Students also ask

Ques. I am confused about CUET subject selection. If I choose the wrong subject in the CUET form, will Lady Irwin College reject my admission later?

Ans. Yes, subject selection is very important. If the CUET subject does not match the course eligibility, admission can be cancelled during CSAS verification. Even if the score is good, a wrong subject create problem. Many students ignore this part and suffer later. Always check the subject requirements of Lady Irwin College before filling out the CUET form carefully.

Ques. I am planning to give both CUET UG and CUET PG in the same year. Will counselling dates clash and create a problem for admission?

Ans. Mostly, CUET UG and CUET PG counselling happen separately. Dates usually do not clash, but students must track both properly. Problem happen whena student ignores CSAS registration for one course. Managing two counselling needs attention. Many students miss one counselling session while focusing on others, so date tracking is very important.

Students also ask

Ques. I am confused between B.Sc Home Science and B.Sc Hons Home Science, so which one is better for higher study and a job after graduation?.

Ans. B.Sc Hons Home Science is a more focused course, and the subject knowledge is deeper. It is better for higher studies like MSc and research fields. Many universities prefer an honours degree for PG admission. Job options are also a bit better in nutrition, teaching, NG, O and research area compare to a normal course.

Ques. I want to know if the fees written are final or if extra charges like exam, lab, and hostel fees are also added later at Lady Irwin College.

Ans. The fees written mostly include tuition, library and lab charges only. Hostel fee, mess charges, exam form fee and some other activity charges are paid extra. The hostel fee is only for students who get a hostel seat. Students should keep some extra money for exams and small yearly charges.

Students also ask

Ques. I got a good CUET score, but a wrong subject combination, so will Lady Irwin College still consider me in CSAS counselling or reject me directly?

Ans. Lady Irwin College strictly follow subject mapping rules of Delhi University. If CUET subjects do not match the required eligibility for the course, then the seat will not be given, even with a high score. The college verification stage checks the subject combination carefully. Many students lose seats due to wrong subjects, so eligibility is more important than marks.

Ques. I accepted a seat in the first round, but want to upgrade later, so is there a risk of losing my confirmed seat in Lady Irwin College?

Ans. If the upgrade option is selected, then the existing seat remains safe until a higher preference is allotted. The seat is not cancelled automatically. But if a higher preference is allotted, then the old seat is replaced. If no upgrade happens, then the original seat is confirmed. Fee payment must be made on time to avoid the seat cancellation issue.

Lady Irwin College Cutoff Courses-wise

Here is the Lady Irwin College cutoff 2025 for CUET UG and PG:

Lady Irwin College CUET UG Cutoff

The CUET UG cut-off for Lady Irwin College shows that science courses are more competitive. In the first round, closing marks were 564 for B.Sc Home Science, 547 for B.Sc (Hons.) Food Technology, and 433 for B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science. In the last round, the cut-off goes down to 500, 496, and 403 marks, so students with lower score also get a chance later. Lady Irwin College CUET UG Cutoff 2025 for the General Category is listed below:

Courses First Round (Closing marks) Last Round (Closing marks)
B.Sc Home Science 564 500
B.Sc (Hons.) Food Technology 547 496
B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science 433 403

Lady Irwin College CUET-PG Cutoff

The PG cut-off for Lady Irwin College shows different levels of competition in courses. In the first round, M.Sc Food Science and Nutrition closed at 153 marks, while B. Ed closed at 99 marks and later dropped to 45 in the last round. For M.Sc Human Development & Child Counselling, the cut-off was 110 marks, showing moderate competition. Lady Irwin College, Delhi University, CUET-PG Cutoff 2025 for the General Category is listed below:

Courses First Round (Closing marks) Last Round (Closing marks)
M.Sc Food Science and Nutrition 153 -
B.Ed 99 45
M.Sc Human Development & Child Counselling - 110

Students also ask

Ques. I scored less than the first round cutoff but more than the last round cutoff, so can I still get admission, or is the cutoff final?.

Ans. Cutoff is not fixed in the first round, and it changes every round. If seats remain vacant, then the cutoff goes down. Many students get admission in later rounds with lower marks. If the score is near the last round cutoff, then the chance is there. Preference order and category also matter a lot.

Ques. I am targeting the PG course, but the CUET PG cutoff table shows a dash, so does a dash mean the course is cancelled, or that there are no seats?

Ans. Dash usually means a seat already filled in an earlier round or cutoff not released separately. It does not mean the course is cancelled. Sometimes admission closes in the first round itself. Students should check the CSAS portal and the DU notice instead of assuming dash means a negative result.

Students also ask

Ques. I saw placement numbers are very low, so does Lady Irwin College give career option or do students depend only on their own effort?

Ans. Placement number looks low because many students go for higher study, teaching, research or exams. Colleges focus more on academic learning. Internship, NGO work and projects help students build a career also. Self-effort is important, but teachers and college support students when needed.

Ques. I want to know if internships are compulsory or optional, and whether college helps in getting a paid internship.

Ans. An internship is part of the syllabus in some courses and optional in others. Teachers and departments share internship information. Many students do an internship during summer vacation. Paid internship depends on the organisation and the student's skills. College gives guidance, but student effort matters most.

Lady Irwin College Ranking

The ranking of Lady Irwin College shows its decent position in recent rankings. As per Collegedunia, the college is ranked 85th in the Education and 59th in the Science category. In the NIRF ranking, Lady Irwin College secured 31st position overall, showing good performance at the national level.

The following table displays the Lady Irwin College Ranking 2025

Ranked By Category Latest Rank
Collegedunia Education 85
Science 59
NIRF Overall 31

Students also ask

Ques. I am confused because the ranking is different on NIRF and Collegedunia, so which ranking should I trust more

Ans. Different rankings follow different methods. NIRF is a government ranking and focus on academic and research work. Collegedunia ranking depends more on student reviews and popularity. Students should set the ranking trend, course quality and their own goal instead of trusting only one ranking source.

Ques. I have an average CUET score, so does a lower ranking mean easy admission, or is the ranking not related to the cutoff

Ans. Ranking and cutoff are not directly related to each other. Cutoff depends on course demand and the number of students applying. Even colleges with average rankings can have a high cutoff for a popular course. Students should check the last year's cutoff instead of thinking that ranking decides admission difficulty.

I had no intention of applying to any other college. All I did was apply; my name appeared on the screen for college. I found this college details on Google when doing research on colleges. I chose this college for that reason, and I have never regretted it in my life. All of the information on eligibility, course, fees, hostel costs, etc. is available on the college website. Admission is determined by the results of the CUET exam and exam numbers.

Admission:

During my tenure, we get admission through the percentage of our 12th board marks. However the polocies has changed now. For admission in our college now students has to attempt CUET UG exam and then have to score as per the cut off list. Application form. Our college offers only three course in graduation. Eligibility for Bachelors in Home science, students from any background (humanities, commerce, and science) can apply. But for B.Sc Honours and Bachelors in Food Technology students must have chemistry and physics in their 11th and 12th as its a complete science-based course. Cut off list generally goes 89-93% but seats are researved for ST/SC and OBC candidates. Admission form released on the website and its generally a simple form that ask for personal details, educational qualification, and documents as proof. After clearing cut off, college verify documents in physical form. This procedure takes time as college has limited 4-5 members in administration department.

Back in 2017, the admission to all the PG Courses in Delhi university took place through entrance exams. The entrance for this particular course B.Ed was done through an offline mode of examination. The exam pattern consisted of different sections that included General Awareness, Quantitative Apptitude, Reasoning, General English & Hindi. So as to appear the PG entrance, the learners were supposed to apply through a common portal of Delhi University and apply accordingly. A cut off was released after 15 days with a list of students who were alloted dofferent colleges by the university. These students were then asked to report to the respective college where thier required documents got verified along with submission of Annual fees. The admission process was quite a cake walk!
