What Students Say
Likes
- Teachers- very knowledgeable, and always ready to take the extra effort for their students
- Peers and placement opportunities, Alumni network too
Dislikes
- Infrastructure and horrible Wi-Fi. Didn't expect such bad wifi in Aisa's no 1 college. Also the infrastructure is very limited and old
- Less internship opportunities compared to placements, and very strict attendance system.
Course Curriculum Overview
I just chose this course because of the college. Ohh god..The course is absolutly irrelevant. Some teachers try their best to give us real world examples too, but the course itself is so redundant, that they cant teach us much. Plus they have to rush with the syllabus, cause it is unrealistic to cover so much syllabus in such less time. A lot of improvements need to be made in the course itself.
Placement Experience
Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees is around 31000 thousand rupees. I dont have the exact breakup of the fees. But there arent a lot of breakups. I belive the fees for international students is about 2 Lakh per year. Its significantly higher than national students.
Campus Life
The Annual fest is called Cross Roads. Its uaually in the winter month. Apart from that we also have Business Conclave too. The range and accessibility of books is absolutely crazy and wide. you can find any book under the sun. Not a fan of the infrastructure at all. The roofs randomly fall. Sports is great, amazing grounds. Yes, a lot of societies. They are both an evil and necessity in college. If not taken the right way, they can impact ur mental health negitively.
Admission
So basically i had applied to almost all other colleges in DU, for example Hindu, Miranda, LSR etc. Even non DU colleges, for example St. Xaviers. I got in all of them. However SRCC being my first preferance finally became my destination. I chose it mainly because of the Brand value it has. Same reason that people choose IITs. I didnt really get a rejection from anywhere. Just IIM under IPMAT, and that was because i didnt study too well for the entrance. For the admission in this college, u need to clear an examination called CUET. Thats the only exam. Cut off for B.Com hon goes the highest in SRCC itself, being the most demanded college. During my year it went around 782/800
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio isnt that great to be honest. Its around 60 students to 1 teacher. In such a situation the personal attention isnt possible. Best faculties would include Smita Ma'am, Anuj Sir, Manpreet Maam, Malika maam etc. Cant name the faculties i didnt like cause dont want to disrespect them, however some faculties are very problematic. Exams are of Avg level. Can do if studied.
Night Life
Honestly we dont get much time to unwind after classes. It gets really hectic. Way beyond we can manage. Library closes around 6 P.M same with the Gym etc. inside college there are not any hangout spots. No locality is safe to roam around at night. Its Delhi.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
Because it is Asia's best commerce college, with a legacy of 100+ yrs to it. It wont be wrong to say that it is the IIT of commerce and provides the best UG placements for commerce courses.
