Hostel Facilities:

In every hostel (except 1st year's girls' hostel), there are single occupancy rooms. Mess Food is average. The hostel room quality is very good and is equipped with a LAN Internet connection. Hostel charges are also reasonable.

Dislikes

Distance from hostels to schools is more. We can take buses but they are often crowded. Girls to boys ratio is 1:5.

Hostel Facilities:

A cupboard table cot and chair are provided in the room. Each room has a balcony and a window. Washrooms are combined not individual. Washing machine rooms are there in every floor. 3 lifts for every block of hostel. RHR first year hostel has two blocks one for btech and other for mtech and phd. BHR for third and fourth year and of two blocks. MHR is of one block and there 2nd year btech students stay. Mess is very good but aferr few days it gets really boring. There are canteens and restuarants of reasonable prices. Hostel rooms are randomly given by chits picking. View from hostels is whole other level expirence.

The Hostel facilities at iit Bhubaneswar are comfortable with rooms equipped with a bed study table chair fan and cupboard some hostels have ac rooms while others are non ac the rooms are spacious though maintenance can vary Perman areas like lounges are available for socializing and relaxation The meal quality in the hostel mess is decent with a varied menu offering Indian Chinese and continental options while the food can be inconsistent efforts are made to provide balanced meals vegetarians

Mess quality is fine not good not that bad it is edible we get room with single occupancy. Hostel is actually very affordable 18000 is the mess fees for 4 months we get food 4 times. You have to be in the hostel if you are in any iit i believe you cannot choose to rent a room off campus plus there arent any good room or pg nearby.

Single occupancy is provided meaning only one person lives in one room. One room has one bed, one chair, one table, one fan, one tubelight, 3 sockets and 1 balcony with a great view. The mess food is good mostly. Hostel is provided along with admission into any course.

The campus is too big meaning we have to travel 6-7 kilometre daily on cycle from the hostel to the academic lecture halls
The mess food here is so bad that every other day an insect is spotted in the food

Most appreciating part is that all years we have single room and no ragging at all and hostel are equipped with gardens and and benches where we can sit and enjoy with friends

Classes are bit far from the hostel and there are sloppy roads which makes sometimes difficult to drive cycle and most importantly the campus does not allow btech students to have motored vehicle.
Mess food is again a big challange because roti are not buttered but there options within mess to pay and eat(which is good in taste).

Hostel Facilities:

First of all, we get a single room where we get a bed and table chair and the bad one does not come with a mattress and pillow we have to purchase we can buy it from the hostel or you can take it from home if you want to and there is one almirah and one balcony for every room. The milk quality is here good but the taste might not be as good as you think because all the students came from different locations all over India so there may be some issues regarding the taste.

Hostel Facilities:

We are given a single room accommodation. The mess food is many times good, but sometimes its unedible and we would rather prefer sleeping empty stomach than eating it. All registration and fee payment occurs in our college erp site. We cant even think of a pg as our campus is too far away from main city and traveling 20-30KM everyday would be not worth it.

Hostel life at IIT Bhubaneswar is comfortable and student-oriented, especially if you’re someone who enjoys privacy and decent facilities. Every student gets a single room—furnished with a bed, table, chair, cupboard, and often a balcony. You’ll find washing machines, geysers, water coolers, Wi-Fi, common rooms, and sports facilities in every hall.

The mess has 4 meals a day, and though the food is good enough (with both South and North Indian dishes), there's a night canteen and cafés within walking distance if you need a change.

There are no rigid hostel timings, so you'll have freedom. The hall council, run by the students, keeps things happening with fests, sports tournaments, and cultural events.

Mahanadi Hall Of Residence (Boys hostel)

The residence is divided into 2 blocks where one is assigned to freshers and the other is assigned to seniors. The top floor is for Ph.D. scholars.
There are LAN ports in every room and internet service is pretty good,
There are 10 lifts inside the building
Like any other IIT, Bhubaneswar has excellent sports facilities including a basketball court, a volleyball court, a gym,2 badminton courts, 4 table tennis tables. You can also find cricket, soccer, hockey fields, lawn tennis court, and separate space for javelin throw and short putt.
The food served in the mess is decent and of average quality like any other mess. Additionally, there is a canteen that serves food till late at night.

IIT Bhubaneswar hostel accommodation for girls is good. All B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc students stay in Subarnarekhs Hall of Residence (SHR). The hostel has well-ventilated single rooms with a small attached balcony. Each hostel room has a cot, table, chair, and cupboard. Every floor has washrooms and restrooms on both sides. Washing machines are available on every alternate floor.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It was established in 2008 by the government of India. The campus is located in the city itself. It has hostel facilities, Mess facilities, gym, sports grounds and courts, Clubs, canteens, cafeteria, multi-purpose store, dispensaries, etc.

IIT Bhubaneswar has hostel facilities for MTech students for boys and girls both in the campus. Students will be able to purchase Mattress, Bed Sheet, Pillow and Pillow Cover, Mosquito Repellent, Bucket, Mug, Notebooks, Bags, etc. The Hostel has a capacity of 800 male students and 200 female students. IIT Bhubaneswar has the 2nd largest campus among all IIT’s (including the old ones). It is spread over 936 acres of land situated at the foot of Barunei Hill and provides a serene and peaceful academic environment.

Hostel Infrastructure: There are in total 3 blocks for boys hostel and 1 block for the girl’s hostel. All the hostels are built with modern facilities including fast speed Wi-Fi connection with one LAN facility in every room. All the rooms are hygienic and cleaned regularly. There is a hot water facility in the washrooms during the morning hours. To avoid the hustle of washing clothes and getting clean drinking water, all the hostel floors are provided with washing and Aquaguard machines. Besides this, there is a TV room in every hostel block in order to let you watch the daily news and cricket-football matches together. Mess Food: The food at the IIT Bhubaneswar mess is far better compared to other engineering hostel messes. Other than the mess, other food options inside the campus are (a) Canteen near 1st Year Lab Complex which sells samosas, Vadas, and Maggi, besides lunch options (b) Bakery in Shopping Complex which sells rolls, puffs, nano-pizzas, etc. (c) Canteen near L-Gate at the campus which sells Maggi, paranthas and fast food items.

Professors: Being an IIT, the quality of education here is pretty high and the faculty are well skilled to teach the latest developments in every department with regular updates in the curriculum. Some professors are exceptional with very good industry and academic experience and some are just at par but with educational degrees from best colleges in the country and abroad. Most importantly, all the faculties are very helpful in nature and are there whenever you require them, no matter what time it is.

The hostel facilities at IIT Bhubaneswar are quite good. Yes, IIT Bhubaneswar provides hostel for the M.Tech students. For the 1st year students of M.Tech, the hostel used to be 20 km far from the main campus it was quite difficult for the students. But from 2019, July the M.Tech students are given hostel accommodation in the permanent Argul Campus. Students are placed in Brahmaputra Hall of Residence(Boys), and Ganga Hall of Residence(Girls)

You can buy basic amenities like Mattress, Bed Sheet, Pillow, Pillow Cover, Soap, Bucket, Mug, Broomstick, Cycles, Notebooks, Bags, etc in hostel premises. Now coming to the hostel part the hostel is 2 seater and spacious and the hostels are equipped for all necessary requirements.
