What's New in IIM Kozhikode?
IIM Kozhikode PGP BL Admission 2025 is open. The last date to apply for Submission of online Application (Stage 2) is November 5, 2024. Interested candidates can visit the official website to apply for the same.
IIM Kozhikode Updates are as follows:
- The notification for the CAT exam has been released. The last date to apply for the CAT exam is September 13, 2024. The admit card will be made available from November 5, 2024, and the exam will take place on the 4th Sunday of November, i.e., November 24, 2024. Students can visit @iimcat.ac.in and register for the same. The results are expected to be released in January of next year.
- The institute has revised its admission policy for PGP admission 2024 - 26. As per the revised policy, the final weightage given to the CAT Exam and Personal Interview is 35% each, while WAT will have 20% weightage and Resume Score will have 10% weightage.
IIM Kozhikode MBA Admission are based on CAT score and Personal Interview. Along with this, a higher weightage to academics and diversity, and lower weightage to CAT score will be highlights of PGP Shortlisting Process in 2025. The MBA selection criteria will remain the same, where WAT is included and the interview may be conducted in physical mode. PGP-BL, PGP-LSM, PGP-Finance Admissions are based on CAT/GRE/GMAT score followed by PI.
IIM Kozhikode offers Executive MBA Program at their Kochi Campus. Candidates seeking admission to this program will be shortlisted on the basis of Education Qualification, Academic Performance, Quality of Work Experience, and Performance in EMAT exam conducted by IIM Kozhikode. Candidates having a valid GRE / GMAT / CAT Score may be exempted from taking the EMAT Exam.
At the Doctoral level, IIM Kozhikode offers DPM or PhD and PhD (Practice Track). Admission to PhD is done through a valid score of CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE / UGC-NET (CSIR/JRF) / IIMB Test. The admission process consists of a written exam - the Common Admission Test. CAT 2023 was held on 27 Nov in 3 shifts. The application fee for the exam was 2200+ GST. There are 3 sections in the exam - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The exam was for 2 hours, with a sectional timing of 40 minutes each. The applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any field with an aggregate percentage of at least 50% (Gen Category). There is no minimum requirement for work experience to sit for the CAT, which makes it a good option for higher education for fresher graduates.

The admission process was seamless didnt face any major difficulty at any point be it at an interview or result announcement online. I am enrolled in PGP-finance program so I can talk about its eligibility criteria. IIM Kozhikode accepts multiple entrance exams like CAT, GRE and GMAT for the finance program. I got admission through CAT which I had given in 2022. Eligibility criteria have been given in detail on IIM Kozhikode official website. To get shortlisted for the IIM K admission process, you need to select that in CAT form during preference selection. for ST students cut-off in CAT is lower than general category students which are wary alot every year, Sectional cut-off is 60/55/55 in CAT, I dont think that there is any need for improvement in the admission process so it's fine.

To get into IIM Kozhikode, a percentage of atleast 95 is preferable. Being from Kozhikode won’t be of much help.
One major piece of advice to you if you are a fresher is to indulge yourself in extracurricular activities. Get extra certificates through internships or part-time jobs. Paid courses that offer certificates will also be helpful. All this will help you in the GD-Pi process and you're likely to convert your call.

During the shortlisting at IIM Kozhikode, a candidate is selected on the basis of his/her CAT score, 12th marks, graduation score, work experience and academic and/or gender diversity.
98 percentile is decent enough to get you an interview call if you have a very good academic record and 3 or more years of work experience. But to convert the call, you’ll have to perform well in the GD PI round. The final shortlisting gives a high weightage to GD PI and/or WAT and work experience of a candidate.
Make sure to score high in your CAT exam, and perform equally well in the GD PI/ WAT round. This will increase your selection chances at IIM Kozhikode.
Which B-school is harder to get into when you have a 'mediocre' academic profile and 1 yr of work experience, FMS Delhi or IIM K, L, and I?
Among the above B-schools, FMS will be easier to enter because other IIMs like IIM K, IIM L, and IIM I give more weightage to past academic performance. FMS selection will be based on Personal Interviews, Group Discussions, and CAT scores.
IIM K gives 40% weightage while the initial shortlisting of candidates for Personal Interviews is contrary to IIM L and IIM Indore which gives only 20% weightage. IIM Indore gives no weightage to work experience where IIM K gives only 5% and IIM L gives 10% weightage.
All in all, if you are a mediocre student then you have to outperform others in terms of CAT score and PI/GD performance. Indore is home for freshers and competing here will be difficult but you should focus more on FMS then IIM L and then IIM K for your shortlisting and put your best foot forward and convert your calls.

As per the revised policy, the final weightage given to the CAT Exam and Personal Interview is 35% each, while WAT will have 20% weightage and the Resume Score will have 10% weightage.
