Ques. What disciplinary actions are taken if a student submits forged documents for ANDC’s need-based scholarships like Abhinav Halen?

Ans. Acharya Narendra Dev College provides various scholarships like Abhinav Halen Scholarship, and the scholarship amount is INR 15,000 for B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics). In case a student submit forged documents it is considered a serious offense. The Scholarship amount is provided after going through the following procedure:

  • ANDC’s Scholarship Committee verifies documents (e.g., income certificates) with issuing authorities (e.g., SDM office). Discrepancies trigger an inquiry.
  • The student is summoned for a hearing within 5 days, with evidence presented by the committee.

Students who dare to submit forged documents have to face the penalties and the punishment by the authorities. The penalties faced by the students are:

  • Cancellation: Scholarship is revoked, and disbursed funds must be repaid within 15 days.

Ans. Acharya Narendra Dev College’s Anti-Ragging Committee follows guidelines prescribed by UGC and DU. Students facing ragging or any other issue related to it may lodge complaints through the email (anti-ragging@andc.du.ac.in) or in person at the Principal’s Office within 48 hours of the incident. Anonymous/random complaints are considered if proper evidence is provided. Then, the Investigation committee, including faculty, a student representative, and an external member (e.g., NGO), investigates within 5 days. Life in ANDC

Students view on college

As my CUET score wasn't that much high but I want to opt for computer related field in my higher studies so I choosed this course. Faculty of this college is very cooperative and unlike rumours you have heard of that college teacher don't teach anything, come to ANDC it will change your perspective. As I'm in first year I can't say anything about the exams but what I can say is that it is medium level of difficulty if you have studied enough.

Internship and project opportunities provided by the college

Students can pursue summer internships with faculty members at ANDC. Some examples of summer internship projects include: Isolation and cluster classification of Mycobacteriophages from soil samples Survey of prevalence of Diabetes in college going youth of Delhi NCR Effects of Lantana camara weed extract on the survival and midgut histoarchitecture of Aedes aegypti L. ANDC also has a number of other programs and facilities, including: Entrepreneurship Laboratory (EL) Established in 2013, EL provides a space for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills and set up small enterprises.

Placement scenario in campus

Our college now have a placement cell in which there are 3 vertical:- tech, medical, commerce that helps students secure internships and job placements, which is an important factor for many undergraduates.

Fees of the course per year and scholarship available in the college

Fee in this college is very low in comparison to other college and don't think it is because of poor facilities but it is due to our college is funded by government. My first year fee was 9915, second year was 8915 and third year fee is 13224. You can get various scholarships according to the course you have opt, one of them is Teena Gupta Memorial scholarship,SAKSHAM Student aid for fellowship, Savitri Singh scholarship and the list goes on.

Events, sport activities and facilities available in the college

Leiothrixx is the name of annual fest here in ANDC. In previous it was held in the month of April. In library, you can find your almost every course related reference books ( more than 2 copies) And our library is equipped with RFID management system. In our college you can participate in various indoor and outdoor games like football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, chess, carrom, table tennis, badminton and more. A group of student have established their start-up inside our college BookWithUVA which is growing well.

Students view on faculties

I can tell you the faculty reputation of some of the departments of ANDC is above any top-ranked North campus college. North Campus profs will look up to you with expectations. They know where you come from. ANDC has a disciplined environment with lots of opportunities in theatre & DST-funded research labs. You can approach Faculties involved in projects as a research assistant. I have seen a few who even published a research paper alongside their BSc. It’s an extraordinary task and obviously needs a multitasking & dedicated mind. Prof. Amit Garg, Gaurav Sharma, Priti Mam, Monika mam are some of the best faculty I've met.

Eligibility criteria to get admission in the college

Eligibility of this course is that applicant should have passed 12th class from recognised board. From year 2022 application are made via CSAS counseling that uses the score of CUET examination, in this exam you have to select mathematics with 2 other subjects (that you have studied in your 12th class) and obtain score to get admission here. After giving CUET you have to apply for CSAS counseling that control the process of admission in DU. CSAS portal will show you the alloted college and course as per as your marks and preference list. Students of category SC/ST/OBC/EWS get both relaxation on fee and marks criteria. It would be great if they can handout the information about preference list so students can analyse the data and choose courses wisely while filling the form.

Night Life

Sports facilities:- Limited sports facilities present College events:- Moderately busy calendar with 1-3 monthly events Mess food:- Mess and Cooking arrangements are Hygienic, Quality and taste of food is acceptable Attendance policy:- Incomplete attendance invites penalty Dress code:- Students can wear whatever they want Additional expenses:- Books Consequence of rules violation:- Rule breakers are let off with a warning Outside movement of girl students:- Not at all restricted

I applied to other colleges under Delhi University like Daulat Ram College, Deshbandhu College, Hansraj College and others. However this college and particularly this course was my first preference and this college offered it the best so I chose this college over others. I did not receive rejection from other colleges as this one was on my first preference. The admission in this college or any college in Delhi University occurs via the CUET entrance test which is a national level examination conducted every year by NTA for 12th and 12th pass students. The cutoff for this exam depends for what course you're applying. For eg- for B.A, B.com the cutoffs are higher compared to that for B.Sc.

Admission:

After that, it was based on CUET score.
