ve also been involved in different clubs and societies, like cultural clubs, technical clubs, and sports. The college has big annual fests — Moksha (cultural) and Aayam (technical) — where you really get to see the talent and energy of the students. These events gave me a chance to work in teams, handle responsibilities, and also enjoy a lot. In terms of infrastructure, we have decent classrooms, labs, a big library, sports grounds, and hostels. Some areas could definitely improve, like Wi-Fi in hostels and mess food, but overall the facilities are good enough to support both academics and extracurriculars.

Placement Experience

Placements in NIT Agartala are actually decent, especially for the top branches like CSE, IT, ECE, Mechanical, and Electrical. Every year many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Capgemini, Deloitte, Microsoft, etc. visit the campus. The average package is around 7–8 LPA for CSE/ECE, while core branches get slightly lower, and the highest goes up to 40+ LPA in some years. For other branches like Civil, Chemical, and Production, the placements are a bit lower, but students still manage through campus plus off-campus drives. What I like is that the placement cell is active, and we also get internship opportunities in our 3rd year which help us prepare.

Faculty

It is very good and the ratio is 1:20 . It means for every 20 member there will be one faculty available, it is like there mentor if they face any issues the faculty will solve them. The faculty is very approachable and supporatable. They teach about not only academic and but also morals. They help us to gain theoretical and as well as practical knowlegde.I like one of the faculty named Varun sir because he try to make student understands and not in a theoretical way but also practically and to be proved.Siddartha sir ,Sumitha mam and ravi sir are one of the best faculty.I did not like one of the faculty member named keerthy because she dont understands students and make the students put in dilemma with her teachings i think she have knowledge but she did not know how to show her talent..There will be 2 mids per every semseter and 8 semesters per four year course. If we write the exams in mid well then it will be easier per semester .Most of the students are passed in the around 80 percent students clear their exams in their first attempt itself. The course curriculum id very good according to the industry needs and emerging technologies the course curriculum is changed. It will be very helpul for the students when they joined in industries or jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

At my joining I have paid 50000 per year only for the academics and for hostel I have paid around 60000 per year. The tution fee per year is 50000/- and there will be university fee as well around 1500/- per year and there will be exam fee per every semester sround 1300/- and there will be transportation fee if he or she is dayscholar and it will be based the distance from the college based on the place. There is scholarship also provided by the government and the fee will be paid by the government to those who are eligible for scholarship. The fee also increases not academically but based on the performamce of the college base on their growth .There are new courses came into limelight those are artificial Intelligence and data science for these courses there will be chnage in the tution fee .the tution fee be like 60000 per annum .Based on the Eamcet rank the student got admission oin the college there will be schmes like vidhyadeevena are eligible for those students. There we directly get admission in the college by paying donation around 2,00,000 per four year course .

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum's relevance is a little bit not up to the mark. We are being taught useless things of the past and we are being taught the same things again and again. Instead of this we could be taught about some recent advances in technology that too in detail

The faculty are good upto their knowledge. Many professors have completed thier Phd and teaches their experience to the students. They guide their students in the right way. Eventhough there are some faculties who are not fit and showing partiality. If students make any compliants after each semester there is no action taken.

Ques. I got NIT Surathkal ECE and IIIT Bangalore CSE. I am joining IIIT Bangalore CSE, is it a good decision?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 14 Sept 23

Ans. This is a very subjective question. However, as a student of ECE at NIT Surathkal, I am writing down a few points in defense of my degree- First of all, NIT Surathkal offers a much more complete and diversified engineering education. This is because you will get to interact with the students of various disciplines from around the institution. This will offer a good exposure in contrast to the IIITs which are entirely focused on CSE and ECE branches. ECE is the branch of the future. CSE is turning more and more into a commodity. This is due to the dilution of its educational standards, and the increasing volume of students in this branch.  As an ECE student, you can always learn programming (it is in fact a part of the curriculum in a limited manner). However, it is much more difficult to learn the concepts of ECE as a CSE student.  As an ECE student you can be placed in a software company, but as a CSE student you can’t work in the E&C field.  Both the colleges are good, but NITK holds more prestige because it is much older. Its campus is very impressive as well. But even IIIT Bangalore CSE is a great option. Once you’ve made a decision, stop seeking others’ opinions. Instead, work on your skill enhancement. Considering the sheer lack of core jobs in the electronics sector in India and the huge placement opportunities in the IT sector, your choice is good from a placement point of view. Read more

Ques. How is ABES EC as an engineering college and what are its downfalls?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Sharma on 10 Mar 22

Ans. Overall ABES EC is an average engineering college at best. Here are some of the pros and cons of joining the institutes.  Pros:  It has great infrastructural facilities. There is centralized AC for all blocks in the whole college. The lush green campus will soothe your eyes. The hostel accommodation is well furnished and maintained regularly.  There are many food courts that sell good quality food at reasonable prices. The campus has a big stadium that conducts different cricket matches. Some of the faculty members are cooperative and student-friendly.  The ABES EC placement scenario is decent. The average CTC offered to students is around INR 6 LPA. There are many clubs like Samvaad Theatre Group, Technovation, etc. in which you can take part.  Cons:  ABES EC has a strict 75% attendance rule. Failing to maintain this can lead to detention.  The institute calls parents if they don’t attend your class.  The hostel curfew timing for girls is strict. You need to be inside the hostel premises at 6 pm during winter and 6:30 pm during summer.  The video will take you on a tour across the ABES Capus Overall, your time at ABES EC will be a bittersweet one. Read more

Ques. How are the ECE placements at Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Tania Sharma on 03 Aug 23

Ans. In general, there are very limited core placement opportunities in ECE because of the limited scope in this field especially in India. ECE placements at Thapar University are no different. As a whole, ECE placements here are decent because mostly consultancies and management visits for recruitment. The only issue is that core jobs are very less. But on the bright side, students of Thapar University can sit for placements in all branches thereby opening more gates of opportunities for them. This makes up for the lack of core jobs.  I asked a friend about the placements scenario of ECE and she shared a few pieces of information Around 60-65% of students get placed in the ECE department. The highest salary package offered is 30 LPA,  The lowest salary package is 4 LPA,  The average salary package is 6 LPA to 7 LPA.  Top Recruiters are Amazon, WDC Gameskraft, McKinsey, JP Morgan, etc.  Around 75% of students get internship offers in roles such as SDE, member of technical staff, and quant. In all, ECE placements at Thapar University are average. Read more

Ques. How is ECE in IIIT Hyderabad?

● Top Answer By Souvick Gupta on 02 Aug 23

Ans. The ECE program at IIIT Hyderabad is more focused on IT than Electronics because IIIT Hyderabad itself is an IT institute. Other colleges have a lot of non-IT courses in the first year  of their ECE program whereas IIIT Hyderabad ECE has no such courses in the firsts year  ECE stands for many things in different places. ECE in IIIT is Electronics and communication engineering. However, unlike Electronics in other institutes. IIIT Hyderabad ECE program does not include courses such as electrical machines, electric drives, power systems, power electronics, and related labs and workshops.  The students of both ECE and CSE at IIIT Hyderabad are taught common courses sin the first year after which students can take CS courses as electives. Some of these include Statistical Methods in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Artificial Neural and Networks (ANN).   IIIT Hyderabad does not have official CS and ECE departments enabling students from any stream to join any research center irrespective of the program they are enrolled in.  IIIT Hyderabad ECE placements are great Placement % 100% Highest CTC  INR 46 LPA Average CTC  INR 29 LPA Lowest CTC INR 13 LPA Overall, ECE at IIIT Hyderabad is certainly a great choice!Read more

Ques. Which is better NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE?

● Top Answer By Arnav Roy on 24 Jul 23

Ans. NIT Trichy is always considered superior to its counterparts and rightly so. The institute has a record of excellent placements, a competitive environment, and a highly learned faculty pool. NIT Calicut is well-known for its exceptionally good CSE department.  So, I think the decision of choosing between  NIT Trichy ECE and NIT Calicut depends more on personal preferences than the institute. However you would like to consider the following points before making the final decision, ECE is a bit more challenging than CSE in terms of the curriculum and the opportunities offered. However, hard work and assistance from faculty can help you. CSE on the other hand is an evergreen branch that has a record of providing hefty packages and great opportunities in general. NIT Trichy has a difficult campus life owing to its extremely hot climate and remote location. NIT Silchar has a pleasant climate with a beautiful lush green campus.  If you look at the overall picture, both colleges have excellent departments and offer similar opportunities, so the major determining criteria should be your branch preference. If you are interested in electronic systems and communication, go for NIT Trichy ECE but if you have an interest in programming NIT Calicut CSE is better for you.Read more

Ques. How is NIT Jalandhar for ECE?

● Top Answer By Vibhu Sharma on 02 Jan 23

Ans. Avoid choosing NIT Jalandhar if your goal is to study ECE for the sake of studying ECE sincerely and devotedly. ECE at NIT Jalandhar emphasizes placement, specifically in an IT company. As an ECE student, you'll be expected to perform exceptionally well in coding and other CSE-related courses. Additionally, the compensation packages provided by core businesses fall well short of what an ECE student would expect, further decreasing the appeal of ECE core. It is recommended that you choose another institute if you're passionate about electronics and want to pursue a successful career in the field rather than NITJ.Read more

Ques. How is DTU for ECE?

● Top Answer By Atrisa Dutta on 14 Aug 20

Ans. The ECE branch at DTU is very competent. It has a pool of talented, intelligent, and hardworking students. The reason being that the cutoffs for ECE usually are high. DTU ECE students get placed every year in MNCs like Qualcomm, SanDisk, TI, Samsung, and other such reputed firms that hire electronics engineers. A good percentage of the students also pursue an MS from renowned universities across the globe. Students also prepare for competitive exams like CAT, GATE, UPSE CSE, and even succeed in them. The faculty here is very knowledgeable and teaches lucidly. They are also very lenient in their evaluation. The curriculum is entirely focused on hardware, communication, computer architecture, advanced integrated circuits, signals and systems, superior probability, networking, and control systems. This is just a broad classification, the actual curriculum is vast, and students can find a lot of interesting sub-fields in electronics. The only drawback of the curriculum is that it does not offer any CSE electives. Assignments are scarce and can be efficiently dealt with as the solutions are readily available from various sources. The workload is at the bare minimum level. The exams require just a couple of weeks of diligent studying. For the rest of the semester, one is free to explore his/her skills, hobbies, and interests. 75% and above GPA is straightforward to achieve and maintain. Pushing a bit more during the exam period can fetch even 80% and above. This all makes the college life here very exciting and rewarding. To sum up, ECE at DTU is a good option that can be exercised if one compares among the top NITs.Read more
