Faculty of this college is good as its a girls college so the staff or faculty was also in terms of girls. The behavior of the faculty was very good they interact with students in a way which doesn't hurt them or make them feel uncomfortable. Also helps when someone is not able to share their things with teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview

Like there are , many new couses introdced such as mine (BA economics and finance onowers) in cources like thease are are less students , like 3- 4, so we have a common classes with other deaprtment like , Hotel managenmnet There are most of the facuty are good , by nature and how they tought us , they are always avilable for help , but last year some teacher have done what they want to do , even if someone showing their medical reports , he told us that he is not beleing on report which is from govternmnet hospital Suraj , Priyanka , Nitin gupta - there are the top faculity of school of managenmnet , and they are very good and always stands for help. As my opinion , most of the exams are easy , but student who have certain problem with cerian subject they might think hard to solve exam many student got failed . What I found is cource are relevant with skills and knowledge we need for job and to contribute to economy , but some subjects like business managemnet i feel that , that cources inclued basic things which we studied at 12th or 11th clasees at school

Campus Life

I have not attened many social events , festivals , beacuse i am not socialise person , but i have seen that , there are multiple events going on every month . the range of book in librabry is very huge , one whole building is dedicated for library. Technoliogies like smart boards , and quixz tests on mobile through Shoolini app. For sports , i do not recomend this college , because the main focus of this college is on acedenics There are more then 20 groups , clubs in college , which provides a opportunities for the student who want to explore that area

Faculty is really helpful . I remember my first day of college I was really about ragging and all but the faculty come and makes us comfortable that no one is going to do such things with anyone . The examination system is like in one year we have two semesters and 6 internal test . The internal test is of 30 marksss And the semester examination is of 60 marks . In 6 of internal tests 2 of them is innovative internal test which is of 20 markss

UGC-CSIR Junior Research Fellowship 2.UGC-Scholarship and fellowship 3.DST INSPIRE Fellowship 4.DBT-Junior Fellowship Programme

Course Curriculum Overview

The NEP(New Education Policy) enhaced the specificity of the course. They included many new subjects and a well round aspect. It influenced my decision to study here as the course was not only designed for my interest in the subject but aslo fuel my interest for further studies. The curriculum is diverse. You get many subjects to choose as Cotton University is the best to study in whole of northeast. It is thus an exception to make out the best of the courses we are studying. I belive the teachers and the administration are doing there best in improving the courses through out different courses. The exams are generally on the diffucult side. The odd semester starts from august and last will december. While the even semesters start from january and last till june. Checking and the question paper are on the difficult side. Thus it tries to improve the level of the students.

Each batch has around 80-90 students. The faculty for my course is very active in their works. They are always present for help. Our professors ate good and supportive. They make us aware of the activities to take part in and internship opportunities and more. The faculty of English is very strict in marking. We have ebd semester papers every 6 months but internal tests goes sl the time assessing our knowledge of the topic. Internal marking happens on the basis of that.

Course Curriculum Overview

Economics honors is very popular course among commerce student. Beside this course is very reputed and opens our path for many jobs in financial sectors and policy making. The curriculum uses example from real life to make it more relatable. The teaching method howver is not very appealing as many things are to be tsught and many topics are never covered. Msjor issue id that thd reference used are of America which hardly relates to situation in Indian economy.

Student to facilty ratio is 40:1 all the faculties are well deserved if the subjects they teach but when it comes to approch we cannot approach all as the more the proffesor is the more difficult it is to have even a minute extra with him/her afyer the class According to me the best faculty is Ms. SHRUTI she teaches MME in 1st sem of ba economics hons. And she is so understanding she listens to each and every one pf the students problems be it a stufy related issue or college related or personal issue or even financial issue she tries to slove as much issues as she can by her self There are a total of 7 exams in wach sem and each and wvery subject that emwe study in every semester is very important and totally relevant to the course and in these 7 subjects 4 are elective subjects that u can select on your own from a list of various subjects so its your own responsibility to select a relevant subject or something that is in your intrest and will help you in future.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum has a financial exposure as well as the entrepreneurship exposure this influenced me the most My course according to me is a very real course as my course teaches that how exactly MONEY is made and circulated all over the world each and every aspect of it is in the course I suggest that the course should be more based on practical knowledge and not that much in the graphs

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course ( B. A. (Hnrs) Economics) as it is most challenging course of Delhi University and it is 2nd most popular course after bcom(hnrs) in the university. One can get a good exposure to world with taking this course . There are only end sem and some class test and assignment in between of semester (only 2 class test at max and 1-2 assignment)

Placement Experience

From 5th sem students are eligible for campus placement. One can get a average package of 3lpa - 4lpa . Highest package offerred to a person was 32lakhs per annum in 2021 so if you get into this college there are chances that you get a good package but should no expect very highly as disappointment affect the brain.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee for B.A (economics) hons is approx 21000. The fee is more or less same to the previous years. The college fee is really affordable as compared to other colleges and universities. Also, the college provides various scholarships like: merit -cum-need based scholarships are available each year along with freeships in which college provides financial assistance to those students whose family income is below rs 3,00,000. To avail these scholarships one has to fill the google form provided by college and provide documents for verification of income and other proofs.

Campus Life

The LSR campus is peaceful, pleasant and aesthetic. Covered with greenery all around. There are various societies ( like dancehoc, IFSA, students council) in which students can take part ( as per their interest) after clearing interviews. Students participate in events happening in the college and make new connections. The latest event happened in the college was Heathers day. The infrastructure of new building provides clear washroom and spacious classes. However, the old building needs renovation as the classes there are really small.

Faculty

As far as my course is concerned, there is apt faculty available. I think that would be the case for most of the courses too because recently delhi University has undertaken permanence of teachers at colleges. Additionally, if required, the college arranges guest lectures for courses/subjects where there is lack of faculty for a longer duration. Also, the faculty is quite approachable and may help you for most of the tasks but obviously your concerns should be relevant. About subjects, apart from core subjects (generally 3) there are GE, SEC, VAC and AEC subjects that have to be opted by the students and it gives a liberty to opt the courses offered by different departments which is also an initiative under NEP. The exam pattern follows past year questions mostly but readings are not enough, understanding the concept is what will lead to good marks.

Campus Life

There are numerous societies available in college including the cultural societies like dance, drama, music etc. and academic societies like Enactus, tedx, e cell, women development cell. Apart from these there are various department societies and every society has their annual fests starting from month of January to any day till March and April. Since our library is one of the largest library of DU, there's no doubt in the availability of books. We have earliest to the most recent editions of various books. The classrooms are also well maintained but are not air conditioned so summers can be struggling. Additionally, you can go to various competitions and we do have a sports team as well that participates in sports tournaments too. A lot of facilities are available in sports complex as well.

Ques. Which course is better: B. Commerce Hons or BA Economics Hons from DU?

● Top Answer By Divjot Bagga on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The answer to this question will rely on your future goals, what you compassionately dream of doing, and what you believe you will truly like. However, Economics Honors from DU is one of the best courses with exceptional scope and value in the corporate world. Everyone is aware that the University of Delhi's most prestigious course is Economics Hons. Rapidly rising cutoffs provide proof of this.  Additionally, compared to other courses, it offers higher placement prospects. Nevertheless, immense power entails great responsibility. It's not the kind of subject you can get by with just one night of studying. It necessitates commitment and diligence. Additionally, it is the most challenging course the university offers. So, BA Economics is the best option for anyone who is keenly interested in the subject.  BA Economics(Hons) is DU's most difficult yet prestigious course. As a result, if you are in the unreserved category, you will need a higher percentage. Try to get a score of 90% or higher to get into DU, and 95% or higher to get into DU's good colleges. In the end, it all comes down to your score.Read more

Ques. Is it worth doing a BA in economics honors from an average college of DU?

● Top Answer By Pragya Agrawal on 10 Oct 22

Ans. Many people believe that college isn't necessary for success in life. No, it does not. But those people are simply not telling the whole story. The amount of struggle you will face without a college degree is 20 times greater than what you will face with a good college degree. Working hard today will make your life easier tomorrow. Any average college isn't worth it unless you're in dire financial need or your family's mental state is unbearable. The hype surrounding DU is unreal. All of those 52 lakh eco packages are overpriced. 5 people out of lakhs may get it; the rest must compete for a 5 lakh job. You should never accept anything less than what you deserve. You can apply for Jamia to enter. You may apply for abroad studies. You can get a fellowship and take a year off. Do whatever it takes to stand out from the crowd and make a better career for yourself.Read more

Ques. Which is better, ISBF Delhi or NMIMS Mumbai for economics honours?

● Top Answer By Ritesh Kumar on 23 Feb 23

Ans. Both the colleges ISBF Delhi and NMIMS Mumbai offer a decent Economic Honors program. I have drawn a detailed comparison between the two on the basis of the following parameters  Worth of the Degree: NMIMS might be a reputed college but its degree cannot be compared to that of ISBF which offers a University of London degree in addition to academic assistance from London School of Economics and Political Science, the top-ranked institute in Economics. Curriculum: Economics is vast and covers a very broad spectrum of subjects from development and finance to international trade. Now the University of London excellently allows the students to choose 6 electives of their choice in addition to 6 compulsory subjects. This ensures that the students get a job in the sector they are passionate about. This flexibility of curriculum lacks on the part of NMIMS. Prospects: A DU student applying to top institutions in the UK for a master, is required to complete a diploma year before starting with his master's. This aims to compensate for the difference in the standard of education. However, anyone with a University of London degree can directly apply for a Master in top universities in the UK. Batch size: The batch size at ISBF is relatively smaller than that of NMIMS. This aids in better student-teacher interaction and class discussions. This in turn helps in better delivery of the curriculum. So in almost all aspects, ISBF is a better choice than NMIMS.Read more

Ques. How is BA economics from DTU (East campus)?

● Top Answer By Mayank Gupta on 06 Jul 23

Ans. BA Economics Honors is a newly launched program by DTU that is delivered under the department called the University School of Management and Entrepreneurship (USME). Other programs offered under this department are BBA and MBA.  Here are a few highlights pertaining to the BA Economics Honors: The faculty is highly experienced and hails from reputed colleges. There are many inspirational professionals, one such being Dr. KV Bhanumurthy, Rtd. Dean of DSE who teaches Economics to first-year students. DTU BA Economics curriculum is somewhat similar to DU or IP University curriculum. Usually, the electives are finalized by the faculty after receiving the consent of students.  DTU has a 75% attendance rule to maintain the decorum of academic ambiance here. The campus is new so it’s still in the development phase. Overall, I believe this institute in general and this program specifically has a lot of potential and anyone who fails to get into DU for Economics should consider joining it.Read more

Ques. How good is Loyola College Chennai for economics?

● Top Answer By Rudrani Sengupta on 04 Oct 21

Ans. The answer to this question depends on what you want to do. I have a few friends from Loyola College, Chennai, and here is what they have to say about the institute. Loyola has really good professors and a vast library with huge collections of books. It also has a digital library and conducts national-level symposiums. The placement office is amazing and a lot of different companies from diversified fields come to the campus. In the last placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 5 LPA.  Loyola has a policy of 80% attendance. It also has a compulsory club of 60 hours during the first year and there are a lot of options to choose from – NCC, NSS, FOP, Loyola dream team, AICUF, Rotaract, Radio, LPA, Debate Club, etc. Even after all of this, certain students have arrear and do not like to study. They just want to enjoy themselves and do not enroll in any club, do not use the library at all.  Overall, the college is good but it is up to you to make the most of your time there.Read more

Ques. Which is better: H.B.Econ. from SRCC or IPM from IIM Indore?

● Top Answer By Amrapali Patel on 30 Aug 21

Ans. SRCC is an established and well-known institution affiliated with the University of Delhi. The institution has a pretty good faculty and the curriculum being taught there is also considered to be of high standards. If you are planning to prepare a solid CV for your career, I would suggest that you opt for a course of your interest at SRCC.  These are just some views I gathered by interacting with students of these institutes.  The curriculum followed at IPM has been mocked by several candidates because of its diversity. It does not include specific topics for a particular specialization.  However, for the batch of 2016-21, a new curriculum has been introduced by the authorities which is more focussed on areas like Economics, Quantitative aptitude, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology.  These areas are also considered to be the 5 pillars of management at the PGDM level by many individuals working in the field of business and management. The placement of the institution is also quite good with the average package approximately equal to the amount which usually gets offered to candidates studying at the Postgraduate level.  Categories Economics (Hons.) at SRCC IPM at IIM Indore Course Fee 45,000 26 lakh Course Duration 3 years 5 years Highest CTC 25 LPA 28 LPA Average CTC 8-10 LPA 15-18 LPA Recruiting Companies Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Amazon, etc. ICICI Bank, American Express, Mindtree, HCL, etc. My brother was eligible for admission at SRCC but instead, he opted for IPM because it was favoring his interests, environment, and several other factors. You can too make a decision based on your interests and several other factors which you think are important for your career.Read more
