While if you are a DASA student or international student fees is almost 4 times but you could heavy scholarships reducing it to normal pricing. Overall ROI is really good and university is affordable

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio :- 1:60(almost) As in my first sem i got DC Meena sir who helped every student put a lot of effort, on each student and made sure everyone does good and eventually only 3 out of 84 students failed but sir being good didnt failed them too and handed over some assignments to them and eventually passed them so that noone gets bad grades I hated RS Mishra sir as he failed 56 students out of 84 considering back fees so high what would students do and he is not ready to listen anything, so rude, sent his phd scholar in almost every class never taught us just ruthlessly failes students One mid sem is taken and one end sem is taken, mid sem is average level and end sem is very high level Mis sem is of 20/25 marks and end sem is of 40/50 marks according to subject wether it includes lab work or not

Campus Life

My overall campus life was quite positive and balanced between academics and social activities. The college provided a good environment for students to interact, collaborate, and build friendships through various events and daily campus interactions. There were several student clubs such as technical clubs, cultural clubs, and sports teams which helped students explore their interests beyond academics. I participated in technical events and college fests which helped improve teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while also making campus life enjoyable. The social atmosphere on campus was friendly and supportive, making it easy for students from different backgrounds to connect and work together. In terms of infrastructure, the college had well-maintained classrooms, laboratories, a central library with a good collection of books and digital resources, and dedicated spaces for seminars and workshops. The campus also had sports facilities, open areas for student gatherings, and basic amenities like Wi-Fi, cafeteria, and study spaces which supported both academic and recreational activities. While some facilities could benefit from modernization and upgrades, overall the infrastructure and campus environment provided a comfortable and productive space for learning and student life.

Faculty

The faculty in the college are well qualified and most have good know how of their core field. The fac to stud ratio is near 1:15 which helps in good class link and easy doubt clear. Most fac are easy to talk to and help stud with proj work, labs and exam prep. Some of the best fac in the dept were Dr Ravi Kumar, Prof Suresh and Dr Meena as they used clear teach ways, real life ex and gave good guide in proj work. They also gave time to stud out of class hours. A few fac were not liked by some stud as their teach style was more theory based and class talk was less clear, which made some topics hard to grasp. The course plan is well set and has both core and lab based sub that help stud gain tech skill. The plan is in line with uni rules and gives base for both jobs and high study. The exam sys has two mid sem tests and one end sem exam for each sem. Marks are split with near 40% from mid tests, assign and lab work and 60% from the end sem exam. The exams are of mid to high level and most stud who keep up with class and lab work are able to pass. A small set of stud may fail in tough sub but they can clear them in sup exams. The course plan is quite apt for eng study and helps build both theory know how and real use skill.

There are two mega event are held in college one is Vishwotsav and other is Vishwakarandak. Vishwotsav is more oriented towards dance and music thing and even has dress code at the event and is held in april. Vishwakarandak is more oriented towards sports and even you can participate in that by paying small amount between 50 to 100. There is 1 floor dedicated for library and and has many journals and projects which are one of the best. At classrooms there are just smartboards in name of technology and others are common table and chairs. There are approx. 100 clubs in the college in differnt aspects which I consider one of the best thing. And other than that much more supportive colleagues at college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no merit cum scholarships, just government based scholarships are there. For any student loan you can apply it from another outside option. I have paid full fees which includes ?188000/- and have not been eligible for any government based scholarships. If you are SC/ST you will have to play approx. ?9000/- and other than that you will get ?20000/- from the government after 1st semester. If you are OBC or General low income student fees is approx. ?100000/- and will get around ?10000/- from the government after 1 semester.

* Annual Day of the college is celebrated every year in April month and many other events such as Sarawati Puja, Holi, Diwali, Viswakarma Puja, Independence Day, Republic Day and Sports Day are also celebrated every year and also fresher parties are organised for new students. * Almost every book of all departments are available in library with seperate sections for different subjects and we can also borrow books for 15 days on our library card. * Smart classrooms are available for required subjects and almost every tools and machines related to my department are available there. Also a workshop is provided for us where we are give information about tools and how to use them. * Feild for cricket basketball and other outdoor games are provided in the college campus and every year sports day is organised in which almost every kind of summer games are played. * No such groups, clubs, or student portals were formed by students because we didn't need to form any, all us were united and we have never faced any situation so that we can form any groups. If any problem arises our faculties supported us with it and tried to manage it without any disturbance.

Faculty

*Faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:30. From my point of view relation between me and my teachers were quite friendly and I always seen them supporting students in everything possible, and they always did their best to maintain such relationship. *Arupanand Mohanty was HoD of my department and he always helped and supported me during my college and still he is always ready to support me. Among the best faculties of my college I would like to keep name of Arupanand Mohanty sir at the top then Tapan Panda Sir, Biswajit Sir, Sumit Sir, are some the best faculties of my college. All faculties are good but as they are from the beginning of the college they know how to deal to students and what to do for them. * Any such faculty name I would not like to mention as every faculties had a good relation with me and they all always supported me. * In total there are 8 semesters in four years, the semester exams are moderate and with good studies it can be cleared easily. The first seven semesters is written and the last semester i.e., in 8th semester we have to submit project associated with our studies and department.

In this time everyone is choosing computer science stream, the number of students in this stream is 600+ the competition is very high. I think thoroughly And choose Mechanical stream current in this branch has approx 30 students in 2026-26. The competition will be less than others and Mechanical branch students got confirm placement apportunity in there is no active backlog. This things influence me. And also I have my own interest in this branch.

Faculty

Some teachers have a very good behaviour towards students and some don't. Overall teacher and faculty behaviour is good. I like the faculty - Manish RK Sahu Sir and Akash Jain Sir, teachers teachers behaves very good towards students. I don't like the faculty - Jitendra Verma Sir because of rude behaviour towards students and other faculties

Campus Life

The campus life is extremely exhausting, and mundane. There are hardly any events and the instituition timings are extremely tiring on the body making lectures unberable. There are good clubs and committees for all students. The infrastructure is decent but not that good. Washrooms are dirty, there is no mineral drinking water, some classes don't have ACs or Coolers. Some labs lack basic equipments.

Faculty

Almost all the professors are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They are dedicated towards their students and make sure that each student is able to understand the concept and they prepare their students for exams well. However, some professors are not experienced enough making their teaching a bit hard to understand.

There are many clubs in our college that are very active and are actively performing all sorts of fun and interesting activities for students. Our annual fest is Agnee that happens near October and Tech Fest is Epitome which is scheduled for March. Library is very big with all sorts of books with easy access along with the access for research papers. Sports fest is also here namely Aujasya. Students learn to communicate, bring sponsorship, to collab with bigger teams which is very nice experience.

Faculty

Faculty is abundant an well distributed among all the branches. Student faculty relationship is very good, faculty is nice and sweet with all the students there is no bias for any regions or place. Best faculties according to me are Dr. Ram, Dr. Edwin and Dr. Hari. There is no faculty in general that I don't like they are all giving their best and appreciate their efforts. Exams range from moderate to extremely difficult but with enough preparation one can excel them easily

Course Curriculum Overview

Demand of industry 4.0 influenced me on that time to choose their courses as many improved machineries are there like CIM device where we can do lathe operation by sitting from anywhere in the world via G and M codes. The most unique thing the college has is the pdp ( personality development program ) initiatives in college which make students future ready so that they can face any interview with their soft skills, which are very much essential for todays job times. Many improvements are needed like giving focus equally on all depertments as many good teachers are there and always take feedbacks from students as well as giving focus on feedbacks. Integration of animated study with college academic study will make it more interesting. Mid term was taken which was easy in level and also end term was taken comparatively was tougher and failing is there.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is 1:60. Relationship between faculty and student is very good and faculties are highly qualified and expert in their domains but some faculties are not as much as good in knowledge . During my time one faculty was there who was a person of great thinker namely Dr manish kumar Lila and along with him allrounder in mechanical domain is there namely Gaurav Joshi are too good in teaching as well as their friendly gesture makes communication soothfull. One faculty name Pankaj Negi was there was not so much good in teaching and I personally donot like him because of his lacking knowledge in his domain. Semester exams are there they are medium in range of quality and many students fail also and gave back exams for clearing but it was a good initiative as it help in improving them. Course curriculum is UGC oriented.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a first year student B tech manit student at MANIT Bhopal. The annual institute fees is around 1.5 lakh for general /OBC students with family income above 5 lakh . The fee includes tuition fee, registeration fee, examination fee, library and lab charges and other compulsory institute charges . In the first year the fee is slighlty higher due to one time admission and caution charges. From second year onwards the yearly fee reduces a little and then remains almost stable, with a small chance of marginal increase as per institute policy. Hostel and mess charges are seperate, hostel fee is 23000 and mess is run by students and its fee is 27500 For other categories SC/ST get 100% fees waiver and pay only insitute and hostel charges Student with family income below 1 lkh get full tuition fee waiver and those under 1 to 5 lakh income get 2/3 waiver under the merit cum means scheme . Some students also receive central sector scholarship based on merit and income Overall , the course is reasonable affordable for an NIT ,especiallly with available scholarship

Campus Life

My overall experience with campus life at Jorhat Institute of science and technology has been balanced and realistic. The campus environment is calm and academically focused with students who have fewer distractions and more time to work on their studies and personal goals. Socially campus life is simple, but active in its own way. Students mainly bond through classrooms, hostsels, common hangout spots, during college events, while the social scene is not as vibrant as that of Metropolitan colleges. JIST has several student clubs and societies related to cultural activities, technical interest and sports. This clubs provide opportunities to participate in events, develop leadership skills and work as a team. However, the level of activity depend upon student initiative, clubs become more engaging when students actively contribute rather than relying entirely on the administration. The infrastructure here is decent and functional. Academic buildings, classroom laboratories and the library meet basic requirement for engineering education. Labs are adequate for coursework. Overall campus life at JIST is more substance oriented. It may not offer luxury infrastructure or a glamorous college experience, but it provides a stable environment where students can focus on academics, build meaningful connections and grow on their own effort. How much student benefits from a campus life here largely depends on how actively they choose to participate.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees per semester is around 8k and it varies every semester but it is under 8k excluding the hostel admission fees which we have to pay every year which is also around 8k so for the hostellers the fees is 16k in odd semester and 8k in even semester

Ques. Should I choose JU computer or IIT BHU Mechanical?

● Top Answer By Priya Jha on 31 Jul 24

Ans. I am a B.Tech Mechanical second year student at IIT BHU. Here is a comparison between CSE at JU and Mechanical at IIT BHU for your reference:   Parameters Jadavpur University CSE IIT BHU Mechanical  Average Package (2023) INR 21.60 LPA INR 21.95 LPA Highest Package (2023) INR 46.38 LPA INR 91.19 LPA Top Recruiters on Campus Amazon, Wells Fargo, etc.  Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Hero, Tata, etc.  Tuition Fee INR 20,840 (4 years) INR 8 lakhs (4 years) Topics of Study software development, algorithms, data science, artificial intelligence and technology. mechanics, thermodynamics, manufacturing and design. Future Job Prospects  software engineers, data scientists, and IT professionals. Profiles in the automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and energy sector.    Also, roles in design, analysis and maintenance of mechanical systems.   I chose Mechanical Engineering at IIT BHU because it is a part of the prestigious IIT network. As a result, IIT BHU offers a strong academic and research environment. The Mechanical department of IIT BHU is well-established and offers good placements and industry connections.   With a bit more dedication, you can learn coding on the side while studying Mechanical Engineering at IIT BHU. This will ensure decent placements in the IT sector for you, in case you decide on opting for that domain in the future.    I would recommend you choose IIT BHU Mechanical over CSE at JU simply because IIT BHU will offer you much more exposure and better placements.Read more

Ques. What is the admission process at Bachelor of Engineering [BE] BITS Goa?

● Top Answer By Venkata Surya Aakash Satyavada on 15 Apr 25

Ans. I applied to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and VIT apart from BITS. I got confirmed admission into VIT while the process for other colleges was ongoing. I withdrew from the process of other as soon as I got into BITS. I also withdrew my application from VIT. I chose this college over other colleges is because BITS is known for its excellence and great alumni network . It also has one of the most successful statistics of placements over other private colleges. The admission to BITS is done through BITSAT. It takes place every year along with Jee Mains and Jee Advance . The cutoffs vary every year for the courses and can be easily found on Google. This exam is of high eminence and is held high in place along with the JEE exams. After scoring well, the course selection and campus selection process is done through BITS's own portal and is solely based on the marks you score in BITSAT.Read more

Ques. How are the placements for Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Mechanical Engineering) at BITS Goa?

● Top Answer By Venkata Surya Aakash Satyavada on 15 Apr 25

Ans. Students can start sitting in placements from the start of 4th year , when the Placement Division starts bringing companies to the campus. The average package for CS is around 20-26 LPA, for Electrical branches it's around 18-24 LPA and for Mechanical and Chemical it is around 13-16 LPA. These figures would've changed though from the last time I saw. Around 85-90% of the students get placed usually. Top notch companies like Google, Microsoft , DE Shaw, Arcesium Cohesity Rubrick recruit students every year for the tech roles and other prominent companies like Flipkart, Sprinkle, Intuiut and Coin Switch come for managerial roles as well. There is even a chance of getting a PPO through Summer Internship Program which kikstarts in the 3rd year where students compete to get internship in these top companies. Ans. The course curriculum prepares you directly for the outer world. In the first year, we have mechanical workshop, which gives us hands-on-experience on different machines that are used in manufacturing like the Late, Milling, Foundry etc. The first year consists of subjects from each disciplines of the B.E and the Msc Degrees so as to get the basics of students cleared . Further as we go into 2nd and 3rd years the course gets detailed to the discipline the student choses. The exams are times out evenly in the curriculum so the students would get time to prepare for the exams, which are moderate to hard in level.Read more
