Course Curriculum Overview

4

I specifically chose Economics and history to study because I had an interest in both. Economics is pretty self explanatory, learning about how the world economy works is interesting. History on the other hand is interesting because you get to know how civilization and society developed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly I've paid around 14000. I've paid that as a general category student. My classmates also pay about the same amount but it could vary depending upon the category they applied in. Scholarships are available. Especially for those who excell at studies.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest of Deshbandhu college, which is Sabhrang, happens in February of each year. It always has big hype around it as the college gets ready for a real party. Clubs and societies also hold their annual fests such as E-Summit from Fiontrai, which is the entrepreneurship cell of the college. These events happen every year and the hype behind them is real.

Admission

Deshbandhu college has a nice reputation. Being the 13th Ranked college in the whole country (by NIRF ranking) is a big deal. It also being in South Delhi was a big part of my decision. Admission process for Deshbandhu college is the CUET UG exam like many other colleges in India.

Faculty

5

The faculty members are great. All of them are highly qualified and the way they teach is amazing. For me, I really liked Miss Yogita. She was very intelligent and she also is a great teacher. The exams are pretty easy if you study for them.

Night Life

5

Nightlife around Deshbandhu college is decent. It's just next to Krishna Market so there are a lot of places to eat. People mostly spend most of their social time near the cafeteria in the college. This area of Kalkaji is also pretty safe to roam around at nights.

university of delhi have have started compulsory of courses such as VAC ,SEC and many other skill enhancement courses so that you not only rely upon your degree but you enhance your Interpersonal Skills , Communication Skills ,Speaking Skills as in future all jobs and placements are skill based not degree based so for enhanceing and developing a good personality these courses played a major role. The timings of examination were between 2,30-5,30 Pm 3 hours exam water facility was provided during the exam tenure. There were placement Cell initially in JNU that conduct placement but due to most people don't sit for that while persue higher studies that's why it works very slow, they tries to make placed all those students with higher CGPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

Placement Experience:

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
