Course Curriculum Overview

4

Basically I am from maths background and chemistry and mathematics are always my favourite subjects. I wished to get maths honours from hansraj college itself but due to less marks and high cutoff I couldn't make it. So I get into my second favourite subjects chemistry. Well sometimes while studying I really relate things to the real world once whom I thought it's kind of magic like colour changing elements and mixing solutions and many else. My suggestion is that faculty should more focus on practical works for my perticular course instead of theory as it is changing in every 4 months. Teaching methods need to be upgraded. I'm a very slow writer so for me a three hour exam here is very difficult to write as I get my fingers numb sometimes and at last time my handwriting gets worse.

Internships Opportunities

4

An annual flagship event, the internship fair, is organised by the internship cell to connect students with potential employers. In 2022 over 3200 students assembled for it and over 40 companies like byjus, bajaj capital, Josh talks, decathlon, extramakrs and other IT companies too. Average stipend is about 10000 per month along with the duration of 2 months with flexible timings like part time and full time too. Internship roles span various fields, allowing students to engage in meaningful projects that enhance their professional skills. For instance, students have undertaken roles such as Financial Research Interns, where they conducted market analyses and financial modeling, contributing to strategic decision-making processes. In Marketing internships, students have developed and implemented campaigns, analyzed consumer behavior, and managed social media platforms, leading to increased brand engagement. These experiences not only provide practical exposure but also significantly enhance students' employability by equipping them with industry-relevant skills.

Placement Experience

4

After fifth semester students are eligible for campus placements. Over 280 offers were made in last placement session by such great companies like Bain and company, Deloitte and United airlines. Highest package was 2300000 and average was 700000. There is no specific percentage but very high as over 215 students got placement in session 2021-22. My plans after graduation is pursuing post graduation with some extra coaching for my civil services preparation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The free structure for my and for even all other courses is different for every category like general, OBC and others too. For me as I belong to OBC category, is around 29600 and it almost remains same for general category sometimes for SC too but for ST it is 4 to 5 thousand only. In my first year I have paid around 25000 and in second year it was around 29600. There are extra semester exam form changes too that depends on our individual subject selection according to new education policy it almost costs for me around 2000 always. There is a scholarship provided by college in which they give money, almost half of the per year fee, on the basis on student academic score throughout in a year. Our pet year fee is increasing with a very high rate that is not good for sure. For the next year it will increase more and I will be paying around 35000 for my third year of graduation.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of hansraj college is CONFLUENCE that is celebrated every year nearly in April or May month depending upon the election results of president selection. There are vast collection of books and journals in our library. There are separate floor for each background. There are several no of sports and extra curricular activities offered to students on campus like marital art workshops, khelo hansraj inter College competitions and yoga classes and so many sports too. There are like 100+ student run social groups who are helping students of our whole university in every possible way like providing study material, stay help and others too.

Admission

Hansraj college is one of the best colleges under University of Delhi. I have applied for almost every college which offered my course but my dream college was Hansraj for always. In the first round of counselling session, I got ramjas which was my 5th preference according to my list but I upgraded for the second round and then I got hansraj, my dream college. I chose this because the very first reason was its infrastructure, its academic excellence and our most loved shakrukh khan who also studied from here. I didn't get rejected from any college for my course but the other courses for that I have applied for, maths honours, I didn't get the seat in top colleges due to my low score for that course. CUET is the only and most preferred exam according to which admission is allocated to every individual. Cutoffs depends for every other courses and for the admission, the very first step is you must need to appear in CUET exam with proper subject combination according to ur preferred course. Then after result declaration, you need to prepare preference list of your preferred courses and colleges then according to your score, college is allocated to you then you have to accept the seat allocation and need to make the fee payment. Admission process is complete after the document verification at last.

Examination System and Marking Scheme: The examination pattern includes both internal assessments and end-semester examinations: Internal Assessment (IA): Accounts for 25% of the total grade. The IA marks are distributed among assignments, presentations, tests, and attendance. Students are informed about the IA break-up at the beginning of each course, and those unable to participate are given opportunities for retests. • End-Semester Examinations: Constitute 75% of the total grade. The University of Delhi employs a grading system where students must secure at least 40% in both theory and practical components to pass.Examination Difficulty and Pass Rates The difficulty of examinations can vary by course and subject. Hansraj College maintains high academic standards, and while many students perform well, some may find certain exams challenging. Specific statistics on pass rates are not publicly detailed, but the college provides academic support to help students succeed. Course Curriculum Relevance The curriculum at Hansraj College is designed to be comprehensive and up-to-date, aligning with current academic and industry standards. Regular revisions ensure that the courses remain relevant, preparing students effectively for further studies and professional pursuits. Dr. Taruna singh, Dr. chetna Gupta and Dr. Shailendra Kumar Singh these all are very friendly that's why they are favourite for almost whole class not only me. Dr. Shampa bhattacharya and gagandeep, I don't like both of them cause they are sometimes very strict at tiny things and treat some students very bad.

Interview Experience

4

There were no Group discussions I faced yet because no general GDs are there for all students. Only few societies provides this for their society members only. So I have faced nothing yet in my college.

Night Life

4

My favourite hangout spots are Kamla Nagar itself and sometimes wondering at night with friends is a different kind of fun. Yulu rides are the best part of it. I don't go to the gym basically but cafeteria time is best during college means after classes relaxing. Mostly campus and hostel timings are around 11 pm after that everything starts getting close. My favourite spots are bench outside boys hostel and sudama chaiwala and Kamla Nagar whole.
