Ques. I filled out the CUET form but forgot to choose Lady Irwin College in preference. Can I add it later during the counselling round?

Ans. No, college preference once locked in DU CSAS usually cannot be added later. If Lady Irwin College is not selected during choice filling, the system will not show the seat option. Ans. If CSAS registration is missed, admission will not happen even after clearing CUET. CUET score alone is not enough. CSAS counselling is a compulsory step. Many students lose seats because they think the result is final. Always register CSAS on time, otherwise, wait until next year.

Lady Irwin College Admission FAQs

Ques. I am from the reserved category, and my score is low in the first round. Should I still wait for the Lady Irwin College cutoff for later rounds?

Ans. Yes, many time cutoff drops in the later rounds due to seat vacancy and student withdrawal. The first round is a very high-pressure round. If the score is near the last round cutoff of the previous year, waiting is a good option. Many students get a seat in later rounds. Patience is important in the CSAS counselling process.

Ques. I want to know does category cutoff changes every year or remains almost the same for Lady Irwin College?

Ans. Cutoff is not fixed every year. It depends on many factors like the number of applicants, the difficulty of the CUET paper, seat availability and student preference. Some year cutoff goes high, some years it drops. Category-wise difference also changes. Students should check the trend of the last 2–3 years, not only the data for one year.

Ques. I am worried about the attendance rule at Lady Irwin College. Is attendance very strict for CUET-admitted students in regular classes?

Ans. Yes, the attendance rule is quite strict in Lady Irwin College, like other DU colleges. Students usually need around 67% attendance to sit in exams. Practical classes attendance is more important. If attendance is low, student face problems during exam time. Teachers do guide, but responsibility is on the student to attend class regularly.

Ques. I want to know whether Lady Irwin College allow gap year students for UG and PG admission through CUET?

Ans. Yes, gap year students are allowed. DU does not reject admission because of a gap year. But the student must have a valid reason and documents if asked. A gap affidavit may be required. Many students with a 1–2 year gap get admission every year. CUET score and eligibility matter more than a gap year.

Ques. I am confused about the hostel facility. Does Lady Irwin College provide a hostel to all admitted students automatically?

Ans. No, the hostel is not automatic. Hostel seats are limited and mostly given to outstation students only. Merit and distance are both considered. Many students stay in PG or a rented room nearby. Hostel form is a separate process after admission. Even a high CUET score does not guarantee a hostel seat.

Ques. I want to do internships along with study, does Lady Irwin College support internships during course time?

Ans. Yes, college support internship and field work. Many courses include practical training and project work. Teachers guide students about internships in NGO, clinics, schools or research centres. Students can also do a summer internship. Time management is needed because classes and practicals are regular, but many students manage both.

Ques. I am planning higher studies abroad. Does a Lady Irwin College degree help with foreign university admission?

Ans. Yes, Lady Irwin College's degree is from the University of Delhi, which is well recognised. Many students apply for foreign universities after UG or PG. Marks, research work, recommendation letter and extra activity matter more. College give good academic base, but students need to prepare a proper profile for studying abroad.

During my tenure, we get admission through the percentage of our 12th board marks. However the polocies has changed now. For admission in our college now students has to attempt CUET UG exam and then have to score as per the cut off list. Application form. Our college offers only three course in graduation. Eligibility for Bachelors in Home science, students from any background (humanities, commerce, and science) can apply. But for B.Sc Honours and Bachelors in Food Technology students must have chemistry and physics in their 11th and 12th as its a complete science-based course. Cut off list generally goes 89-93% but seats are researved for ST/SC and OBC candidates. Admission form released on the website and its generally a simple form that ask for personal details, educational qualification, and documents as proof. After clearing cut off, college verify documents in physical form. This procedure takes time as college has limited 4-5 members in administration department.

The exam pattern consisted of different sections that included General Awareness, Quantitative Apptitude, Reasoning, General English & Hindi. So as to appear the PG entrance, the learners were supposed to apply through a common portal of Delhi University and apply accordingly. A cut off was released after 15 days with a list of students who were alloted dofferent colleges by the university. These students were then asked to report to the respective college where thier required documents got verified along with submission of Annual fees. The admission process was quite a cake walk!
