Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.

Internships Opportunities

3

College provides one major internship called ELITE for Summer as well as few small internships in various companies through exams and interview. ELITE provides a good opportunity to research and explore various topics of your interest

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for 1 year:25k- 26k. Increases every year by about 500-1k. Tuition fee is very less, around 200-300. Rest of the fee includes fee for infrastructure, lab facilities, etc. A number of financial aids are provided on the basis of financial conditions and merit.

Campus Life

5

The college has an yearly fest for 2 days, which includes artist for day and DJ night for other. Along with college fest, a number of other things are organised throughout the year which include alumini meet, sports day, club fests, diwali mela, science day. College has a library containing large number of books which can be issued using the e-library facility. Library also provides facility for issuing previous year question paper online. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and labs are equipped with smart boards. There are a large number of laboratories such as chemistry lab, Biomedical lab, computer lab, laboratory for sericulture, ciliate lab, zebrafish lab, physics lab, etc. In biomedical labs, there are a huge number of equipments like fume hood, laminar flow, autoclave, pipettes, test tubes and many more. A good amount of sports facilities are provided by college like sports room which contains table tennis, chess, carrom, etc. Apart from this college also has basketball court, cricket net, football field, volleyball court. Sports day is organised in college yearly which includes cricket tournaments, volleyball, basketball, table tennis matches among others. There are large number of college clubs and societies in college such as dance club, singing club, theatre club, eco club, etc. College society also contains national and international organisations such as ENACTUS and NSS. There are society for research purposes like Spie and society for building business like e-cell. These societies help student network, connect with peers, pursue their interest as well as build overall personality in students. These societies also help build skills such as leadership, communication, team management, etc., and help students showcase their talent both inside as well as outside college through competitions.

Admission

This college was no.1 in my CUET preference list. I did few other courses for safer side but this course as well college was my top choice as it covers a lot of areas which are taught in MBBS and is quite interesting. Delhi University has 3 colleges for Biomedical Sciences, in which ANDC is the top college in terms of ranking that's why out of all three colleges this was my first choice. A few other options that I kept for me was microbiology, biochemistry in colleges such as Gargi and Deshbandhu. The college accepts your scores from CUET in subjects biology, chemistry and physics. The acceptance is done on the basis of your scores as well as your preference list. As this college was first on my preference list, I didn't get to face any rejection. The cutoffs for my admission year of 2024 was around 425+ for general category.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio for Biomedical sciences is about 1:10 or 1:15. The facilities have excellent qualification in terms of education & research projects. Each and every faculty is great at their job. There's no particular faculty I didn't like. We have one semester end exam for each semester which include theory as well as practical exams. The exams range from easy to moderate level. The course curriculum covers various subjects such as microbiology, immunology, physiology and anatomy, pharmacology, biostatistics, etc., that I would say are both interesting as well as challenging.

Night Life

4

There are a large number of eateries, cafes and restaurants around college. The college contains one cafeteria, juice corner, printing shop as well as stationery and general store. There are no college hostel by itself but a large number of PG, flats are available outside college. In college, there's, one library, one reading room, one conference room, one seminar hall, one main playground with few other lawns. Outside of college, there's kalkaji park, pacific mall in nearby locality and large number of fast food chains from major brands as well as a good number of cafés. The locality around college is moderate and safe to roam around till about 11-12 at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
