What Students Say
Likes
- I really like the college infrastructure. It is actually a very old construction but maintained very carefully and the insides are secured by new infrastructure. Every classroom has an air conditioner and smart boards with student access.
- The college is very open culturally, everyone is open to do their own things and no one objects. Everyone is focused in their own way and networking opportunities are surreal. You are a free bird here, who can do what he likes without any contraints.
- The college has academic inclination for core courses like management, commerce etc. If you are someone who wants to learn and grow academically, this college really has the pedagogy to provide that need and give environment for study excellence
Dislikes
- The Faculty are way to serious about their subjects. Every faculty member has their set rules in their classes, restricting the student who don't find the class interesting.
- The ground is shared with another college because of some legal issues and it creates a lot of tension between the students of both the colleges, as it ruins the sport experience.
- The college is in South campus of delhi university. But the issue is that mainly north campus are regarded as good but the south campus remain underappriciated. Thats a issue which makes the student look weak in other parts of UoD.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is all about business management and statistics supporting a good business. I had this course in my mind when I was younger may be 13 years old. The course as not betrayed my expectations till now. It is the perfect blend of theory and practical exposure. We have to mandatorily go on some industrial visits and do some practicals but overall Its worth giving a try. Also, exams are once a four months, so everyone around here preps accordingly.
Internships Opportunities
Internship and CDC is also managed by Pathway cell. It is very active in getting the students there desired interns at firms and they try to get good stipends as well. The average stipend will be around 5k for part time roles and 40k as the highest. Also our college provides Internship Scheme, which helps students do small task for the college and earn some extra bucks.
Placement Experience
The college has its own placement committee called Pathway. Its a student led body and everyone has the chance to join it in college. There are some conditions you have to fulfill and then you become eligible for the placements. Mainly complete atleast 5th sem with minimum cgpa. Companies like McKinsey, BCG, TOI etc are regularly available for students in our campus. Around 70% students get placed but mainly students opt for off campus placements. I personally want to pursue further studies and I am trying my luck there.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 37500 as my fees for the first year with an examination cost which comes between 1500 to 2000 will be levied per sem according to the subjects chosen. My college provides aid for meritorious students who scored more than 95 in 12th grade. There is fee concession for OBC and SC / ST categories. The college also provides laptop and study material to students who are from financially weaker background.
Campus Life
The campus is very spirited and many cultural events occur regularly. There are our Yearly fest, Freshers, and business events etc. Our Annual event called 'Mubarka' happens in January last week. We also have a huge library with over 10000 books. The library is one of the best features of our college with its well ventilated and furnished rooms. We also share a huge sports complex with our neighboring college with most of sports occuring on a regular basis. Our college has over 30 clubs, cells , societies. Popular among them are ecell, enactus, Pompom. Overall The campus life is chill and you won't regret after getting in.
Admission
The college was alloted to me via the Delhi University entrance exam portal. I personally wanted to do the course and thats why I accepted the college in one go. If you have to get into the college just give CUET. The cutoffs are high and you will have to aim the best score for getting in DU. Personally DU was my only option as I didn't apply to any other college. The admission process is very smooth and personally I didn't face any problems there.
Faculty
The faculty of our college is very motivated and highly qualified. These folks are all PHDs in their respective fields. The student to professor ratio must be around 40 to 1. But as the college progresses the relationship between them strengthens, helping academics with students. You have to pass 2 sem exams to pass a year. Overall the academia is very sorted and if you are interested in it, you will go places. You will have to prioritize your goals and work accordingly. For academic purposes the faculty is goated.
Night Life
The college gets close around 8 in the evening. It ruins the night life experiences but we enjoy the campus in the day with popular places like nescafe, Tamil dhabha etc. These are some personal favorite hangout spots for me and my group. Our college is not equipped with hostel facilities yet.
