Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees Structure of Electronics Course comprises of Admission fee, Tution fee, Basic Facilities, Development, Mentorship, Extra Curricular Activities and much more, that range from Rs.10 to Rs.500. The fees is equal to all categories but fee Concession is available to those who are financially challenged, which provides 80% of fees or Rs.10000, whichever is lesser.
Campus Life
My overall experience for the first semester at Hansraj turned out to be Great. The College provides Departmental as well as Extra Curricular Societies. The Extra Curricular Societies are very supportive as well as enthusiastic, providing a lot of exposure in events and competitions at other institutions. You will get to meet a lot of like-minded people at such events. The Campus is great too. Hansraj has one of the largest libraries containing fictional, non-fiction and Course specific books.
Admission
The whole undergraduate admission process of DU is through CUET, except a few exceptions like Law and Enginnering. The Electronics course require Physics, Chemistry and Maths from CUET, 250 marks each and one must obtain 500+/750 to get this course. Reservation benefits are also available. This was my third preference in the preference list after B.Tech (IT&MI) at CIC and CS Hons at Hansraj, which I could not get due to cutoff difference.
Faculty
Every Course consists of three Discipline Core subjects and four optionals. The entire course structure is well organised and faculty to ratio. If the number of students is large, they are divided into section. The Optionals do not have the same case. Different departments provide different courses every semester and the courses in demand have a lot of crowd like 1 faculty for 250-300 students.
Night Life
Hansraj College has one of the largest libraries, divided into two floors. Four Cafes and a canteen is there. The Canteen and a Cafe is run by College and other by Trusts & Societies. The Hostel is being rebuilt, so it's not available for a few years to come. The Gym is always closed. There is not much nightlife as the classes extend upto 5 PM in the evening and the library open till 7. The LP area is one of the significant structures in the College campus. Also, the Faculty of Arts is one of the Students' favourite spot in the University North Campus. As Hansraj College lies at a corner of North Campus, we find Localities just outside and PGs available in those Localities. To be Honest, the area outside college is okay to some distance and after that, its underdeveloped, dirty and somewhat unsafe to roam at night.
