Dislikes
- As a student we know the worst thing in our college is the canteen food, I think this is the very thing that any college or school canteen can't change. But, it is never always like that we get good foods while parents visits 😄 or in any functions
- Water management system was also a great reason for not disliking my college, water was not extracted from underground instead we used water from nearby ponds which leads to huge shortage of water during summer and that very same water for drinking 2
- Many companies come for placement but with very low package as they were hiring educated labours. It's wrong to say but there were many students including my best friends those who were genius were given placement of 2lakh
Course Curriculum Overview
* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily
Fees and Financial Aid
* I paid 600000 for my studies, 150000 per year and 140000 in hostel. Including both I paid 740000 * In 60000 or 150000/year every fee including registration admission kab fee examination fee all are included. * My batchmates those who belongs to General caste and where residents of Odisha had few government schemes which decreased the tution fee by 50-60000 and the other backward caste had great benefits as they had to approximately no fees. Odisha government provides so much benifits to youths for making their future bright. And I and my few batchmates where from other states including me so some had student loan provided by their state government, I'm from Bihar, I didn't had any such facility of stuuloan or any type of scholarship. * Every local students of Odisha had best scholarship facility. Effort done by their government in order to educate their youth is very appreciable.
Campus Life
* Annual Day of the college is celebrated every year in April month and many other events such as Sarawati Puja, Holi, Diwali, Viswakarma Puja, Independence Day, Republic Day and Sports Day are also celebrated every year and also fresher parties are organised for new students. * Almost every book of all departments are available in library with seperate sections for different subjects and we can also borrow books for 15 days on our library card. * Smart classrooms are available for required subjects and almost every tools and machines related to my department are available there. Also a workshop is provided for us where we are give information about tools and how to use them. * Feild for cricket basketball and other outdoor games are provided in the college campus and every year sports day is organised in which almost every kind of summer games are played. * No such groups, clubs, or student portals were formed by students because we didn't need to form any, all us were united and we have never faced any situation so that we can form any groups. If any problem arises our faculties supported us with it and tried to manage it without any disturbance.
Hostel Facilities
* A big hall type room is given to students in college that is to be shared with four other students and there was an attached bathroom with everyroom. Our hostel had 5 floors with the lift system available. * What to say about meal quality, we were in hostel and what we could aspect the meal to be but then also meal provided were average not too bad and there were lots of things in the meal menu. And on any event days we used to get best foods. *Hostel is quite affordable we have to pay 36000 per year in hostel and for registering in hostel you have to simply opt for hostel while filling form or during form submission you have to opt for hostel and a room will be allocated to you in hostel.
Admission
* My relative brother passed out from this very college and he suggested me to go to this very college for my studies. If I get admission in IITs or NIITs then I would like to move there but, choosing among private colleges I will opt for this very college rather than going to other private institutions. *No, I haven't applied for any other colleges. I got my 12th marksheet and secured 2nd division with 59% and directly got admission in it without visiting other colleges. * There is no entrance exam for getting admission in this college you just need to appear in OJEE (Odisha Joint Engineering Exam) and after getting it's result you can apply directly in this college.
Faculty
*Faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:30. From my point of view relation between me and my teachers were quite friendly and I always seen them supporting students in everything possible, and they always did their best to maintain such relationship. *Arupanand Mohanty was HoD of my department and he always helped and supported me during my college and still he is always ready to support me. Among the best faculties of my college I would like to keep name of Arupanand Mohanty sir at the top then Tapan Panda Sir, Biswajit Sir, Sumit Sir, are some the best faculties of my college. All faculties are good but as they are from the beginning of the college they know how to deal to students and what to do for them. * Any such faculty name I would not like to mention as every faculties had a good relation with me and they all always supported me. * In total there are 8 semesters in four years, the semester exams are moderate and with good studies it can be cleared easily. The first seven semesters is written and the last semester i.e., in 8th semester we have to submit project associated with our studies and department.
Night Life
Best nighout spot in our college campus was the basketball court and stage area after our dinner we used to hangout there. Well mainted gym are available with good trainers. There are two cafeteria in our college with public sitting arrangements, were we used to hangout with our friends, celebrated friends birthday and all. Inside college campus we can hangout in cafeteria, basketball court, stage area, or simply entire college campus and outside college we used to go on a nearby hill and also a waterfall was there behind our college, these were few places for our hangout and after 7 p.m. we were not allowed to leave college or hostel campus.
