Fees and Financial Aid:

Overall fees including tuition fees(200000) + mess + hostel= 300000 per year Mess and Hostel are compulsory SC/ST Students are exempted from paying tuition fees. Total annual fees for general category= 300000 Total annual fees for SC/ST students=100000 James thomson scholarship is there for students have a JEE rank under 300. People from financially weak backgrounds are aided with scholarships and they follow same fees structure as SC/ST students. Many monetary benefits are there for academic and research excellence.

The IIT Roorkee Guide

So there are 8 semesters in my course and each semester as a general candidate I have to pay 1,38,000 rupess which includes a tuition fees of 1,00,000 and the hostel fees of 30,000 rupees annually. There are other fees also like maintenence fees, library fees and gymkhana fees which have a total amount of about 6,000-8,000. For SC/ST candidates, they dont have to pay any tuition fees or other fees, they only pays the hostel and mess fees which comes to around 38,000. The EWS candidates have to pay the full amount at the start but they usually gets the amount back based on ther earning limit. For example, families with less than 5lakhs earning gets 2/3amount of tuition fees back and families with annual income less than 1lakh gets the full tuition fees back as scholarship.

i have no institute fees due to sc reservation but have to pay other fees accomodation 5000 semester charges 3250 maintanence fees 7000 hostel and mess fees 25250 electricity charges 2500 it's all per semester my other batchmates just have to pay institue or tution fees of 1lakh.

INSIDE THE IIT ROORKEE

The 4 Year Btech Course Cost Around Somewhere 10 To 12 Lakhs At Iit Roorkee Wich Is Pretty Good If We Compare To Private Colleges. Financial Assistance Is Availabe To The Students Belonging To Ews And Sc/St Category. For Students Of Sc/St Category The Tution Fees Is Zero. For General And Obs Students It Cost Around 2 To 2.5 Lakh Every Year. There Is No Campus Employment Here At Iit Roorkee

IIT-R : a worth or not

Here there is a fee wavier for whose family income is less than 5lpa 2/3rd of the fee iss less for these students Also there is a provision for loan in sbi inside tha campus or you can take the educational loan from any other bank

My personal experince on IIT Roorkee

Firstly the tuition fee of sc/st students is completely waive off. and for other categories the fee is on the basis of there parental income i.e if there parent(both mother and father) annual income is less than 1 lakh then there tuition fee is completely wavie off and if there parental income is lie between 1 to 5 lakh the n there 60 percent fee is wave off.

My personal Experience at IITR

Academic system of IITR is not going advanced with the time like even today they teach us Engineering drawing like we have advanced machine so no need to do this.

the total fees without any scholarship in our college is about 1.5 lakh per semester but iff you family income is less than 5 lakh then you will have to pay 66% of the tution fees and if your family income is less than 3 lakh per year then you will only have to pay 33% of the tution fee and if your family income is even less than 1 lakh then your tution fees will be waived and the process is so simple and even with 1.5 lakh the facilities you are provided are enough .

Iit roorkee is the best

Classes schedule and the way they took tutorials

The tuition free was 80000 for a year. There are lot many scholarship program's are there such as mcm , and scholarship for higher studies. Currently I am working for two clubs : knox and asme(American society of mechanical engineering) ,working under mechanical vertical.
