Campus Life

Not at all impressive as like many of the amumbai colleges, we too just have a college building and canteen which is newly opened is on t ground floor. Earlier we didn't had canteen too. Also, there are no sports facilities but interiors in the classrooms and library are amazing. The initial week was called students week so our freshers lasted as long as a week and then in March we have our annual day and fest Kabira.

Faculty

Faculties are always stuck into us as they consider all students as their favourite. So to be loved by them this way is seriously good to see. Doesn't matter how strict they are but they always help us scores in the marksheet. Also I haven't heard them say no ever to students questions. Tough ask as a student to be asking them again and again but they are always in the action to help us.

Faculty

Faculty is Good. Some are the ones who had good experience in corporate as well. Interactions are must being the B-school, we learn most from discussions I feel. Even Faculty are open to discussions. Some are like Madhu totla Ma'am, being CA and CS, she is teaching us finance after her corporate life. Amit sir, Nks sir in finance are the OG teachers I would say I can have in Finance. Guest Faculties for subjects like VAC, SEC in some cases are not that good , but for core subjects , the permanent Faculty , we get are really good I would say.

Campus Life

Society culture is fun, it's good. Having Fun, work culture , learning from seniors, about theior expriences is good. Hosting Events is an Art in that case. Working together on reports and live projects for some brands are true learning via this socities.

Campus Life

It's okayish. The students usually have their own groups consisting of 7-10 students, and there's not much harmony or unity between any. The college recently developed some student portals for students to access their details and submit assignments online. Campus life couldve been very better but the quality of students is not that good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are the same for all candidates. Even for the Open Category, the one-year fees are almost 33,000. The 33,000 includes all courses and other fees like lab, gym, etc. Batchmates have paid the same fees. For the management quota, it might be higher, but I'm not sure.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course is BMS, Bachelor of Management Studies. You can call it a reputed and more professional version of BBA. The curriculum is well designed as per course needed and it covers all relevant concepts semester-wise. We also get to choose our specifications during the II year. The choice is between HR, Finance and Marketing. I personally opted for finance but I still think there's a gap between the BBA-FIA course and BMS Finance which should be bridged in my opinion. The subjects offered are very interesting and specification based. They cover a good range of the field chosen. They give you a real idea of the knowledge needed in the real-world applications. I highly recommend this course overall over BBA anytime but I will suggest opting for BBA FIA instead of BMS if you want to go into core finance. Course curriculum is relevant and not rote-based. It is very conceptual and involves practical components as and when needed. Teaching methods are top notch. Teachers keep in mind the exam difficulty level and frequently conduct assignments and test to keep up with the practice. No complaint there.

Campus Life

The overall campus life is not as lively as the main campus's of DU. There are mainly 2 fests held annually- Karvaan(Cultural) in March and Iidaira(Technical) in October-November. They are very creative but students complain about the timings, strictness and lack of well known performing artists as it usually happens in the main campus of DU. A sports fest is also held somewhere around February, called Spardha. Students from various colleges actively participate in this. The student council is also not given much liberty to change those particulars significantly. DU elections do not take place in our college, and hence we are not given any holiday and any votes since it doesn't apply here. There are many societies and cells but only a couple are active seasonally. Rest exist but not that socially active. Students are not that passionate about giving their time into extra curriculars since the student engagement is very insipid and so is the budget. However, Enactus Shaheed Rajguru has been working very well overall, in and off campus.

Campus Life

The campus is very spirited and many cultural events occur regularly. There are our Yearly fest, Freshers, and business events etc. Our Annual event called 'Mubarka' happens in January last week. We also have a huge library with over 10000 books. The library is one of the best features of our college with its well ventilated and furnished rooms. We also share a huge sports complex with our neighboring college with most of sports occuring on a regular basis. Our college has over 30 clubs, cells , societies. Popular among them are ecell, enactus, Pompom. Overall The campus life is chill and you won't regret after getting in.

Placement Experience

The college has its own placement committee called Pathway. Its a student led body and everyone has the chance to join it in college. There are some conditions you have to fulfill and then you become eligible for the placements. Mainly complete atleast 5th sem with minimum cgpa. Companies like McKinsey, BCG, TOI etc are regularly available for students in our campus. Around 70% students get placed but mainly students opt for off campus placements. I personally want to pursue further studies and I am trying my luck there.

Old school study style, the college is following the same studies which was years ago it should need to be updated asap. The timing of exam is less. They should focus on quality teaching instead of taking lectures more.

Campus Life

My overall campus experience has been amazing. I was a part of club named Finanza in year 2023 and it taught me so many things like handling large crowds, being active, decision making, negotiation skills and so much more. There are also other fests like kshitij, Rotaract club, reclamo, innovation council. They are mostly held in the months of November and December. There are smart boards in all the classes for digital learning. Extracurricular activities like dance, drama , music and all kinds of sports are there and students interested can also join committee named MCC ( Mithibai cultural committee). This commitee provides students with opportunities to go for state level competition in every field. So the Rotaract club does so many social activities and it brings a positive impact on their life. Overall, the college has all the things covered and it will help student grow everyday.

Course Curriculum Overview

I feel the course has covered all the aspects of business management from entrepreneurship, finance, marketing to logistics and supply chain management and human resource management. So everything is taught from scratch so that students from every background whether commerce, science or humanities feel comfortable. Course structure is 100% relevant and comprehensive. There are field visits and then presentations for real world learning. Each faculty has expertise in their subject. Improvement area I'd say that there could be more subjects related to Artificial intelligence as it's growing day by day. Difficulty level is moderate of exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees of courses in keshav Mahavidyalaya (KMV) vary from courses to courses . For BMS student the annual fees is just around rs17500 and there is different fee structure for other courses like Computer science fees goes upto 28000 anually . if i talk about the affordability the college is decent and good Rate of return if you are from the top couses like BMS, bcom(H) and CS. good campus and canteen food is also very affordable for students who live in pg and college also provide PG facilities to girls at affordable prices . if i talk about the fees of reserved categories there is not much difference . For SC,ST and OBC there is a very minimal difference in fees . if i talk about the infrastructure of college is decent . You cannot except a much from a off campus college of DU providing a decent infra with Decent ROI . There is also some scolarships provided to student of reserved categories on merit basis by the college . i would like to give 5 stars on Affordability by seeing the good ROI and decent infra of college .

Faculty

The Faculty to student is same as other DU colleges but what i liked is the Faculty, which is very good. Faculty of college is helpful as a BMS student if i get any problem i can go to faculty and they always find solution to help . if i talk about the exams it happens same as DU curicullum . BMS exam pattern is decent and u have to study to score good marks . Attendance plays a mandatory role and KMV is known for its strictness. You should have to maintain attendance above 65% if you need marks in internal and trust me Attendance plays a important role in your CGPA. average CGPA of Sem 2 of BMS is 7 so u can judge the difficulty level of paper

Internships Opportunities

My college provides excellent internship opportunities through its placement cell, allowing students to gain real industry exposure. These experiences helped me apply theoretical concepts in practical settings and build professional skills. In my second year, I interned at Kashee Milk Producer Company Ltd. as a Marketing Intern, where I conducted market research and field surveys to understand customer preferences and product demand. I also assisted in promoting dairy products and helped the team design local marketing strategies. This experience gave me valuable insights into rural marketing and consumer behavior. Later, I worked with Graveiens Edu Services Pvt. Ltd. as a Business Development Intern, where I focused on lead generation, LinkedIn outreach, and client communication. I contributed to increasing engagement and identifying potential business opportunities. Both internships helped me strengthen my communication, analytical, and marketing skills while understanding real-world business operations.

Placement Experience

The placement record for the college is average. As far as I know most students gets placed with high or low package as per their capabilities. There is a platform called superset on which students regularly gets information about job vacancies within companies and easily apply through it. There is Career Development Centre that have a bunch of career mentor who personally guide students about their career opportunities. I am personally not planning to do job after completing my degree. I would persue government job and therefore would like to prepare fro competitive exams like Union Public Service Commission.

Ques. Which is the best college for BMS in Mumbai among HR colleges- NM College, Mithibai College, HR College, or Jai Hind College?

● Top Answer By Subham Joshi on 19 Jan 21

Ans. There are a lot of factors which should be kept in mind while opting for either of the colleges. Some of such factors are mentioned below.  Attendance-   For attendance, HR is way more lenient than NM College. If you have a valid reason for low attendance such as preparation of CR, then you might be exempted.  However, this doesn't work in NM college, they are extremely strict about their attendance. Distance- If you are a resident of Mumbai then you should consider the distance of the college from your home. It is an important factor to consider, and saves a lot of time and money. Focus area-   If your goal is holistic development i.e. curriculum studies plus co-curricular activities, then NM college is the preferred choice.  HR is close to NM in this race. But NM provides a wider exposure owing to its central location of the college, surrounded by various other universities. Let’s take a look at the advantages of all the above-mentioned colleges in a tabular form below. Parameters NM College HR College Jai Hind College Mithibai College Placement rate (2020) 100% 70%-80% 65% 50% Average salary package (2020) 17.58 LPA 2 LPA >2.5 LPA and <5 LPA 4 LPA – 5 LPA Community- Often this factor is excluded while selecting a college, but this factor is as important as any of the above-mentioned factors. Although, if you have good people skills, you don’t need to consider it. But if you need a community then, in NM you will be surrounded by Gurjatis and in HR by Sindhis. Infrastructure-   NM College is up-to-date with its infrastructure regardless of the fact that it is one of the oldest and well-known colleges in Mumbai.  HR College is outdated, not maintained, in terms of infrastructure. Cost- If you are not a resident of Mumbai, South Mumbai is expensive in comparison to West Mumbai.  Thus, keeping the above analysis in mind, NM College is the best out of the four colleges.Read more

Ques. What are the salary packages after a BMS from DU?

● Top Answer By Pooja Rampal on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The colleges that will offer Bachelors with honors courses in management studies have finally been identified by Delhi University. The course is offered by six colleges in total: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, College of Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. The new course was implemented following the discontinuation of the BBE, BBS, and BFIF courses. These courses were extremely popular, and nearly all of the students were placed. There were 891 seats available across all three courses. The introduction of the BMS course has reduced the number by 51, which has enraged many applicants.  Keshav Mahavidyalaya is an off-campus college that is one of Delhi University's youngest and fastest growing, it has also provided exceptional placements for BMS. Top companies such as AT Kearney, S&P CapIQ, CEB, SmartCube, McKinsey Knowledge Center, Google, Grail Research , and others have recruited students from the college in recent years. The Department of Management Studies has a strong alumni network that provides students with numerous opportunities. Thus, well-deserving BMS students from KMV can easily get campus placement, and the average package is around 4.5-5 Lakhs, with the highest offered in the previous year being 9.5 Lakhs.Read more
