They have introduced the stream subjects in the first year itself in the new curriculum which is generally added in the second year It is more focused on real world applications rather than rote learning without much relevance The area I would like to improve is to give freedom for students to choose the subjects from other streams as well The frequency of exams are 2 times in a semester And their difficulty is generally moderate

I think the course curriculum is little outdated compared to industry norms. The Electronics curriculum can be improved by adding courses on communication, AI, computer vision, etc Practical learning should be implemented to make the course more interesting Teaching methodology should be changed from slide based learning to practical learning Every 2 month you'll have your semester exams and those are pretty much easy. You can easy score 8+ CGPA by one week study before exams

The decision which majorly influenced me to take admission in DTU was it's presence in the National capital of India along with it the placement of it was very good. There are two exams in a semester 1 midsem and 1 endsem but exam ki itni bt ni hai ek raat me padhke ho jata hai

I chose this course curriculum as electronics has a lot of scope in future as we can have chip factories in India. Faculty is qualified but not good. Exams are not tough we can pass them by studying pyq and by YouTube

I chose this course after looking into the course structure which was availaible in the dtu website and frankly it was the best option available to me, I didnt think too much about it I just saw the courses found em interesting & opted for it. The faculty sudent ratio is decent its 1 faculty for every 60 students in a class which is not that bad. The faculty is highly qualified, some of them are actively involved in research and are well known in the industry. The exams are held almost around every 3 months mid sem & end sem exam & its not that difficult to pass if you are regular in studies otherwise it can be difficult

My course is electronics and communication engineering, so course curriculum is subjects including basic electricity engineering, engineering mathematics, applied chemistry, Electronics engineering, applied physics, and an elective courses which we have to register for every semester, talking about students ratio sadly we have a ratio of 15:1 in our department. Qualification of the faculty is top notch they are highly qualified professionals in their subjects and there are some faculty who are phd scholars. Term was really hectic assignment, practicals, mid term, end term. Usually we have mid terms starts in SEPTEMBER end and End sem which starts in November for odd semester.

I have interest in electronics and circuits. Student ratio is very poor 10:1 . We get a really well qualified faculty . In a year there are 4 exams 2 mid term 2 end term. Through which our grades are valculated

The course of DTU - ECE branch is quite good, it focuses on overall developement of the student and tries to give the exoerience of how it is actually in the industries. Faculty are generally very polite and Helpful , but you need to be attentive in class and give attendence to have a good impression else it can affect your overall scores. I chose this course as it had scopes for both Core Placements and Technical Placements , which makes it versatile , but also it needs much more hardwork as you need to prepare for both. For the entire ECE branch its divided into 4-5 Sections each having 62 -65 students and 1 faculty member for each subject. The teachers are highly qualified , from IITs , NITs and other pretigious intitutes with a lot of teaching experience, But you totally cant rely on just the faculty you need to reach out to them yourselves. Term Exams were like in 1.5 months , and mid terms were compared to a bit difficult than end terms but practicing pyqs will help alot.

i have choose this course because i like to study about core electronics student faculty ratio is good 1:15. faculties are good and all have phd either from iit or foriegn. only some teachers are serious to teach their student there are two exam in a semster one is mid semster and one is end semster. exams are not that tough you can score easily if you study 7 days before mid semster and 14 days before end semster.

The ECE branch at DTU is very competent. It has a pool of talented, intelligent, and hardworking students. The reason being that the cutoffs for ECE usually are high. DTU ECE students get placed every year in MNCs like Qualcomm, SanDisk, TI, Samsung, and other such reputed firms that hire electronics engineers. A good percentage of the students also pursue an MS from renowned universities across the globe. Students also prepare for competitive exams like CAT, GATE, UPSE CSE, and even succeed in them.
The faculty here is very knowledgeable and teaches lucidly. They are also very lenient in their evaluation.
The curriculum is entirely focused on hardware, communication, computer architecture, advanced integrated circuits, signals and systems, superior probability, networking, and control systems. This is just a broad classification, the actual curriculum is vast, and students can find a lot of interesting sub-fields in electronics. The only drawback of the curriculum is that it does not offer any CSE electives. Assignments are scarce and can be efficiently dealt with as the solutions are readily available from various sources.
The workload is at the bare minimum level. The exams require just a couple of weeks of diligent studying. For the rest of the semester, one is free to explore his/her skills, hobbies, and interests.
75% and above GPA is straightforward to achieve and maintain. Pushing a bit more during the exam period can fetch even 80% and above. This all makes the college life here very exciting and rewarding. To sum up, ECE at DTU is a good option that can be exercised if one compares among the top NITs.
MNNIT Allahabad is better for ECE. The department has a great faculty and the professors are helpful. The ECE department has many clubs and societies such as Robotics Club and Electronics Society. These clubs have various ongoing research projects. The faculties also take part actively in these projects.
Although the core job opportunities are not too encouraging, few companies do take part in the placements drive. In the past students got internship opportunities in companies such as Qualcomm, Samsung, Airtel, etc. Many IT companies also recruit ECE students. According to the recent highlights of MNNIT Allahabad placements, the highest CTC offered to ECE students is around INR 51 LPA.
Both of the colleges have their own specialties. It depends on your purpose for doing any of the mentioned courses. One of my friends graduated from DTU and he mentioned a few points about the same which may be helpful for you-
Categories | Engineering Physics at DTU | ECE at IIIT Una |
Course Fee | 7.81 lakh | 8.16 lakh |
Highest CTC | 15-16 LPA | 16 LPA |
Average CTC | 8-9 LPA | 8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Optum, Tech Mahindra, TCS, IBM, etc. | Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Capgemini, etc. |
Hence, it is up to you what is your purpose behind taking a course, if it’s research, go for engineering physics and if it’s about taking a decent job in the field of Electronics, then go for IIIT Una.
