Ques. Which is the best college for BMS in Mumbai among HR colleges- NM College, Mithibai College, HR College, or Jai Hind College?

Ans. There are a lot of factors which should be kept in mind while opting for either of the colleges. Some of such factors are mentioned below.  Attendance-   For attendance, HR is way more lenient than NM College. If you have a valid reason for low attendance such as preparation of CR, then you might be exempted.  However, this doesn't work in NM college, they are extremely strict about their attendance. Distance- If you are a resident of Mumbai then you should consider the distance of the college from your home. It is an important factor to consider, and saves a lot of time and money. Focus area-   If your goal is holistic development i.e. curriculum studies plus co-curricular activities, then NM college is the preferred choice.  HR is close to NM in this race. But NM provides a wider exposure owing to its central location of the college, surrounded by various other universities. Let’s take a look at the advantages of all the above-mentioned colleges in a tabular form below. Parameters NM College HR College Jai Hind College Mithibai College Placement rate (2020) 100% 70%-80% 65% 50% Average salary package (2020) 17.58 LPA 2 LPA >2.5 LPA and <5 LPA 4 LPA – 5 LPA Community- Often this factor is excluded while selecting a college, but this factor is as important as any of the above-mentioned factors. Ans. The colleges that will offer Bachelors with honors courses in management studies have finally been identified by Delhi University. The course is offered by six colleges in total: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, College of Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. The new course was implemented following the discontinuation of the BBE, BBS, and BFIF courses. These courses were extremely popular, and nearly all of the students were placed. There were 891 seats available across all three courses. The introduction of the BMS course has reduced the number by 51, which has enraged many applicants.  Keshav Mahavidyalaya is an off-campus college that is one of Delhi University's youngest and fastest growing, it has also provided exceptional placements for BMS. Top companies such as AT Kearney, S&P CapIQ, CEB, SmartCube, McKinsey Knowledge Center, Google, Grail Research , and others have recruited students from the college in recent years. The institute offers various courses, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the disciplines of Arts and Commerce. Admission Criteria: The eligibility criteria for pursuing admission for BMS is 10+2 from a recognized university and the total fees required for pursuing the BMS course are INR 71,755. Placements: The highest CTC offered at the institute is around INR 27.50 LPA, however, the average CTC is INR 10.05 LPA. Ans. KJ Somaiya has a total of three campuses out of which KJ Somaiya College of Science, Arts & Commerce is the best for a degree in BMS. While both the given institutes are prestigious and well-known in Mumbai, it is preferable to choose an institute that is not autonomous for your field of study. Comparison - SIES Vs KJ Somaiya: Comparing the two institutes based on important factors, SIES and KJ Somaiya are both at par when it comes to educational amenities. Both offer a well-structured program in BMS while having multiple open electives as part of their module to choose from. KJ Somaiya has a larger campus with modern infrastructure, it is considered better than that of SIES. SIES on the other hand offers a higher number of extra-curricular activities and a more developed learning experience. The placement statistics for both the given institutions are tabulated below. Ques. Which is better a BCom Hons in DU, BMS SSCBS or BBA from NMIMS?

Ans. A BMS from SSCBS is better. It offers a good return on investment . The course fee is only INR 34,565. According to the highlights of SSCBS placements 2022, the average CTC for the institute is around INR 9.26 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 21.5 LPA.  The Delhi University tag also helps a lot in terms of placements .
