Internship opportunities provided by the college

There are many societies in the college like 1. The placement cell and 2.The internSociety which provides regular updates on internships weather in NCR region or any other. The internships provided are genuine and it also offers a competitive pay and the opportunity to make it a full time placement job after graduation.

Fees of the course per year and scholarship option available in the campus

The course which i opted for is Bachelor of commerce and the required course fee was 12500/year. It might have came down in the recent year but it was the same when i was in the first year. As far as i know the course fee is same for everyone may it be from any reservation category or sports quota. Financial aids and scholarships were also available for the students who want to apply for the same

Events organized, and facilities available in the campus

The college's annual cultural fest "Priyadarshani" is a highlight of our campus life, typically held in april this festival showcases a plethora of events organized by various students societies which fosters creativity. The college's library is a cornerstone id academic support boasting a collection od approxmiately 100000 books and 600 journals for the students. The college places a strong emphasis on holistic development offer A range of sports and physical activities.

Course Curriculum Overview

Because i only got inrolled in this course as I didn't had maths in my +1 and +2 classes so I didn't get bcom hon course and i got enrolled in bcom program. Faculty members and better and very supportive to students

Students view on faculties

The faculty to students ratio varies across different departments. My course was bachelor of commerce and the ratio was 1:50 not to be exact. Despite these numbers many students find the faculty approachable and supportive. The college boasts a distinguished faculty many of who hold a respectable degree like PHD. The course structure and examination system follows and semesters pattern with assessments conducted in the end id each term, the difficulty level is moderate and regularly updated

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

Eligibility of the course was based on the cut off which was listed in the form. I found the application on the official site of delhi university Sc cut off was 86% and i got 90% so i took admission in Dyal singh college I don't have any such improvement suggestions but yes these cut off's should be made into CUCET

Night Life

The area's sorrounding my college includes lodhi garden and nearby markets are generally considered safe. As with any urban setting its advisable for students to remain vigilant, especially during late hours and to travel in groups when required. In overall dyal singh provides a conducive environment for learning during the day while its strategic location offers students ample of opportunity.

  • Both colleges are listed among the top 10 colleges in India.

Shekhar Suman
Sarita SharmaB.A.(H) in Eco (h), Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi

Dyal Singh College of DU should be the choice, without any doubt. Despite being a south-campus college, it provides numerous benefits to its students. A few examples are:

1) LUXURIOUS LOCATION

Having said that, Dyal Singh College is located on LODHI ROAD, one of Delhi's most affluent areas. Lodhi Gardens, Safdarjung Tomb, Humayun Tomb, Indian Habitat Centre, Khan Market, and many other tourist attractions surround the college.

2) MASSIVE CAMPUS

Dyal Singh College has the largest campus and building of any south campus college, with a large student body. Yes, you will always discover new places within the college to hang out with your friends, even after graduation.

3) YUMMY SNACK POINTS

You'll find some amazing food joints right outside the college's entrance. The famous "LOVE DI HATTI" and "MAGGI POINT" will never disappoint you. The college canteen also serves delicious food at reasonable prices.

4) DIFFERENT & TALENTED SOCIETIES

Dyal Singh is always known for amazing talents from various states that are highlighted by society. Which is better: Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Sri Guru Gobind College or Dyal Singh College for a B.Com programme?

Sidharth DuaB.Com hons. from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi (2022)

According to the reviews online, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC) is a very well maintained institution. They have a proper infrastructure with a good faculty and student crowd. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is also academically a good institute.

It is suggested that you do not go for Dyal Singh College (DSC) but opt for anyone among the other two mentioned.

Between SGGSCC and SBSC make your choice based on the location. If you belong to South Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, then choose SBSC. If you are from any other part of Delhi choose SGGSCC.

If you are from an outstation choose SGGSCC as overall living cost in North Delhi is cheaper than South Delhi and you can also stay near North Campus which will help you interact with a much more diverse set of people.

Is Dyal Singh College better than Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?

Sabeer Chalana
Utsav KumarB.Sc.(H) Computer Science from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Delhi University (2018)

Dyal Singh College (DSC) is a really good college. The cut offs for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) for B.Com (Hons) is higher than DSC.

  • SC has one of the best locations in India. It is situated in Lodhi road which is considered to be the most expensive residence.
  • It is close to Khan market which is the most expensive market in india.
  • It is behind the JLN Stadium, which has the closest metro station.
  • The campus of DSC is huge and spacious.
  • The infrastructure is maintained and taken care of almost every year.
  • They have a better faculty than DDUC.

Lastly, it is advised that you choose the college on the basis of a course you want to pursue. At last you will realize that college hardly matters. Because during placements your skills will make you stand out and not the college name.

Which college should I choose for History (hons) Dyal Singh College or Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

Sreemona Das
Swati Arora,B.A (H) Economics, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (2017)

It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC).

Here are some reasons why:

  • If you want a college with better infrastructure and canteen opt for DSC.
  • On the other hand DCAC provides excellent Extra-curricular activities, societies, clubs, placements and overall exposure.
  • The faculty of both the colleges are good. DSC is better in B.A subjects but not economics.
  • DCAC has better connectivity. It is near to metro stations on the yellow line and pink line. Whereas DSC is only close to JLN stadium metro station on the violet line.
  • Neither of the two colleges offer hostel facilities.
  • But it is easier to find accommodation near DCAC than to DSC.
  • Accommodation near DCAC is also affordable.

Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.

Which is a better option B.Sc. Maths (Hons) from Dyal Singh College (morning) or from Rajdhani College (morning)?

Nikhil Suri,B.Com (Hons.) from Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi (2018)

Among Dyal Singh College (DSC) (morning) and Rajdhani College (morning), students usually prefer DSC rather than Rajdhani. This is due to the following reasons:

  • Mathematics at DSC is said to be the best in Delhi.
  • They have faculty members with more than 40 years of educational experience.
  • They are cooperative and will guide you through the subject's tougher portions.
  • The overall infrastructure and maintenance of the campus has improved a lot.
  • The college canteen provides healthy food items at a reasonable price.
  • Here you will be learning amongst some of the best minds.
  • The only thing that needs some improvement is the internet connection. The whole campus is wifi enabled but has several connectivity issues.
  • The placement is also good. They have a dedicated placement cell as well.

The science group in DSC is considered to be one of the best. They provide proper training and exposure which will ultimately help your career.

What college is better for a B.Com (Hons) course among Dyal Singh, Sri Guru Gobind, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa, or Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma?

Sabeer Chalana
Priyam Kumar,B.Com(H) Bachelor of Commerce Degrees & Finance, University of Delhi (2003)

All the mentioned colleges are good in their own way. But it is important to know the college is not important but your approach towards your course.

B.Com (Hons.) is a very prestigious course and it demands a great deal of dedication and concentration. Getting admission to any of these colleges means that your interest is genuine.

Consider enrolling yourself into any of the professional courses also as the syllabus for professional courses and B.Com (Hons) are quite similar. Go for ICWA due to the fact that it does not have the requirement of articles.

These 3 years in college will shape up your career ahead. If you score good marks and understand all the concepts and are truly invested in the subject, then after a while the college name would not matter, as your skills and knowledge will be given more precedence.
