- IIM Kozhikode has revised the admission policy for PGP 2025-27. There have been changes in the weightage to calculate the Aggregate Index Score for the Stage 2 Shortlist. The weightage of CAT score has increased to 50%, whereas the weightage of Class X score decreased to 15% and Class XII increased to 20%. The rest of the components remained same. Check Details Here

IIM Kozhikode is one of the premier management institutes established in 1996, by the Government of India. IIM Kozhikode ranks 3rd by NIRF 2024 among the top B-Schools in India. Admission:
The admission process consists of a written exam - the Common Admission Test. CAT 2023 was held on 27 Nov in 3 shifts. The application fee for the exam was 2200+ GST. There are 3 sections in the exam - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The exam was for 2 hours, with a sectional timing of 40 minutes each. The applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any field with an aggregate percentage of at least 50% (Gen Category). There is no minimum requirement for work experience to sit for the CAT, which makes it a good option for higher education for fresher graduates.

The interview process was smooth, you will get all the information via mail. You can even apply for more than 1 course if you are eligible and crossed the minimum percentile in the CAT exam including sectional cutoffs.

The admission process was seamless didnt face any major difficulty at any point be it at an interview or result announcement online. I am enrolled in PGP-finance program so I can talk about its eligibility criteria. IIM Kozhikode accepts multiple entrance exams like CAT, GRE and GMAT for the finance program. I got admission through CAT which I had given in 2022. Eligibility criteria have been given in detail on IIM Kozhikode official website. To get shortlisted for the IIM K admission process, you need to select that in CAT form during preference selection. for ST students cut-off in CAT is lower than general category students which are wary alot every year, Sectional cut-off is 60/55/55 in CAT, I dont think that there is any need for improvement in the admission process so it's fine.

The admission process was good, I didn't find any limitations whatsoever in the process. I appeared for CAT to get admission to the college. The cut off for the college is around 99.5+ for GEM and generally lower for people with academic diversity

Graduation course with at least 3 yrs tenure. The application form can be obtained from the online resources or offline form as per the directives of the CAT Board for that year. Initially one has to write for CAT and then on the basis of percentile, there is a call from the college. GD/ PI for the invited candidates and the final merit list by the college are provided.

- IIM Indore and Kozhikode: Both the institutes require percentiles around 97.5 for an interview call

Unlike the other parts of Kerala, IIM Kozhikode was left mostly unscathed owing to its remarkable architecture and altitude. Some of the people I know who have graduated from there have said that the floods have left them deep emotional scars.
The Social Service Group of the institute successfully distributed funds, packed food, clothes, blankets, bed sheet, sanitary napkins, and other required amenities, with the help of faculty, students, and alumni.

- 50 sets of detergents, Dettol, mops, and brooms to the Kunnamangalam AUP School.
- 213 packs of biscuits, 275 sanitary napkins, and others including sugar, juice, chocolate packets, and chips were provided for Nilambur Relief Camp.
The student community of strength over 800 worked hard to make the lives easier of the people affected by the flood. The institution did its best to reach out to the people not so fortunate.
Do hostels of IIM Kozhikode have single or double occupancy?
My brother completed his PGP from IIM Kozhikode a few years back.
According to him, first year PGP students are randomly allotted single/double/triple occupancy rooms. The allocation varies for boys and girls. Single occupancy rooms share a common washroom on the same floor. They do not have an AC facility, and common washrooms are not provided with geysers.
Double occupancy rooms are provided with attached washrooms. Those rooms have ACs, and their washrooms have geysers. But the AC and geyser facility is available only after paying a monthly rent alongside the other fees. In the second year, there is an option to select either a single or double occupancy room.
The hostel rooms are top class in comparison to other colleges. The balconies open to a scenic, resort like view. The hostel allocation process changes each year, based on the diversity ratio and batch strength.
How much percentile do I need to get a call from MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, IIM K, SP Jain, NITIE?
To secure admission to top MBA institutes in India, you should aim for CAT percentiles from 85 onwards. Here's the order of the institutes you should target in descending order - IIM K with 97+ percentile, MDI with 96+, IMT Ghaziabad with 90+, SPJain with 85+, and NITIE with as high as possible sectional-wise.
Even though SPJain is a premier institute, it gives a call from the 85 percentile onward, since they focus on overall values that an individual possesses and want students with more values in them. They have 2 group interviews, so they follow a rejection procedure.
NITIE has a sectional cutoff, so it's advisable to have as high as possible sectional-wise, as many people with an overall CAT percentile in the range of 97-98 were not selected in either of their 2 programs(PGDM and PGDIESM) in 2016.
IIM K also has a sectional cutoff of 90+, so it's important to score well in each section.
It's worth noting that these institutes do not have a sectional cutoff, but it's always advisable to have a 90+ sectional percentile to be on the safer side. Aim for high percentile and sectional scores to improve your chances of securing a seat in these prestigious institutes.

IIML is clearly superior to MDI in non-marketing specializations in terms of placement. However, IIM I, K, and MDI are generally equal in terms of placements, except for a few banks that specifically seek out the IIM tag at I&K. If you work equally hard at either campus and all other operational factors are constant, you will likely end up in a similar position whether you choose MDI or I or K. However, as mentioned before, IIML still has the edge and requires more effort if you're in the finance or consulting field.
If you're interested in MDI, it's worth noting that recent placement reports show more and more prestigious finance and consulting companies are visiting the campus. This has helped MDI deliver well-rounded placements. So, if you're willing to put in the work, MDI could be a good option for you.

Yes, IIM Kozhikhode has psychologists available in the campus for students mental health issues. The pscyhologists are appointed on contract basis by the institute.

Yes, The students from partner institutions in the international exchanges can be admitted to any of the three Terms in the second year, i.e., Terms IV, V or VI of the two-year programme. They should have completed the first half (corresponding to the first year of a two-year MBA Programme) of a recognized Post-Graduate Programme in Management at their home institution (i.e., at the international partner institution), and should hold at least a Bachelors' degree in any field of study. At the time of application through our web portal, the choice of elective courses should also be indicated.
Exchange students should complete their visa formalities on their own. All international students will need a visa to study in India, and an ordinary tourist visa will not be sufficient.
