IIT Bhubaneswar hostel accommodation for girls is good. All B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc students stay in Subarnarekhs Hall of Residence (SHR). The hostel has well-ventilated single rooms with a small attached balcony. Each hostel room has a cot, table, chair, and cupboard. Every floor has washrooms and restrooms on both sides. Washing machines are available on every alternate floor.

Hostel Infrastructure: There are in total 3 blocks for boys hostel and 1 block for the girl’s hostel. All the hostels are built with modern facilities including fast speed Wi-Fi connection with one LAN facility in every room. All the rooms are hygienic and cleaned regularly. To avoid the hustle of washing clothes and getting clean drinking water, all the hostel floors are provided with washing and Aquaguard machines. For the 1st year students of M.Tech, the hostel used to be 20 km far from the main campus it was quite difficult for the students. But from 2019, July the M.Tech students are given hostel accommodation in the permanent Argul Campus. Students are placed in Brahmaputra Hall of Residence(Boys), and Ganga Hall of Residence(Girls)
