Course Curriculum Overview
the aspect that pushed me to pursue for bcom hons was that i could easily prepare for my ca cs exams alongside my degree as they were correlated. students who wanted to pursue MBA after Ug could easily get admission if they had bcom hons as their degree. it was also prepares you for real world problems as you enter the business and management side in your career. the timing of exams was perfect for students as they had sufficient time to prepare for exams.
Internships Opportunities
there were many internship opportunites available in our college. many renowned companies use to come to our college for internships. ther was a special society made for internships which students could join and get timely updates regarding different opportunities.
Placement Experience
college placements are really great. students become eligible for college placements when they enter the final year of their respective course. no of renowned companies come into the college and a high percentage of students get placed. my plans after the degree are a bit different as i am going to prepare for govt exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
the yearly fees for my college was 11000 for 2 semesters as each year had 2 semesters. this 11000 inlcuded everything like tuition fees, development fees , lab fees etc and this fees was more or less same for my batchmates too. there were scholarships also available like sports scholarships, academics scholarships etc.
Campus Life
my overall experience with my campus life was great. it was very exciting and happening. the college fests very held every year around feb, which was the biggest fest of our college. other small events organised my different societies use to happen throughout the year. the library also had a vast variety of books and journals in it. many of the renowned authors books were there which and a quiet environment in the library to study. it was very comfortable for students as students didnt have the need to purchase expensive books as they had the option to issue books from the library. there were facilities of whiteboard , blackboard, projectors in every class to make the class interactive and easy to learn. extra-curricular activites like theatre, fashion shows, music, dance , sports etc were offered by the college and the college paid a good attention towards them. there were many societies run by students like commerce societies, dance societies etc which had a great impact on students as they use to boost up the confidence of students and build up there communication skills.
Admission
apart from delhi university, i had applied in IP university, Amity and GD goenka university. I got admission in all these universites but i chose DU as DU has a reputation over these private universities. the du college degree held more power and got more recognition for further studies as compared to the private universities. the admission process nowadays happen through an entrance exam called CUET. class 12th marks are no longer important for admission as your admission solely depend on the rank you get in the CUET exam.
Faculty
the faculty in the college was a very friendly and nice towards student. also the teachers in the college were highly qualified and had years of expirence which helped the students a lot. As I was a commerce student i can say the commerce faculty as super friendly and you could reach out to them anytime freely regarding any issues. And as per my friends from different streams the other faculty was same as the commerce one. The exams were conducted twice a year, mid term and end term. the mid term were held in may-june and end term in dec-jan. the difficulty level was neither very high nor easy, it was intermediate and majority of students usually pass the exam.
Night Life
the afterlife of college was super fun as there were cafes around the college to hangout and Delhi's biggest mall, Select CITY Walk Mall, was located nearly 500m away from college which was a great place for students to hangout. the college canteen and library use to close around 6pm, the same college use to shut down. campus timings were around 7am in the morning till 6pm in the evening. famous hangout places were the cafes right in front of the college, hauz khas, select city walk mall etc.
