The course curriculum prepares you directly for the outer world. In the first year, we have mechanical workshop, which gives us hands-on-experience on different machines that are used in manufacturing like the Late, Milling, Foundry etc. The first year consists of subjects from each disciplines of the B.E and the Msc Degrees so as to get the basics of students cleared . Further as we go into 2nd and 3rd years the course gets detailed to the discipline the student choses. The exams are times out evenly in the curriculum so the students would get time to prepare for the exams, which are moderate to hard in level.

Course curriculum in general is a bit hectic and competetive because of the relative grading system here in goa campus, when comapred to the other sister colleges. But this does not create barrier for the students who prepare from early and excel in every exam they sit for, hence as a senior i also advise to all the incoming stuednts to always maintain and work life balance if they want to get good grades. Talking about my own mechanical course structure, to be honest, it is one of the easiest among all the single degree cousrses whether in terms grading or the course strucure, all thanks to the helpful and supportive faculty members that balance out the marking scheme well and never let the burden come on us. Same might not be true for other branch students here. Meaking scheme might be different but the duration of exams appear the same for all and the difficulty level almost range the same no matter you are a single degree or dual degree student. The only thing that creates difference, in the first year, the dual degree students are required to work harder in compare to single degree students as their bachelors degree is dependant on the CGPA they get after the end of first year.

the curriculum followed in bits is inspired from MIT, Boston, as an MoU was signed while bits was being institated hence the books followed and the curriculum is mostly foreign authors and books and well updated For Mechanical engineering it doesnt prepare you well to work in the mechanical field and you'll have to do a masters for securing a well paid and higher role job but thats the case for all colleges as there is no attendance policy, if recorded lectures could be provided it would be helpful Frequency of quizzes is very hectic all subjects keep it in a row in a week, but midsems are also hectic like 8 exams in 6 days but compres are well spaced

The courses in bits are apt and precise. They follow what most of the indian colleges do. Although the courses are medium in difficulty the grading here in Goa is hard as compared to Hyderabad and pilani campuses.

The course was my sencond option after cse because of interest in automobile. after the first year because of common courses the faculty to student ratio improves by a lot. the faculty is extremely qualified and are really good, some are strict as is expected but all in all they genuienly try to help students out. Exams were divided into mid tems after two months and comprehensives which happen at the end of the semester. Theres no pass/fail criterion but relative grading and its hard to get good grades because of extreme competetion
