It's relatively new hence the alumni network is still developing (not a bad thing) but for the time being there is a limited network

Ragging here is completely banned and no senior even dares to do so, but in my opinion some amount of ragging should be allowed as it enhances your bond with the seniors.

Shiv Nadar University, also known as SNU Noida is a private university established under Shiv Nadar Foundation. According to NIRF 2023, SNU is ranked 62 among universities and ranked 95 overall in India. Founded in 2011, the university is well-known for its B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and M.Sc programs. Currently, the university offers 20+ UG, PG, Doctorate and Diploma courses under Management, Science, Arts and Research streams. Admissions to SNU Noida Courses are provided solely based on national-level entrance exams, such as JEE Main, GATE, CAT, MAT, XAT and UGC NET for admission to the UG/ PG and PhD courses. High potential academic achievers are acknowledged by the university by receiving generous scholarships that cover part/ full expenses for the entire duration of the program. The opportunity of ‘Research and Teaching Assistantship’ allows students at the graduate level, to get the opportunity to delve deeper into their disciplines and teach the undergraduates. SNU Noida Facilities

Hostels: The residential student hostels are state-of-the-art as well as gender-segregated. All rooms have basic in-built utilities and are designed as a comfortable independent unit. Each hostel is fitted with water coolers fitted with RO and purifiers, a pantry on the ground floor, microwave ovens, and other facilities. All rooms and washrooms are well-fitted. The lady’s washroom is designed well and feminine hygiene has been kept in mind. All the common areas of the hostels are Wi-Fi enabled. Both AC and Non-AC accommodation are provided for the students. The AC accommodation is provided on a first-come-first-served basis.
Library: The university has a centrally air-conditioned plush library that offers an extensive collection of books, scientific and technical journals, as well as electronic reference materials that satisfies the academic and research needs of students and the faculty community. The library also offers online facilities like Library Catalogue, Journals/ e-books, Repository, Resource Sharing, Thesis, and dissertations as well as E- Newspapers.
Transport: Transport services are provided for students and all members of the staff to facilitate travel to the city and any neighboring places during weekends. The services are provided to the students on a first-come, first-served basis.The student transport committee plans and manages this service, whereas the time for the bus service is decided based on demand and seasonal conditions.
Cafe: The central library building consists of a cafe that serves as a common area for the faculty members and students to interact over hot sumptuous food outside the classroom. The cafe also offers a variety of food, snacks, and beverages for a quick bite in-between meals.
Dining: The university offers several types of cuisines from all 27 states. There are two large Dining Halls (DH 1 & 2) that helps cater to the cultural and food preferences of students. The highest standards of hygiene consciousness are kept in mind. The dining areas are also well–furnished and fully equipped. Apart from the two main Dining Halls, there are also standards of hygiene consciousness and a food court in the main academic block; a cafe in the central library building and a variety of snacks are sold by the kiosks at the hostel block. The student-elected mess committee and the University administration closely monitors the quality of food served on campus.
Safety and Security: The safety and the security of its students and faculty members are taken very seriously by the university. The entire campus is constantly being monitored by a multi-tiered, 24X7 security system. The Campus Security Team is also on duty for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as well as 365 days in a year which also includes holidays and academic breaks. The security personnel patrols the campus round-the-clock. High definition CCTV cameras monitor the academic areas, hostel blocks, and residential areas on the campus. Access to the campus is also strictly controlled.

Ques. What is the attendance policy of SNU Noida?

Ans. All students are required to attend the classes in every registered course. A shortfall of not more than 15% is allowed in each course. The student may be condoned for attendance shortfall beyond the regular amount of 15%. This is however not beyond a total shortfall of 25% which may be due to medical or duty leave.

Ans. On-campus jobs are provided to students to help earn additional income. This helps them to imbibe a sense of accountability and responsibility. Admission:

I considered this college college since the facilities and faculty her seem great. Colleges like vit and srm have admitted too many students and as a result the college has become over crowded but the student intake in shiv nadar is limited which is great l. I had not recieved a rejection letter from other colleges.

Snu. Give them a chance

Likes

The food is decent. The menu is vast and the mess opens 5 times in a day
The campus is really big and not to forget, beautiful

Dislikes

Security is too strict. It forces a restriction
The campus being big is also a downside as commuting from senior hostels to academic blocks where classes are held are very long and tiring, specially in the summer

The admission Process of my college was pretty simple. Mind you, the process was simple but getting chosen was not. I consider shiv Nadar to be a top tier university as I have experienced it. They are strict with the education system in place and should be proud of it.

SNU - A heaven for researchers

Likes

Infrastructure is top notch and consists of almost everything one may require.
Faculties are helpful and informative with top graduates.

Dislikes

Freshers have curfew after 12 PM for the entire year.
Hostels and academic blocks are placed quite far apart.

Admission:

Some of the other colleges I had applied to we're SRM Chennai, VIT and a few others but Shiv Nadar caught my eye especially due to the fact that it provides a great exposure and has an amazing crowd. One of the main ways to gain admission here is through SNUSAT but sometimes an interview round is also held.

Life at SNU

Likes

Girls to boys ratio is quite good:- 2/3 the ratio is nearly 50-50 in non engineering branches
To make networks and socilaizing with new people this college is really a good place

Dislikes

Faculty is not that which i have expected...you still have to google for studies
There is nepotism in entering any of the clubs here, specially entering into tech clubs is too difficult

Admission:

I applied to several colleges, including shiv nadar university, vit, SRM and DTU. I received admissions from VIT, and SRM but chose SNU for its research focus. DTU was my initial preference, but i couldn't secure admission due to its highly competitive environment. The SNIoE admission process was smooth, with eligibility requiring a minimum of 60% in 12th grade and admission offereed through SNUSAT OR JEE MAINS. The jee mains cutoff for this year was 90-93 percentile, while SNUsat focused on aptitude, problem solving, and english proficiency, followed by a personal interview.

Shiv nadar is a good college to get into

Likes

The infrastructure is like the best here with greenery all around.
There is a really huge library where you can find books of different kinds

Dislikes

The hostel facilities are pretty average
At times it’s just way too much pressure because of excess of quizes and assignments

I applied for symbiosis, noida as well as christ, ghaziabad. I had got an offer for afmission in both of them. I chose this college because it has better teaching methods and an upper hand in placements as well. You need to score more than 60% in CBSE board exams and pass the university's private paper to get into the college

The huge campus and the events that the college hosts.
We have electric buses on campus to take you from your hostel to your classes as the campus is huge and walking consumes more time.

Dislikes

The food served in the dining hall which has to be paid for at the beginning of the semester is very bad in taste.
If I'm late for a class and I catch a bus, I'll have to walk a lot to reach the academic blocks

Admission:

I chose this college only because of its infrastructure, faculty and as it was close to my home in gurgaon compared to the other colleges I applied to. One other university was near my home christ ghaziabad but they didn't really have a campus and the infrastructure was also pretty old, I think Iade a good choice by coming here. The entrance exam was also not very tough and for my course particularly we didn't have a personal interview as well.

big campus of 350 acre ,ample to explore and roam around
not so many people are taken in on yearly basis

nothing outside campus ,village and everything is far away
proffs are only from IIT but dont know how to teach

this college was near to my house and siblings live nearby this college , admission in take is low as compared to another colleges .for engineer batch online or offline test or more than 95% in jee advanced

My experience at Shiv Nadar University

Admission:

I got admitted in MUJ, VIT, KIIT and SRM as well. However i decided to choose this college because of the freedom and lifestyle the i could get. As it is a residential campus it is compulsory to stay on campus, at the same time it is easy for me to travel back home during the weekend for major festivals. The campus is also just 1 hour away from the airport for those who are from a different state. I got into every college i applied to but SNU somehow had my heart. Due to it's curriculum flexibility and proximity to my home. You can get admission through your SAT, JEE aur SNUSAT score. The SNUSAT is an admission test carried out by shiv nadar university itself. It is a basic calculative and adaptive knowledge test. For a few courses a one on one interview is also held after you clear the SNUSAT.

SNU : An Expensive but Quality College

Likes

The male to female ratio is almost equal with females dominating in some courses.
Really amazing infrastructure. State of the art labs and sports facilities. Really amazing classrooms.

Dislikes

Scholarships have been heavily reduced in the past few years.
Hostel curfew for first year students after 12AM

Admission:

I was applying abroad but due to some financial circumstances I could not pursue that. I got acceptances from NYU, Dartmouth, Purdue, Bowdoin. I chose SNU because it is a uni like abroad but in India and ofcourse at a lower price. I had applied to SNU via collegeboard SAT. Exams accepted by my course are JEE,SAT,SNUSAT. Most students prefer SNUSAT. Its cutoff is not public knowledge. JEE cutoff for my course is around 93 percentile. SAT cutoff is around 1350 while I scored 1520.

Shiv Nadar University is currently accepting applications for undegraduate admissions including B.Tech programs. You can submit your application through the university’s online application portal. You can apply for B.Tech program if you have passed Class XII examination with PCM subjects from a recognized board. The minimum score requirement differs and you can check it from Shiv Nadar University Admissions.

Shiv Nadar University also offers admission to its B.Tech programs based on the merit of JEE Mains. The JEE Mains score requirement differ for each B.Tech program. However, if you have a percentile score of 87 you will be able to secure admission in this university.
