The School of Mechanical Sciences has a dynamic faculty. Most of the faculty are from IIT Kharagpur, and they are well experienced. The school provides an excellent academic and research oriented environment. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that It incorporates the current industrial needs. Mechanical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar is one of the best branches. The institute introduced two Dual degrees programs in Mechanical Engineering along with Btech.
All the classes of Mechanical Engineering students take place at the Argul campus. The school has all the lab facilities and also has workshops for first-year students. The school also organizes interesting seminars and interactive sessions for all the students. From the beginning, the school provides all the tools for their projects. Students are given access to the DIC (Design Innovation Center). DIC is one of the best places where you can work on any project of your choice.
The average package offered to the students of the mechanical department in IIT Bhubaneswar is 8.8 LPA in 2019. The highest package offered was around 16 LPA, with almost 90% placements.
