Both IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP have top-notch security on campus, and they are extremely safe for female students. So, you can rest all your worries. Infact, the security standards are pretty good considering the fact that these are government institutions. 

Here are the security features of IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur-

• There is a police station inside campus.
• 24/7 security guards are on standby.
• Some labs have biometric door locking systems, enabling you to work late at night.
• Even late at night, you can see people roaming freely.

The girl’s hostel in IIT Kharagpur is situated at the best possible location in terms of both, the safety of the students and the availability of resources like the library, eateries, and even some departmental buildings. 

Overall, the security is really good in both of these IITs for girl students. However, their campuses have many dogs and other animals, which might scare some people. These stray animals are usually harmless until you provoke them. 

It is better to choose a college with an IIT tag because it will give you security regarding placements. IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee both have a good placement record, and their IIT tag makes them a better choice for Architecture students.

• The NIRF 2023 Ranking in Architecture of IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur is 1st and 3rd respectively, whereas the ranking of SPA Delhi is 5th. 
• IITs offer a lot of facilities which aren’t offered by other top architecture colleges in India. They have extensive libraries, best sports facilities, clubs and societies, etc. If you like extracurriculars as much as studies, IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP will provide you with world-class facilities for the same. 
• Apart from design and architecture, you’ll be able to study a host of other subjects and varied electives at IIT R and IIT KGP. This will place you in a much better position academically. 
• Many new professors have joined the Architecture department at IIT Roorkee in the past few years. They are young and have a modern perspective which resonates with today’s youth.
• IIT Roorkee has the best and the biggest hostels compared to any other college, and everyone can avail a single room for the entire course duration. Every hostel room at IIT Roorkee has access to the fastest internet speed through LAN, without any limitations.

After considering all the factors, I would suggest you choose IIT Roorkee for your B.Arch. The next best option would be IIT Kharagpur. 

IIT Roorkee is a better option for an MBA. It is not just the IIM tag that one should consider while choosing a business school. There are various factors like the establishment year of an institute, course fee, location, placement scenario, faculty, infrastructure, alumni network, etc. that must be considered during the selection. 

IIT Roorkee is a well-established institution with a long history of excellence. Its Department of Management Studies (DoMS) has been functioning since 1998. On the other hand, IIM Amritsar is one of the newer IIMs in India, having been established in 2015. 

Here are the MBA placement statistics of both DoMS (IIT Roorkee) and IIM Amritsar for 2023:

IIT Roorkee offers good placements, but more than that, it provides a rich academic environment to its students. The students of DoMS don’t just interact with each other, but also with the students of other departments like engineering. This enhances their understanding of things, and helps in the exchange of diverse perspectives. 

IIT Roorkee is much older to IIM Amritsar, which is why it offers a rich alumni network and a strong brand name. 

Because of these reasons, I would recommend you choose IIT Roorkee over IIM Amritsar for an MBA. 

My order of preference will be IIT Roorkee> IIM Sirmaur> XIMB Bhubaneswar> SIOM Nashik. When considering which institution to choose for an MBA, several factors should be taken into account. 

Here are some points to consider regarding IIM Sirmaur, IIT Roorkee, SIOM Nashik and XIMB Bhubaneswar: 

Even though IIMs have a strong reputation in India for their management courses, IIM Sirmaur is quite new. It will take time to establish its brand name. SIOM is an older management institute but it is private, as opposed to IIM Sirmaur and IIT Roorkee. XIMB is a good institute, but its fees are high as compared to others. 

I would recommend you choose IIT Roorkee for an MBA because of its affordable fees, top class infrastructure, and a well established brand name.

I am a student of MSc. Economics at IIT Roorkee. Here are some advantages of joining this institution for an MSc. in Economics:

• The classrooms and library are well-equipped at IIT Roorkee.
• The teaching quality is excellent.
• All the professors are very helpful and highly qualified.
• The department of Economics at IIT Roorkee conducts various programs to make its students industry ready. The students are guided on important topics such as how to crack an interview.
• The department students receive internship offers from prestigious organisations like RBI and Ministry of Finance, and the private sector.
• The hostel facilities at IIT Roorkee are excellent.
• The median salary offered to MSc. Economics graduates during placements is around INR 12 LPA.

Based on all these factors, I would say that the MSc. Economics program at IIT Roorkee is worth opting for. 

According to me, B.Tech (Electrical engineering) from IIT Roorkee is a better option due to the following reasons:

• B.Tech electrical engineering is a 4 year program while dual degree (electrical engineering) is a five year program. This means that choosing IIT Roorkee will help you enter the workforce earlier.

• The B.Tech curriculum focuses equally on theoretical and practical learning. This will prepare you for industry roles. 

On the other hand, the dual degree curriculum gives more importance to research and specialisation in electrical engineering.

• Here are the 2023 placement figures for IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP:

Unfortunately, the branch-wise placements are not available for either of these IITs. 

I would recommend you choose B.Tech Electrical at IIT Roorkee over Dual Degree in Electrical at IIT KGP due to the above reasons. 

I am a B.Tech Civil student at IIT Roorkee. Here’s a comparison between the two options-

One important thing that my friends told me is that the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT BHU is one of the strictest departments in India. It makes the students question their own potential. The department professors are very strict and the coursework is extremely rigorous. The students are given assignments and projects which they have to complete within a day.

I would suggest you choose IIT Roorkee Civil as it offers the same facilities and placements as IIT BHU Mechanical. Moreover, the Civil department at IITR is not as strict as the Mechanical department at IIT BHU.
