placements are average...not feels like an iit but its ok ...this yaer percentage of placement was 90% and highest ctc was of 67.4 LPA with median of 12LPA and average of 17 LPA ...most of the placements for SDE roles. My plan is to finish my degree as soon as possible and get placed for a SDE role so that i can survive

The placement stats of IIT Bhubaneswar are quite good. For the 2025 placement season, the highest CTC was 67.6 LPA and the mean CTC was 14.5 LPA, with a total of 22 PPO offers. Approximately 90% students were placed this year. Major recruiters were Google, Oracle, Zomato, Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA and Meesho. Good placement opportunity are here jn this campus. Average package is about 60 to 70 lpa. About 50%students get placed in these placements. Conoanirs like amazon, Microsoft, google cone for placements here. After getting this degree, i am thinking of becoming a UPSC aspirant.

Placements are pretty good in our college for the top tier branches with a placement percantage of 80%. Low tier branches have a cut off of minimum 7.5 CGPA for sitting in the campus interviews. Students get eligibility in 4th year.

Generally placements here start from the end of third year. That will go on till the fourth year.Amazon, google often visit for placements. Other companies like wipro, Federal also visit. Highest package of 2024 was 52 LPA. Overall highest package was about 60 LPA. In CSE around 96%studentes got placed and overall 89% students applied for placements have placed.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from 6th Semester onwards. We get internships oppurtunities in 2nd Year. The companies that visit are De Shaw, Mahindra and Mahindra, ISRO,BPCL, Amazon, IBM, TCS. There are a fair amount of offers made. The highest package in last placement season is 64 Lakhs and Average Package is aroun 17.8 Lakhs. Placement Rate is 85%. I would prefer to get into research or Higher Studies if I am well-versed with the subject, else I might settle for a 9 to 5 job.

there are lot of good job oppurtunities at IITBBS. students can start looking for work on campus in their 7th semester which is the final year and 9th semester for dual degree students. the CDC cell works hard to put students in toch with top employers in a wide range of fields. every year big companies like google, tata steel, L&T and many more come to recruit.in past few years highest salary has been more than 1 crore and avg package would be 18lpa and placement percentage would be around 85.

The condition of placement in IIT Bhubaneswar has been quite impressive in recent years.

Placement Statistics:

The electronics engineering department recorded 99% of students being placed.
The same placement record was also observed in the electrical engineering department. The mechanical engineering department also observed a good placement record.
Though, the situation isn't the same for the civil engineering department. Only two companies visited the campus for placement.

The placement statistics for 2020-21 is as follows.

Career Development Cell:

The main reason behind the failure of placement of the civil department lies in the CDC office of the IIT Bhubaneswar. The staff is hired on a contract basis and doesn't look into the crisis of placement at the department, unless there is some external pressure acting upon them.

One of my friends is pursuing a master’s in Water Resources Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar and is also a placement coordinator for his department. When he visited the CDC in charge, to his surprise he was asked what are the companies that hire from Water Resources Engineering. This clearly implies that the in charge faculty was not aware of the department let alone recruiting companies.

Overall IIT Bhubaneswar holds a good placement record.

The placement record for the CSE branch at IIT Bhubaneswar is quite good. The CSE department had the highest placement record of 100% for the past 3 years. CSE is considered the most demandable among all the other engineering departments. IT, Analytics, and E-Commerce offer the most number of job opportunities to CSE students at the institute. More than 89 companies visited during the placement drive of 2019. The highest salary package offered was 39 lakhs per annum, whereas the average salary package offered was 11 lakhs per annum.

Students of the CSE department have received the maximum placement offers. The top companies participating in the placement program are Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, Oracle, Mathworks, HCL, Deloitte, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Amazon, Flipkart, Oyo, Grofers, Nykaa, etc.

In the session 2018-19, around 90% of UG students got placed with the highest CTC offered being 39 LPA and the average CTC was 11.44 LPA. For PG students, the placement rate was 69%. CSE branch received 100% placement, 90% for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, 89% for Civil, 86% for Electrical, and 83% for Mechanical. The maximum offers were received by the CSE students.

The major recruiters in the session were Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, L&T, Deloitte, Directi, Reliance Industries, IBM, Tesco, Samsung, Apple Inc, while the top PSUs being ISRO, DRDO, IOCL, HPCL, ONGC. A total number of 89 companies took part in placement drives in the college. The number of companies visiting the college and the placement rate has been continuously increasing in the past 3 years.

Now compare the placement statistics of IIT Bhubaneswar with other prominent IITs in the country, IIT Bombay provided an average salary of 20 LPA, IIT Madras recorded 100% placement providing an average CTC of 16 LPA, IIT Kharagpur providing 15 LPA average salary, IIT Kanpur providing an average salary of 7.5 LPA, IIT Delhi offered an average package of 16 LPA, and IIT Indore offered around 19 LPA as the average annual salary.

IIT Bhubaneswar had a surge in placements over the last few years. During the 2019 campus placement, a total of 89 companies visited the campus and almost 90% placement rate was observed. The companies that came for recruitment included Amazon, Google, Dell, Capgemini, Wipro, etc.

The CSE department got the highest placement with a 100% placement rate and the average salary package received by the students of CSE was around 10-35 LPA. Other core branches also received an average placement package of around 10-16 LPA. The highest annual package offered in IIT Bhubaneswar was 39 LPA during the ongoing recruitment of 2020 placements.

It also offers internships to the students which last from May to July every year. For the summer internship program, the students visited organizations such as Amazon, Microsoft, DRDO, Jindal Stainless Steel, etc.
