BA is a 3-year undergraduate course that enables students to engage with the human experience, from the ancient world to contemporary media, from political philosophies to philosophical issues. Once a student clears 12th (any stream) with a minimum of 45%–60%, they can take admission in BA courses in subjects such as English, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Geography, Economics, and so on. The course develops the capacity to think critically, write, communicate, analyse, and comprehend society and culture.

The full form of BA is Bachelor of Arts (BA). There are two types of BA courses: BA General (wide-ranging across all subjects) and BA Honours (single subject in-depth, i.e., BA English Hons.). It is usually admission through CUET (Common University Entrance Test) to all central and state universities (e.g., Delhi University, BHU, JNU, Allahabad University), but some private colleges have separate entrance tests or take admissions based on Class 12 marks. Math and Science are not needed for BA, and students of any stream can apply. The average fee for the course is INR 10,000 to INR 1.5 lakh per year, depending upon the college.

Post BA, students can pursue numerous career opportunities: take postgraduate courses like MA, MBA, MSW, LLB, or take competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, State PSCs, NET (for teaching/research).

We have 1 teacher on 70 student and faculty to student relationship is awesome where faculties are always ready to help and guide the students throughout their learning patterns and indifferent areas and faculties are easily approachable because of the better relationship. I like the faculty of history because he makes the complicated statements into the similar one and I think he is the best faculty across our course. The name of the faculty which I personally do not like is the faculty of geography because of his teaching style is little bit older or traditional and is approach for the particular subject is not as per todays need. There are two examination in a year and it is easy level examination where anyone can pass the exam just a preparation of 15 to 20 days and there are certain students of failed to clear the exam who even didn't study at the end of the semester and our course curriculum very much relevant for the for the academic characters.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are specific aspects which influenced by decision to choose this course across different courses such as I am a passionate student in history and political science that's why I choose BA program as my UG degree. This I'm helps us to pursue the phd in the future academic pursuits. Even my course is ready to learn and complete but there are certain aspects which have to cover under this for the improvement such as even our codes relevant but little bit it lacks practical learning and lab work and even change the teaching style will also transform accordingl. We have to examination in a year and timing of examination is 6 months each and it is a moderate level examination anyone can pass the exam with a study of 15 to 20 days

The faculities are one of the most qualified and trained professors of India.Their qualifications are too impressive. They always guide us which help in our preparation. They are very cooperative towards the students. All the professors are good but there are some professors whom I like and they're Dr.Rityusha Mani Tiwari Ma'am ,Kamlesh Kumari Ma'am ,Sangeeta Ma'am ,& Rajeev Ranjan Sir. Their teaching way is too impressive. And they make their presence in our class in such a way that we had created a bond with them. Exams are also held in a good manner .

Campus Life

Annual events like vividh, dipotsav, swaraj etc are held .Name of the some events changes annually and accordingly. Library has ample of books and journals and all of them are accessible. Some of the classrooms are well equipped with modern technology whereas some the classrooms are very primitive in nature and even lacks smart boards. Extra curricular activities are also held regularly by the different societies. Yess ,Vice-President runs a NGO which helps the needy children.

Here are the insights of faculty members of the shaheed bhagat singh college. Faculty to student ratio is good. The behaviour of the facilities are also well behaved. As i am the student of 2nd semester of this college. I got very limited interactions. In 1st semester, i had hindi as my general elective paper. Name of mam is Dr. Kamlesh Kumari. She teaches us very nicely. She also take care of us like their own children. Another proffesor is Dr. Rajeev Ranjan Sinha. He is the faculty of Foreign Policy. He is a genius person. His classes are well focused and interactive. Difficulty level of Exams conducted are moderate.

Campus Life

Annual fests of different departments/ courses are held. And on the monthly typical basis many academics related and cultural fests are organised. Many books for academic purposes are there in the library. One of them i recently issued was foreign policy by Rajiv dixit. Table tennis, cricket, volleyball, football chess etc. Social media handles of different societies and association are also there.

I am in first year so i have no exact idea about faculty student ratio, but there are lot of students than faculty if we see in ratio way. Department of political science is really, till now Rityusha Maam and Rajeev sir are one the faculties i liked them because of their knowledge and the way teach and explain. I didn't like Sangeeta maam for political science department because she doesn't teach well, she comes to class and explains from ppt and no extra work, she is a nice teacher and have knowledge but execution of knowledge is poor We have two semester in 1 year, the papers are generally not tough if studies are done regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose political science because i want to go for government exams and political science is an important subject for clearing government exams As per my info, my curriculum is very close to syllabus for exams like UPSC and SSC For improving teaching methods, projectors should be installed and implemented as it helps us to understand and see it more better The frequency of exam is twice a year as semester exam, and exam is not very tough nor too easy, it is medium level that anyone can score good marks if studied well.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid a sum of Rs 19500 in Ist year . It includes tuition fees , admission fees ,development fees , lab fees . As such there are no above charges present . The difference between my fees and my batchmates fee is very minimal , it varies around 2000-4000 per year . There is a hike of around 10% every year in my college fees . There are scholarship program for SC, ST, EWS students , there is fees paid from the student aid fund after proper verification.

Faculty

The faculty in Shaheed bhagat singh evening college is average . Maximum of the faculty members are PHD holders . The faculty to student ratio is 1:50 . The faculty I like my most is Ms Jyoti Arora. The faculty i didn't like in my opinion is Mr Sayar Singh Chopra . We have 2 time exams in 1 sem i.e mid sem and end sem.

I'm doing bachelors in arts and I have English literature as my main subject . I love english literature the most as it is the only subject that's interests me. My english teacher name was puneet gupta. He was an experienced and well educated teacher but unfortunately he's been transferred to another college . He made english literature easy for me . He made me learn all the chapters in the form of stories . He used to implement them on my daily life and taught me very good things and how to be a good human . Their is no such faculty that i hate . There were weekly tests to test the ability and intelligence of students . The tests weren't that hard . Most of the students could pass them easily studying for 1-2 hours only .

Campus Life

Many events like Holi and Diwali events are held in Rajasthan University. Navratra event is also held in my University in the month of October. Many type of books are available in the library. It depends on your interest u can read any kind of book there . I personally love fictional stories and career- oriented books . Every classroom has cctv cameras and smart boards are used . There are many fields for the students to play and big seminar halls and auditorium are also available. Big halls for extra curricular activities like dancing, singing and acting are also available in Rajasthan University. Students get to learn new things from the university and also gets motivated to follow their passion.

Course Curriculum Overview

I got my course by mistake beacuse of filling a bit wrong prefernce sheet. The curriculum is really doomed and needs to change, 7 subjects each sem, doesn't make any sense, 90 marks end sem paper, 70 internal making grand total of 160, making life hectic. The college should be like student friendly cause this is the time when students are going out of the bubble and have to fo eca and you are just stopping him by doing these things. The teaching methods are good but the curriculum is bad . They should go for grand total 100 consiting of 50 theory: 50 intrnal. Update the curriculum regularly and teach those things that are useful in real world not some fuvcked up bullshit things.

Campus Life

There are lots of annual fest and sub annual fest held in my college. various scoieties organise them, but in this session the principal of our college has kind of banned everything and that's hampring the eca of the college. The libarary is has a vast variety and accessible to all. The fcailities and tech are good in classes like smartboards in some classes, projector in each class. Sports and eca are okay in the college. The student run societies impact students by interacting them with real life scenarios and getting them a bit prepared for the future.

Course Curriculum Overview

As it is deemed to be university and mostly courses is made to run along university syllabus. You can easily get through end term exam reading one week series. Altogether they prepare you for outer world by giving tough time . Extra co-curricular activities are over glorified. Some of teachers need to be more co-operative others do fine. Internal exam question paper is predictable but external exam and examiner are from different world I believe, why can't for once they build harmony with university professors it seems like they this institution more than anything else in this world.

Faculty

Luckily my teachers were one of the best ones out there. We had internal that gave 30 rest 70 comes from external exam conducted by maharishi dayanand saraswati university. Plus out 30 20 marks for written 10 for assignment. College have semester system so two semesters per year. Mind you no amount of recounting or recalculating given to mdsu can pass you , they never increase marks just keep money for rechecking. Some of political science junior faculty actually developed our interest in subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is highly comprehensive and relevant to the current world scenario. it prepares us well for the further academic pursuits improvements can be made in areas like time table management and administration by the college over aspects like form submissions, VAC selections, etc

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is highly subsidised by the government where we have to pay around 14-17k tuition fees depending upon the semester. We also have to pay for the examination fees depending upon the practical/theory subject which is around 15-1800. Many scholarships are also there.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:28. Most of the faculties are friendly and approachable. They answer all the questions asked by the students and engage them actively. The faculties I especially liked are - Dr Kanika Pathania, Dr Brahma Reddy because of their teaching style. There are no specific faculties I didn't like. There are 2-3 IA's and CA's and end sem exams which are they are quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is quite good. My interest in Economics, Mathematics and stats influenced me take up this course. Curriculum provides us enough skills and knowlege to compete in the practical world. However, it can be made more practical by including more real world examples. Exams are conducted after end if each semester during December and may.

We have one teacher to 64 students and faculty to student relationship is fantastic faculties are easy to approach and they are always ready to help this student in whatever capacity student want whether in its professional life and personal life and faculties are is easily approachable where they are always ready to help the students. Basically I like the faculty of history because of their teaching style basically my history faculty breakdown the complex things into the similar once and which really helps the students to understand the actual words. The best faculty is the faculty of history and political science. The name of faculty Vijay personally do not like the faculty of geography because of his teaching style is little traditional. There are two examination in a year and it is a moderate level examination at program level students are easily pass and clear the exam without any backlog and the exam is related to our course curriculum which ultimately helps in future perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are certain aspects which influenced my decision to choose this course because I am person who is passionate to learn history and gather insights that's why I choose this course. This course help s to solve the real world application on the basis of the history theories and also helps to compete in the competitive examination. There are certain areas for improvement in my course curriculum as my course is not a professional degree that's why it lacks certain things maybe need just improvement in the aspect of geography as it is a theoretical subject but sometimes faculty make it little bit boring and need little restructure in the teaching style and method. There are two examination in a year and the timing of examination is 6 month each and as I already discussed earlier this examination is basically a moderate level exam anyone can pass the exam with little or moderate effort.

The annual fest which hapens in my college is Arohana , it happenes every year and include many activities, stalls, DJs etc. But what excites and brings me joy the most in my college is the Library, It has a lot of books in it and big reading space, i spent most of my time there reading and studying. My collee is also famous for its sports activities like it have Football, cricket and basket ball etc. It has its own Gym also inclusing the basketball court and the big ground. there are some amaing sports clubs and socities to join for the students.

Faculty

The faculties in my college are kind off sometimes rude strict towards the students in terms of assignments submition and presentations. But the overall faculties are good according to me in terms of dtudent-faculty relations. There are total in 7 papers that we need to study 3 are the main discipline papers and the rest 4 are the additional cumpulsory papers like GE, SEC,etc which we get to study and learn. They are selected from our own choice and can be changed every semester, they are not that hard to pass.

Ques. How is life at JNU for MA students? Is it only hectic or do students have fun too?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 04 Jul 23

Ans. My friend pursued his M.A. from JNU and according to him, he spent the best years of his life at JNU. He went to many well-renowned colleges and universities in the USA, however, JNU is unparalleled. At JNU, you will learn even when you are having fun. Female students feel safe on campus. Male students are respectful towards their female counterparts. There are no whistles or cat-calling incidents on campus. Females can walk fearlessly from one end of the campus to the other, even at midnight.  Life for M.A. students is very hectic at JNU. It is more challenging than one can expect. If you do not maintain a healthy work-life balance, you will end up spending all your time sitting in a corner with your laptop and books. Even your group discussions will end up being solely about studies. If you feel that it will be difficult for you to create a healthy balance between studies and enjoyment, you can join JNU as a Ph.D. student rather than as an M.A. student, you will then get more time to enjoy and experience life at JNU.Read more

Ques. How was your SCMHRD BA interview experience?

● Top Answer By Bharath Harish on 18 May 23

Ans. My interview process started with registration and submission of the SNAP C form, followed by the written ability test (WAT). The technical WAT had questions related to probability, statistics, histogram, coefficient correlation ratio, and pseudo code. The WAT section had two topics, one related to 'business acumen dependent on data analytics,' and the other involving the creation of a story by connecting two given images. After the WAT section, the interview process moved on to group discussion (GD) and group exercise (GE). The GD topic was whether technology would replace teachers in the future, and the GE task involved forming a political party with given Bollywood stars. The personal interview (PI) consisted of questions related to my academic and professional background, technical skills in Java programming and SQL queries, conflict management skills, and problem-solving abilities. The interviewers also presented a hypothetical scenario where I had to suggest arguments to the CEO for hiring a Business Analyst despite the cost-cutting measures. Additionally, I was asked to draw a graph that compares revenue and vs financial success.Read more
