DTU Scholarships: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 1823 Reviews

Delhi Technological University (DTU) offers a variety of financial assistance options and scholarships to its students. The annual tuition for undergraduate programs starts at approximately Rs. 2,29,000 and increases by about 10% each year, with the total cost for a 4-year B.Tech program reaching around Rs. 10,36,700. DTU provides scholarships based on financial need, merit, and specific categories such as SC/ST/OBC. Students with family incomes below Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum can apply for fee concessions ranging from 25% to 100% on tuition fees.

Additional scholarships are available through government schemes like the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, and private scholarships from organizations like Dell. Education loans are accessible, with a State Bank of India branch located on campus to support this. Scholarships are also available for high academic performers, with awards for department toppers.

Fees and Financial Aid:

In DTU for all branches the fees structure is same . I took admission in 2024 and my fee structure is as follows 1st yr - 236700 2nd yr- 246700 3rd yr - 266700 4th yr - 286700 The fees is same for all category students. But later on DTU itself does a fee concession interviews with students and deserving low economical status students receive fees refund from the college. Many scholarship are also available for students (some govt. scholarships are easy to get for category students). Rest assured if you are honestly a deserving student , then you'll get the scholarship easily, so focus on getting in DTU not on fees Some prominent scholarships in DTU -NSP - e-district delhi govt. scholarship -DTU fee concession rounds -Dell scholarship

Fees and Financial Aid:

I am paying 8L because I am an OCI student but the fees for Indian and CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries) is 2 - 3 lakhs which is much more affordable. Back paper fee in DTU is 7500 which is very high compared to other colleges. There are many scholarships available but they are mostly governement schemes and not the college's own scholarships.

Fees and Financial Aid:

In my exprience , the fee structure of DTU is relatively reasonable compared to many private tier 1 colleges though its still a significant expense . For my batch the tuition fee was 1.48 Lakhs and when all charges were included it came close to 2.5 Lakhs per year. These include labs upgradation fees , student welfare fees , development fees etc. If we look at the overall 4 year fees it comes around 10-11 Lakhs per year in general category . There are also some one time payments that comes during the admission time. Mess charges can go upto 80,000 per year if the student chooses to stay inside the campus in hostel. For SC/ST students the fees is much lower because many of them recieve government scholarships that reimburse tuition fees either fully or partially . There are also merit based scholarships which give financial relieve to the students. Overall , while the fees are not low but are justified considering DTU reputation , infrastructure , placements and environment. The fees increases gradually per year but not sky rocket like private colleges.

Tution fees:- (general canidate, Indian citizen) First year:-2,47,000 Second year:- 2,53,000 Third year :- 2,62,000 Fourth year:- 2,74,000 (By year it includes both the semesters) Fees of a back exam:- 7500 I havent took any scholarships but DTU itself provides 25/50/75/100% scholarship on basis of a interview taken and bank records submitted by students, otherwise many more scholarships are available, providing full tution fees and hostel fees along with laptops like reliance one, bharti one. Hostel fees:- Generally same for all types of hostels but little difference in ac/ non ac of 8000 rupees Total mess fees of full year 36000 out of which they refund fees of holidays on which food is not being prepared in mess or mess is closed due to some restrictions. While if you are a DASA student or international student fees is almost 4 times but you could heavy scholarships reducing it to normal pricing. Overall ROI is really good and university is affordable
