IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

Fees and Financial Aid:

In each year there are 2 semester. Odd semester has fee 153k and even semester has fee 138 k . Obc /ews/general candidate having family income less than 1 lakh gets fee waiver of 1 lakh each semester. Obc/ews/general candidate having family income less than 5 lakh and above than 1 lakh get fee waiver of 66k per semester. Sc/st students get 1 lakh fee waiver each semester irrespective of their income. This fee waiver scholarship is available in our college. Other than this you can take government scholarship through government portals. The fee mentioned above includes hostel and mess fee also . 143k and 138k breakdown 1 lakh tution fee each semester and rest amount for mess and hostel fee has mess and hostel fee in it.

The IIT Roorkee Guide

So there are 8 semesters in my course and each semester as a general candidate I have to pay 1,38,000 rupess which includes a tuition fees of 1,00,000 and the hostel fees of 30,000 rupees annually. There are other fees also like maintenence fees, library fees and gymkhana fees which have a total amount of about 6,000-8,000. For SC/ST candidates, they dont have to pay any tuition fees or other fees, they only pays the hostel and mess fees which comes to around 38,000. The EWS candidates have to pay the full amount at the start but they usually gets the amount back based on ther earning limit. For example, families with less than 5lakhs earning gets 2/3amount of tuition fees back and families with annual income less than 1lakh gets the full tuition fees back as scholarship.

The course offers hands-on knowledge in Data/ Data Engineering technologies. It is suitable for anyone with basic programming knowledge, SQL database work, and an inclination toward Data Science. There is many differences in the price as well as the curriculum of the courses offered by E&ICT Academy, IIT Roorkee, and CloudxLab.

Merits

Well-structured coursework taught through short videos and quizzes for evaluation
The discussion forum provides assistance in lab work and projects
The solution of the project is available for assistance
The videos can be saved for future reference

The B.Tech curriculum focuses equally on theoretical and practical learning. This will prepare you for industry roles.

On the other hand, the dual degree curriculum gives more importance to research and specialisation in electrical engineering.

At IT Roorkee, students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs per annum are eligible for fee waivers and concessions. A few points related to the fees submission procedure for students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs are:

Irrespective of your family income, everyone has to pay the fees for the first semester. This includes Tuition Fees, Hostel Rent, and Other charges.
From the next semester, complete fees are waived for SC, ST & PD students. However, students still have to pay other charges and Hostel Rent.
Any excess amount paid by the students at the time to seat allotment shall be refunded.
Complete fee payment including Institute fee and Mess fee to be made if payment is done online.

Does IIT Roorkee provide M.Sc. in Data Science for a B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics graduate ?

IIT Roorkee does not offer M.Sc in Data Science. The university offers only M.Tech in Data Science at the postgraduate level. You must have a B.Tech degree from a recognized university to be eligible for admission.
