IIMK scrutiny

Likes

The campus is very beautiful. It is there amongst the hills and gives a very pleasant feel.
Connect with different people with vivid background gives a reason to connect to all the batchmates in a very positive manner.
HR faculty I.e. surya Prakash park is very nice. They give you a very wholesome experience of the subject. The way they teach is also very engaging

Dislikes

Faculties are not good in wholesome. They are very rigid.
The management of iim doesn’t understand basic problems a person can have in their lives. It becomes very difficult because of unforeseen circumstances which are never addressed on time
The facilities at times pro center is pathetic. Once I attended a class there were 3 rats in the room. Also the kind of systems are so slow that they are not even able to operate basic excel or word.

Admission:

The course has an eligibility criteria is for the experience of atleast 5 years. One can find the application form on the website of iimk. The application fees is 2500 which is non refundable. The exams take place after every 3 months. There are 7 semesters in total

The campus's remote location, pose challenges in terms of accessibility to urban amenities

Admission:

Minimum 60% overall in a bachelor's degree or 50% in a CA,CMA or CS program to be eligible.IIMK accepts students to its PGP using CAT. Candidates must score above the IIMK threshold.The examination is normally held in November.It is safe to secure more than 98% for the general category.The application form is made available in January following the release of CAT results.Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT scores, academic performance, professional experience, and diversity. Shortlisted candidates go through WAT and PI rounds,which assess their communication skills and suitability for programme.The ultimate decision is based on WAT performance, PI,CAT score, academic background,and professional experience.Selected candidates are given an offer letter and have a set amount of time to complete necessary paperwork.Cutoff scores change annually based on CAT difficulty and candidate performance.Waiting for results of each stage was difficult due to uncertainty and anxiety involved

The weather is too humid most days in Kozhikode.
Hostel allocation is random and some people get better rooms than others
Campus's connectivity from Kozhikode city is poor

Campus Life is good as I got to engage in different activities like sports, cultural fests and much more. I have met some really good people as well.

Dislikes

Placements were bad due to Market conditions.

Admission:

The admission process consists of a written exam - the Common Admission Test. CAT 2023 was held on 27 Nov in 3 shifts. The application fee for the exam was 2200+ GST. There are 3 sections in the exam - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The exam was for 2 hours, with a sectional timing of 40 minutes each. The applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any field with an aggregate percentage of at least 50% (Gen Category). There is no minimum requirement for work experience to sit for the CAT, which makes it a good option for higher education for fresher graduates.

Admission:

The interview process was smooth, you will get all the information via mail. You can even apply for more than 1 course if you are eligible and crossed the minimum percentile in the CAT exam including sectional cutoffs.

campus, It is the most beautiful campus and most probably most beautiful in the asia.
faculty, they are very professional and are always there for you, supportive.
placements, with 100% placements record and the roles companies are giving its very good.

Dislikes

there is no attached washroom in single shared rooms which is just not acceptable.
since campus is too big, walking distance becomes quite large due to this
there is no shops inside the campus from where you can buy basic amenities like soap, toothbrush and many more.

Admission:

The admission process was seamless didnt face any major difficulty at any point be it at an interview or result announcement online. I am enrolled in PGP-finance program so I can talk about its eligibility criteria. IIM Kozhikode accepts multiple entrance exams like CAT, GRE and GMAT for the finance program. I got admission through CAT which I had given in 2022. Eligibility criteria have been given in detail on IIM Kozhikode official website. To get shortlisted for the IIM K admission process, you need to select that in CAT form during preference selection. for ST students cut-off in CAT is lower than general category students which are wary alot every year, Sectional cut-off is 60/55/55 in CAT, I dont think that there is any need for improvement in the admission process so it's fine.

Campus situated far from the main city and very big campus
Mess food is average and vegetarian options are also limited around the campus

CAT score, with a Personal interview round, people with graduate degrees in any field are eligible. People with work experience and freshers both can apply. Candidates who applied for CAT and are eligible as per sectional and overall percentile will receive the mail from IIM Kozhikode and can fill out the application form more details can be checked on IIM KOZHIKODE's official website.

The admission process was good, I didn't find any limitations whatsoever in the process. I appeared for CAT to get admission to the college. The cut off for the college is around 99.5+ for GEM and generally lower for people with academic diversity

Likes

Campus infrastructure and location is very good
Placement is 100% of the batch with good package
Faculty is very good in terms of quality and experience

Dislikes

Location of the college is a bit far from city
Airport is very far from the college and takes about 1.5 hrs
Being North Indian have less option for North Indian Meals

Admission:

Graduation course with at least 3 yrs tenure. The application form can be obtained from the online resources or offline form as per the directives of the CAT Board for that year. Initially one has to write for CAT and then on the basis of percentile, there is a call from the college. GD/ PI for the invited candidates and the final merit list by the college are provided.

An undergraduate degree is the entry point to the MBA program. Application for IIMs will be notified at the appropriate time. Ensure to have the latest certificates for reservation purposes. Follow the official CAT website regularly. The admission is gone by giving the CAT exam which comprises of three sections- VARC, LRDI, and QA. I had scored 94.93 percentile.
