(Hons.) in Computer Science, and all vocational streams are conducted in English, as per the standard of the University of Delhi. The college also has courses at the certificate level in foreign languages such as French, German, and Spanish, which are, of course, taught in the respective foreign languages. If you require evidence for purposes such as visa applications, the college can also issue a formal Medium of Instruction certificate in English on request.

College of vocational studies - MY JOURNEY

Placement scenario in campus, highest and average package being offered

You are eligible for applying for placement after you come in third year of your course. You can apply for internships even before that. The highest package from my department was about 1200000 offered to a student because of his skills. Talking about the average package it is around 4-5 lakhs. There are more than 50% students who get placements from our college. I've not applied for a placement because I wanted too continue my higher studies. But for experience I've given some interviews which were quite good.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

The internship opportunities are immense in our college. Every second day there is a new opportunity posted on our group which we can apply. There are various departmental opportunities available such as :- Finance intern HR intern Marketing intern Content writer intern Sales intern Operations intern Etc.. The companies which provide these opportunities are also reputed you can get a work from home or a work from office internship also. The stipend usually ranges from 5k-20k depending upon your role and tasks you've assigned. I'm currently involved in a finance internship provided by my college with a reasonable amount of stipend.

What are students views on their campus life!!!

The social environment of our college is very active. You can see the ground full of people playing sports everyday. Also the cultural societies are very active if you become a part of it you'll be getting a huge exposure of the most talented individuals of our college. The number of societies in our college are more than 30 and almost all of them are very active. The NSS and NCC of our college are very well reputed and highly active too. I was also a part of It. You can join any sports team and get selected to play matches and go in competitions. There are equipments provided for us to play in our free time such as football, volleyball, etc .

Total fees of the course and scholarships availability

The fees is to be provided annually for example I had to pay 11250 annually for three years for my course bcom hons. There was a very minimum hike in the annual fees which is less than 1000 rs which I consider as very affordable. The scholarship opportunities are available you can avail them if you're eligible for it. You just have to fill a form with necessary documents. Also you can join the placement cell from the very beginning it provides you a lot of opportunities to get a part time internship or a full time employment. The package depends upon which role you're applying for and which stream you're from.

Students view on course curriculum and examination pattern

My course was bcom hons which Is a white reputed course among others. The course have both practical and theoretical subjects. The books regarding the subjects can be easily available inour library. The teachers recommend books to us on the first day. The exams are conducted every 6 months semester wise. There are 6 semesters. You can easily score a very good cgpa such as 8 or 9 if you're consistent as it is a scoring subject.

Students view on faculties of the campus

The faculty members are very well educated and some of them are also having more then 20 years of experience in teaching. The professors are strict to their timetable and adhere to it. But I would like to say that all teachers aren't the same some like to come on time and teach very well. While on the other hand there are some teachers who are not even interested in taking classes. They just come take attendance and leave. So there are both positives and negatives in our department. Overall, the faculty is really nice and dedicated to their work and many teachers are involved in cultural societies too so that fests can be conducted smoothly

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

At my time of admission there was merit based system. You are selected on the basis of your class 12th marks (best of 4 subjects). Students of any board can take admission. They just have to clear the cutoff marks. There is a college wise list released at regular intervals which is called as cutoff list so if your marks are more than the cutoff then you can apply and take admission in that college. Now the merit system is over and every candidate has to give ab entrance exam known as CUET. I think this a more reliable source of admission as it will truly make the candidate prepare for the exams. The number of candidates appearing are in lakhs so there is an immense competition.

Admission:

I wanted to persue Bachelors of Management Studies from the start as I had no intentions of persuing B.Com like everyone else. I had this college on 11th preference in my preference sheet during the counciling. I did apply to some of the renowned colleges of Delhi university, however, I specifically wanted to pursue BMS which was offered by 6 colleges back in 2013. Based on the final marks list for BMS, I had a chance to take admission in any one of the four colleges, and I specifically selected CVS, owing to the number of total seats it had for BMS which were 300.

apart from delhi university, i had applied in IP university, Amity and GD goenka university. I got admission in all these universites but i chose DU as DU has a reputation over these private universities. the du college degree held more power and got more recognition for further studies as compared to the private universities. the admission process nowadays happen through an entrance exam called CUET. class 12th marks are no longer important for admission as your admission solely depend on the rank you get in the CUET exam.
