Ques. What efforts did DRC take to spread Legal Literacy?

Ans. The DRC campus is offering Add-on courses on “Legal Literacy, Awareness and Aid” in collaboration with Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) and Course Coordinators as Dr Sonia Mehta, Professor, Department of Philosophy, Daulat Ram College and Honourable Judge, Mr Tushar Gupta Pandey, Delhi Judicial Services, Secretary, West Delhi Legal Services Authority. It aims to educate the learners from different disciplines and backgrounds, specifically from non-law fields, about the theoretical and practical aspects of the legal framework. The Certificate course is open to all candidates, with a minimum eligibility being passing the Senior Secondary School Examination with 50% marks. The courses cover highly diverse legal subjects of contemporary import, such as Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws, Consumer Laws, Women and Children Laws, and Human Rights Law. Ques. How is recycling done in DRC?

Ans. DRC aims to become a zero-discharge campus. Thus, it has set up a recycling unit on campus, which houses paper recycling machines and a leaf shredder machine. These machines help to make recycled paper, and the leaf shredder machine helps to make manure. The functioning of the recycling unit is improving day by day with the manufacture of tons of fertiliser, which is used in-house or sold outside, preparation of ceramic pots with medicinal/antipollution plants, making of white and brown recycled paper, and the use of these papers for painting. Ceramic pots and paintings made here are used as gifts for our guests in the college. Students can do their internship here and can earn NSS hours by participating in its functioning. Ever since its inception in 2016, this unit has processed tons of shredded leaves into manure, recycled paper and cartons, provided potted plants for gifting and also provided folders, paintings, and carry bags made from recycled paper. Training workshops help to train the students and community members regularly.

Ques. How is the Staff Room of DRC?

Ans. DRC provides a well-maintained and thoughtfully designed Teachers' Study Room, located conveniently adjacent to the library. This space serves as a quiet and resourceful environment for faculty members to engage in research, lesson planning, and academic discussions. The study room is equipped with modern computer facilities, enabling faculty to access digital resources, prepare lectures, and conduct research efficiently. Faculty members are also provided with personal lockers, ensuring a safe and organised space to store books, documents, and personal belongings.

Know your dream College

Student view on course curriculum

As I am a commerce student and pursued the same in my 11th and 12th also It was sort of obvious to go for B Com one of the most sought after courses opted by commerce student. Overall the curriculam is nice but according to me I feel that the theory must be lessen and more practicals should be included this would make the course much better. Teaching method differs of all the professors and they are quiet good. The exams are conducted semester wise with mid semester exams or tests taking place through the semester and internals also.

Internship opportunity provided by the college

There are internships according to the course be it of commerce, humanities or science. You can go for the internship according to your future goals. One need to sit in the interview for the same. Many of the girls were placed last year in big companies. At last it all depends on the calibre of the student.

Placement provided by the college , average and highest package

From 2nd year you are eligible for internships. There are many companies that give placements to Daulat Ram Students don't know much about the placements being a freshers but they are good. The highest package was 21 lacs per annum and average package is 6 lacs per annum. I am also pursuing a professional degree with B Com. After that i will go for placement .

Yearly fees structure of the college

The yearly fee of Daulat Ram College for B Com Hons is 34250 INR. I think its the same for all the categories no idea of obc creamy layer. Other than the yearly fee there is a minimal examination fee to be submitted before semester exams. Around 1200 to 1500 INR depending on the number of subjects.

College fest and various activities

They are many events taking place all the year. 'MANJARI' the annual fest of Daulat Ram College that takes place in February almost every year and other societies also organise their events and also dandiya night is there in the scene that ofcourse takes place during navratri and other events namely Bollywood day and ethnic day . Almost all the classroom are big and spacios with good ventilation. The library is also very good with almost all the books available in the library which can be issued with library membership. Sports is really nice I am a part of NSO (National sports organization) in which we have to go play every saturaday you can also go on other days. Also the sports club is good that conducts various events. There are many societies in the college to name some are debsoc the debating society, Anhad Indian dance society , spicmacay , placement cell, women development cell, cyber cell, spectra art society and many more.

Student views on the faculty and exams

The faculties are really nice be it commerce, humanities or science all are good. As I am a commerce student I will tell more about my faculty. So the commerce faculty is good with nice proffesors and also a union commerce faculty known as 'commenur'. The frequency of exams is twice in a year with internals on the mid and mid sem examination or tests. The passing percentage is quiet good almost all the students pass except those who didn't appear. The exams are not very difficult. B Com students also have to study and practice on the latest accounting software followed by a practical examination.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

I applied in various other colleges that provide B com Hons. Ofcourse I applied in the top commerce colleges but the admissions are based on merit of the entrance exam namely cuet. In which I scored 94% and according to that merit I got in DRC. To get in the colleges of DU one needs to appear for the CUET exam conducted by NTA and then after the result is out preference sheet needs to be filled very carefully according to your preference of college and course you want to get into. Then the counselling process takes place after some days your college will be alloted and you are good to go.

Night Life

Night life is happening at the place. After classes we hangout in the campus the DU is a campus in whole Drc is in the north campus situated in North delhi. With kamla nagar and majnu ka tilla nearby to hangout after classes with friends. The locality is safe didn't experience something wrong just the thefts of mobile phones one needs to be aware.

But i don't regret coming to the college as the environment here is better and not toxic which makes it easier to survive college life. For my course the cut off was 722 for general category in the second round. The admission process was fairly simple with just accepting the college and paying the fees it wasn't complicated as such. To apply in this or any other other du college the student needs to give cuet and make a very well preference list.

Admission process includes giving cuet ug exam, get score card and apply through csas portal for Du colleges and lists come. For the seat you got, you either upgrade to get better college or freeze to secure seat and appear for your first day. Most favored exam for graduation other than neet and iit jee is CUET UG. No, admission to Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), New Delhi, is not possible without appearing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Since 2022, LSR, along with other University of Delhi (DU) colleges, has adopted CUET UG as the sole criterion for undergraduate admissions. This policy applies to all undergraduate programs, including BA, BSc, and BCom. Direct admission based on Class 12 merit is no longer offered. To apply, you must first register for CUET UG, appear for the exam, and then participate in the DU Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), where you can select LSR as your preferred college and program. Admissions are based on your CUET score and eligibility criteria
