Course Curriculum Overview

4

The scope of our course is very good in terms of industry, medicine, pharmacy, or dairy, agriculture. The curriculum quite focuses on the practical application of the subject , though not direct implementation of the subject but indirectly it's quite relevant. The area where improvement is required is the course paper distribution year wise and the curriculum must focus on what actual Microbiology is, not just about genetics or molecular biology aspect.

Internships Opportunities

5

Google, Amazon , Paytm and other companies are associated with internships with a good stipend of about 5000/ month. The roles offered are asst. manager, Asst. Executive , project coordinator. Not much information I have about the projects. but for microbiology there are internships with a dedicated wet lab work in CSIR, ICER etc.

Placement Experience

5

there is a dedicated Placement cell in the campus which is usually for business students. For our course, we don't prefer placement, rather look for employability or future plans after the course and that are highly available. Employment can be in any sector and the chances increase if one plans to continue with masters and research.

Fees and Financial Aid

the total fee for the 3-year course for BSc Hons Microbiology is 76,590 Rs. for most categories. Annual fees for 2025 ranged from 22,000 to 26,000 rs. Detailed Fee Breakdown: 1. Tuition and lab fee: 6000rs 2. A refundable caution one time fee during admission is paid. 3. other compulsory charges for Library funds, development funds, student welfare ,society fees account to rs 200 to rs 2000. 4. Semester end examination fee ranges from 1500- 2100 rs for every category and course. FEE FOR OTHER CATEGORIES: 1. PWD students pay a nominal fee of Rs 75 to Rs 285 per year. 2. SC/ST candidates are waved off from tution fees and only pay a heavily subsidized fee of Rs 16000 to Rs 18000. SCHOLARSHIPS: 1. Dr. Ramesh Chandra and Ms. Kanti Mishra Scholarship: 2 awards for Rs 4000 to needy and meritorious students. 2. Dr. GR Taneja Memorial Award of one dedicated for English student and 6 for other courses amounting to Rs. 6000 each.

Campus Life

5

We have dedicated Arts and culture societies for extra curricular activities and Dastoor(indian music society) , Anantdrishti( indian classical Dance society) are one among them. We've literally societies and other debating societies as well in the campus. The overall experience was active with lots of fun and lots of study hours with couple of busy days and lots of assignments and file work.

Admission

According to the new NEP scheme, we were not allowed to choose colleges based on our merit but are alloted to us by the University itself on basis of CUET scores. So, the only option that was available was to choose preference of course-college combination and list them in order. I listed Ram Lal Anand College -BSc Hons Microbiology as my First preference and I got it in my third round of Allotment.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio is 1:30 or 1:40. Faculty to student relationship is quite professional and only limit to studies. Prof. Prerna Diwan (the Honourable VP of our college) , Prof. Vandana Gupta , Dr. Sudha Choudhry are one of the most experienced and most vibrant faculties. There are 2 end semester examinations (odd and even sem, per year. In our class, almost all of them pass except 1-2 rarely.

Night Life

5

Nightlife is quite interesting since we have guards near the campus and bright lights lit the roads . recently there is a lot of deforestation going on which is not good as of me but since those trees were damaging the infrastructure so they might have to be removed. Famous Hangout places are in Nearby Satya nitekan with dominos, burger singh, waffle co. etc and a lot of cafe lanes with rich food and fun environment.

Other Applied Colleges

*It's a general course so every subject is taught in detail. *The course is not very practical and doesn't offers much with respect to real world applications. Those who want to do phd, research or want to become a professor in Biology can take this course. *The Focus should be more on practical releated to real world applications . *Exams are held every 4-6 months and they are easy to moderate.

Placement Experience:

There is very rare placement for my course in my college. If you want any placement, you have to do minor in some other subjects like economics and statistics. You can masters after that and then PhD. Then you can become a great mathematician in future too. Most students are thinking to clear the Upsc and other government exams after the graduation. If you want to any placement you have to score around 9.5 cgpa in your 6 semesters.
